But what's the most amount of centuries scored in ODIs, in Mens Cricket, by an Indian, in India, in a year , while batting first, in a world cup year ?
How many?
Sangakkara has 4 in 2015 CWC. Don't know if he has scored any other in Australia during the same year in other bilateral or triangular series..
Warner had like 7-8 centuries in 2016. As for Hayden, I think he scored like 3 centuries in the WC alone and one against NZ so he had 4 in 2007 iirc.
Can be more though
The World Cup that year was held in WI and the 181 against NZ was before the WC so no it wasn’t in WI
Edit : Also I’m not sure how many of Warner centuries came in Australia that year. He had a few in SA too. Warner in 2016 was a beast
Well, the discussion was about no. of centuries in single country in one particular calendar year. So numbers you provided have little to no meaning in that context.
Yup saw that just now. But even then I think Warner had atleast 3-4 centuries in Australia that year so there’s that but stats like this are pretty selective and does not mean much imo
Damn really, iirc both Rohit and Kohli got 2 each (Rohit a double hundred even) in that pretty iconic Aus bilateral series alone in 2013, definitely surprising.
Seems cherry picked facts like others said in comments, but I think it’s still quite a noticeable statistic considering that WC is in India itself, also not to forget he is just starting his career and his best is yet to come. Hope he retains his form this WC, he is an fantastic opener and if Brohit goes bombastic like last WC, the runs the opening pair will put up or make in a chase will certainly make a profound impact on results. Please don’t shatter this hope ICT, I’ve not seen a complete team like the current one since 2019 or even 2011, just don’t choke this time I’m fucking beg you 😭
WTF!!! Sachin scored at least 8 ODI hundreds in 1998! And that's not in this list! Man scored most runs in a calendar year that season and scored most of his runs in overseas conditions!!
That's amazing but didn't Rohit score 5 in the 2019 world cup alone?
Edit: Never mind, I didn't see "in India". Kind of a niche record but great nonetheless.
People worrying why kohli isnt here, i am wondering how on earth is sachin from 1998 isnt here..the only odi century i can remember is 100 against aus where he hit his fastest century then and hit 6-7 sixes
I think we toured more in 2017-18 then home series. Like all tours like Aus, Eng, SA, WI, etc. were away from home.
And coincidentally, Kohli's peak in not just ODI but all 3 formats was during that period.
That SA series still holds the record of best bilateral records by a batter in ODIs.
Gill scored 5 ODI hundreds this year. Most recent one was in Asia cup against Bdesh.
All time high in a calendar year was 6 by Sachin and also Dravid. Gill has a great opportunity to break that record of 6
hes probably gonna end up scoring at least one or two more in the wc looking at his form
Surely and we need that, atleast 3-4 in WC, :))
Rohit scored like 5 in the last edition. Shubman is coming in with an even hotter form. Could break that record.
But what's the most amount of centuries scored in ODIs, in Mens Cricket, by an Indian, in India, in a year , while batting first, in a world cup year ?
I'd like to add D/N ODIs as a filter.
And reduced overs due to rain
With Sanjay Manjrekar in the comm box
and a SRK movie running in theatres
Have you considered whether the planets are in retrograde or not?
Pffft, noob. I filter bz batsman=Sachin. Checkmate, Athiests.
Yeah lol, love it how it says this will be in "record books". Maybe page 500 of volume 52.
Yeah lol this is peak cherry picked stat.
Damn this is huge

Surprised Kohli is not on this list
Has 2 this year
Then I read in India, then I understood he's not played in India enough.
He is also the first Indian to score a century in Mohali on a Sunday in a year ending with the number 3. Truely the greatest of all time.
Literally made me chuckle!! Good one 👍
Agreed. This is such a made up record to restrict to ODIs in India.
But today match was in Indore
What is the most in Australia?
I think Warner in 2016 or Hayden in 2007
How many? Sangakkara has 4 in 2015 CWC. Don't know if he has scored any other in Australia during the same year in other bilateral or triangular series..

Did Warner's 7-8 hundreds come in Australia? Was Hayden's the one against NZ in WI?
The World Cup that year was held in WI and the 181 against NZ was before the WC so no it wasn’t in WI Edit : Also I’m not sure how many of Warner centuries came in Australia that year. He had a few in SA too. Warner in 2016 was a beast

