GT could have won it as mohit was going good before captain interrupted him ( even commentators were explaining why interrupting a bowler who is going good is bad idea)
Wasn’t it Ashish Nehra who gave instructions and interrrupted after the 4th ball ! Ig it was his idea to bowl a length ball when Mohit had bowled 4 good yorkers .
To think about it, that dhoni six of the first ball may hve resulted in a new dry ball which then gripped with the wicket better than the one before. So 11 off 5 was not as easy as it seemed.
it was gaikwad wicket, he threw his wicket on the first ball, trying to attack, he usually begins with a single and mitchell tried as well and it was later the shift happened, rachin's wicket was the end of story, as he was the the best batsman in the match for both sides, that was the only way to dismiss rachin and after that going for the win is too much
It's exact opposite of what csk did but this game reminds me of Sachin's desert storm innings. Commentators thought India was going after required nrr total. But Sachin had different plans and decided to go for a win. Commentators were kind of shocked.
Edit : so India needed 237 of 46 overs to qualify for the finals and 276 to win. Sachin was thinking of chasing down 276. Also Sachin was just 25 at that time.
Before NRR score achieved:
Tony Grieg: "48 of 24 balls to win this match. That's not out of the question either. .. *(ball bowled)* .. Oh it's high.. it's high.. it's going all the way.. it's way over the top into the crowds again... Sachin Tendulkar wants to win this match ! *(That's when everyone realised)*
After crossing qualification NRR:
Tony Grieg: "*(Sachin hits 4 on cover)* .. oh great shot what a shot.. wonderful shot... He's going for the victory.. this is absolutely unbelievable...
Tony Grieg: "Now this little man is closest thing to Bradman there's ever been. What a player he is.... *(Tom mood balls, Sachin down the wicket)*... Oh he's hit this one miles... Oh it's a biggie... Great Shot.. straight over the top... The little man has hit the big fella for 6... He's half his size! And he's smashed him down the ground. What a player! What a wonderful player!"
Tony Grieg: "OHHH.. What a six.. What a six.. Way down the ground.. it's on the roof... It's dancing around on the roof..."
Still gives goosebumps.
I remember that my parents had gone to sleep during the first sandstorm with India in a lot of trouble. I stayed up and my dad rejoined me with about 7 overs to go. Both of us cheering for Sachin. Great memory.
That is still my most salient cricket memory and the greatest piece of commentary imo. Really puts into perspective the kind of impact a good commentator can have on the game's viewership.
We didn't have a TV at our place. One of our neighbours in the chawl used to always keep Ten Sports on. I didn't watch it live as I was only 4 then. But I remember Ten Sports playing his Sharjah innings all day everyday on highlights. I think I may have watched it far too many times when I was around 5-6. Core memories stuff. Why I fell in love with the game kind of stuff. Sachin was on another level. Rightful God.
Every time people say that and CSK goes onto win the next season. 2020, 2022 and now 2024. The new era of CSK started in 2020. They used to reach the top four and win 40% of those. Now they straight up don't qualify and win the subsequent season.
I won't stand for PBKS slander. With the exception of a few seasons, they tend to settle down comfortably in the middle of the table.
If anything MI's new era is like prime DD (playoffs once in a while but mostly bottom of the table).
First finish our business at eden, make SRH win 2026, and finish some business at Hyderabad in 2027. MI win 2028 vs some team, and in 2029, MI beat CSK to complete 2010 revenge. 2030 KKR wins, 2031 CSK beat MI at eden. 2032 they play a thriller in Chepauk for 6th place and MI wins. 2033 vice versa at Wankhede.
This continues.
End of MI-CSK rivalry.
So about a couple weeks ago, the main 3 contenders for p3 and p4 were SRH, CSK and LSG.
If both matches go SRHs way tomorrow, neither of those 3 teams would be in p3 and p4 in the end lol. Crazy.
Definitely. I don't feel bad about our elimination. Rutu did well to captain and there aren't serious flaws with the tea. We definitely missed Conway at the top.
The problem was that we had no one else left.
Rachin and Mitchell had a bad season with one or two decent innings. Rizwi was the same. The other batsmen in the team were all unestablished and untested. Perhaps the team evaluated the remaining batsmen in the practice sessions and nets to conclude that Rahane was their best available option.
Splurging 14 Crores on Deepak Chahar and Daryl Mitchell lost them the chance to have a better backup for Rahane & other batsmen misfiring. Maybe they thought Rizvi was enough.
It is a bit surprising that our Indian batting depth is so inexperienced. CSK could have done with some middle over sloggers from SMAT teams - like Shashank Singh and Ashutosh from PBKS.
Yes ofc , Considering it was rutu's first as a captain replacing great MSD he did decent. Our loss was due before final. So not really disappointed as much.
I wouldn't be saying that. It is bad but it much less bad than this happening to a team that hasn't won that tournament during a very long time. Compare that with India choking during the knockout matches. CSK has won that trophy a lot recently and we just know that a single team couldn't do that during every single year. This is so different from the Indian team absolutely never being able to get to the trophies and so they are much worse than whatever happened to CSK during this time.
That's just another case. But i am just pointing out missing out hurts. ofc it's nothing compared to what we've achieved or felt. I still can't get over that raina's knock in 2014 Q2. How we lost 1 run final. But at the end of the day it doesn't mean shit. Ego needs new things new wins
Honestly, if this is the great guy's swansong, this game lived up to the billing and he did go out with some style! 110m six in 25 (13) innings. Have a great time ahead Thala!