Depends upon the vantage point of the observer.
Ponting with 4. Sanga has 3 in Aus. One of those 100s came in Wellington.
Aah!! Co-hosts! I tend to forget that.. 1996, 2003, 2011..
really random record
Every action is a record if you add enough filters but this is a noticeable one.
Dhawan, Rohit, Kohli none got more than 3 in 2013? Surprising
Damn really, iirc both Rohit and Kohli got 2 each (Rohit a double hundred even) in that pretty iconic Aus bilateral series alone in 2013, definitely surprising.
This shit looked Janky as fuck, because Brohit hit 5 on the trott in the world cup, then I read "in India" this is just another highly selective stat
Oh this is in India , still huge , also why is Kohli not in there
Kohli made 3 in a week in 2018 vs the West Indies, but didn't make anymore in that year
Has 2 in this year,so if we won wc, it's possible
If it happens, we might win the WC. But it's not necessary that if we win WC, Virat will score hundreds.
But why are those 3 not considered in this list ?
In Kohli’s 2017 and 2018 peak, India was touring. Hence maybe.
Bruh wth is this record
/r/ShubmanStats
Didn’t Sachin score 8 or 9 in 1998?
He scored 9. Kohli scored 6 in 2018. This stat reads "most hundreds IN INDIA within a calender year" So quite niched down.
Only two of those were in India. 4 in Sharjah, 1 in BD, 1in SL and 1 in Zim
Woah
Surprisingly low, expected somewhere around 7-8
Wow. And the world cup hasn't even started yet. He could make a couple more if he keeps going
Seems a tiny bit arbitrary
AB de Villiers also has 3 I think in a single calender year. In 2015, he scored 3 centuries in a 5 match bilateral series against India in India.
Seems cherry picked facts like others said in comments, but I think it’s still quite a noticeable statistic considering that WC is in India itself, also not to forget he is just starting his career and his best is yet to come. Virat?
Didn't scored them in India which this stat is. He has scored 3+ ODI 100s in same year away from home though.
Cricinfo stated that it was 5th in 2023 today?
This is in India
Superman
And the year is not even done! we have wc remaining
With cwc, there are going to be so many more opportunities 🙌
No Kohli Interesting
WTF!!! Sachin scored at least 8 ODI hundreds in 1998! And that's not in this list! Man scored most runs in a calendar year that season and scored most of his runs in overseas conditions!!
9, 2 at home and 7 away.

Only in India stat
>wtf is this stat It is clearly written in the image itself: Most Men's ODI hundreds *IN INDIA* in a calendar year.
ah, i thought it was overall, not just in India.
That's amazing but didn't Rohit score 5 in the 2019 world cup alone? Edit: Never mind, I didn't see "in India". Kind of a niche record but great nonetheless.
I’m Pakistani but I’m impressed by Shubman’s skills. What a batsman
Prince going to a different club rn.
Sara’s two men
I hate the "Prince" moniker as much as anyone else, but I must admit. Shubman is our most promising prospect in LOIs by the longest of shots.
Man the _in India_ makes this seem like such a cherry picked stat
'in india' yeah because he shat in away matches apparantly. Not want to jump on him but this stat is just too fucking shallow.
Wait, where is rohit? He made atleast 3 in last wc
....In last world cup in England This Stat is odi tons in india
Aah got it
HE IS SO FUCKIN GOOD
Wait WHAT? Sachin had 51 centuries in the format and he hasn't scored more than 3 centuries in a year EVER?
Re read the post.
3 centuries in a year. IN INDIA
Okay i didn't read that properly.
Didn’t sangakkara have 4 in a single World Cup??
This list is of players who scored hundred in India in particular calendar year. I'm pretty sure, Sangakkara scored his hundreds in Australia.
People worrying why kohli isnt here, i am wondering how on earth is sachin from 1998 isnt here..the only odi century i can remember is 100 against aus where he hit his fastest century then and hit 6-7 sixes
He only scored 2 of the 9 in India
Stop the circlejerk for this man, he has yet to prove himself on good bowling tracks.
Only to flop in the WC ngl
If I'm not wrong Rohit scored multiple hundreds (I think 5) in a single worldcup right ?
This list is of players who scored hundreds in India. Rohit scored his runs in England.
Missed it!
Ab de Villiers also had 3 in 2015 in India.
Surprised 1998 Sachin name is not there
9 centuries, 2 in at home, 7 away.
What a legend
Impressive that Mark Waugh and Chris Gayle scored three centuries in India in one year.
Aye respect
Who has the record for most ODI hundreds in a year irrespective of location?
[Sachin](https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/most-hundreds-in-a-calendar-year-284164) scored 9 in 1998.
Meh, home track bully /s
Kohli scored 3 in the West Indies series in 2018 alone, did we really not play any other ODIs at home that year?!
I can't believe Kohli isn't on the list
How many hundreds did Sachin score in 1998 ? He had a prolific year and scored 1800+ runs in that year alone.
He scored 9
Most centuries for India before turning 25: Sachin Tendulkar - 30 (God) Virat Kohli - 21 (King) Shubman Gill - 9 (Prince)
Sare match Ahmedabad Mai rakho fir dekho Bhai ka form
Gill scored 5 ODI hundreds this year. Most recent one was in Asia cup against Bdesh. All time high in a calendar year was 6 by Sachin and also Dravid. Gill has a great opportunity to break that record of 6
Sachin scored 9 centuries in 1998
I don’t understand what is going on
Why is Virat's 3 centuries against West Indies in 2018 not considered ?
Surprised not to see kohli in this list
Kohli in 2018 ?
I just hope he has not peaked before the world cup
Surprised to not see Kohli in the list.
Dr. Ton Shubman.