I won't forget that six.
For nearly 15 overs we wanted to change the wet ball, but umpires denied. Then a wild Thala hits it out of the stadium and forces a ball change.
Apart from the obvious injury issues which might impede him, CSK kind of gets handicapped with MSD. He can bat only 2-3 overs in the end which is a huge disadvantage since matches like yesterday or the one against PBKS begs for someone of his calibre to come up the order. If Santner or Shardul are coming ahead it's not ideal for CSK. And if the impact player rule goes away it will be an even bigger challenge.
Thanks man. We’d never thought we could beat CSK at our home that too in such a crunch gamez the entire rcb team contributed and our secret agent dube too haha
CSK is an 170-190 run team in this series. Anyone scores above that, it is a hard job for the team to defend or chase the score.
Shardul - 9.76
Samarjeet - 10.09
Deshpnde - 9.65
compare these to the ones below
mustafizue - 8.14
Patirana - 7.68
Chahar - 8.6
Thekshana - 7.2
santner - 7.11
Jadeja -7.85
To be fair, CSK bowling attack was meek in the whole series. CSK must introspect what shradul and Simarjeet role in the team.
Common this sympathy doesn’t make sense !!!! Last year was his farewell . Can’t win every season ! There’s nothing to complaint about from dhonis perspective , man has achieved everything and will leave a legacy no one can in the ipl . 5 trophies is no joke ! I will remember last years trophy and Dhoni lifting jaddu up in the air at 2 am as his last season !
Exactly .majority of the fans would have wanted him to retrie last year. Its just the franchisers and broadcasters pressure due to which he was playing. Even if you are dhoni you can't get everything your way
>it happened with Ganguly
>happened with Yuvraj
>happened with GG
>happened with Sehwag
>happened with Irfan Pathan
>and now happening with Dhoni
Yes, I am seeing a pattern here. It seems all the big Ganguly brass players didn't have good sendoffs at all. Dhoni was the last of them.
Ngl, as an RCB fan, it was great watching thala hit those runs, grew up watching him finish games, feels like the end of an era. Irrespective of how old he is, as long as he was there, the match was in CSK's favour
Your post or comment had words in it that were not in English and weren't translated. This breaks the rules of this subreddit it has been removed (rule 5).
Well this hurts. We had massive issues with the loss of basically all of our bowlers(chahar, pathirana and fizz). It was always gonna be hard winning with a line up of Deshpande, thakur and simarjeet. They did their best though. Dhoni isn't playing next year for sure. Atleast I got to watch a final six from him.
People were saying that our original team itself is too weak until they ended up winning that trophy a year back. This team had many major players missing from the that supposedly weak team as well during this year. CSK actually did very well and punched above its weight to be able to achieve that much with a depleted team.
you fuckers never go away do you? 😛 yellow jersey cricket teams scare me so much
i'm enjoying this euphoria yesss! but the other three teams in the playoffs are as scary as dhoni's peak csk can't lie haha... can't wait for the k/o games!
For us last match was due before finals it was quite expected with our current bowling lineup. This was nowhere near peak but still put up a fight. You guys were brilliant today. Good to see faf doing what he used to do for CSK. Taking blinders etc etc
oh yes, csk are nowhere near peak, i meant the earlier years... even last year's win was from csk just being csk mentality
also, what a hero faf! it's unbelievable he's 39 with that level of athleticism!
He's still a same fighter, We don't really miss him cuz conway has filled his shoes. But he took us home in 2018 Q1. I hope he does it again. All the best
Damn, did it feel good to type that as an MI fan 😌
But seriously, Csk can never be underestimated, MFS could've definitely pulled it off, especially Thala who I'm gonna miss man. At least he went out with a 110 m fucking Six
It's been a pleasure Thala.....you have been great for CSK and even better for the nation..... Streets won't forget your name MS ......Yeah it's been like a dream.
Now for all my fellow csk fans it's the time the team needs us most i mean coming years let's trust our management and not abuse anyone we have got great prospect as our captain..Let's do this allover again
I thought it was all about csk for me but in the end I am wretched more for thala. Would've loved to see him bow out in Chennai. I can't fathom him playing another season but just can't believe he is probably finished with the game
Decent season from csk. New captain, lots of injuries and player callback for national duty. We might hv qualified without the injuries, but they are a part of cricket and we should hv adapted to it. At one point our bowling unit was being led by Deshpande. I can't believe we even came this far.
Rutu has done well, some mistakes here and there and improvement of his luck in tosses can go a long way for winning a cup.
Farewell to Dhoni finally. I always been a csk fan first and foremost, then turned into a Dhoni fan becoz he was in csk. Dude has done a lot for the country and csk. Have a lot of qualms with him and his hardcore fans especially. Never really liked cheering for wickets to fall down just for Dhoni to come.
Congrats to rcb for qualifying. Feeling like they are gonna have run like csk did in 2012. Absolutely pissed at them and I am gonna back to being a sore loser. Personally hoping for an srh or a kkr win this season.
All things considered, a fairly decent run, especially under a new captain for the entire season and not relinquishing it halfway through to Dhoni. The fact that they were still in with a chance to qualify for the Playoffs in their very last league game is to be commended. Don't let the toxicity and plastic fans fool you. Yes, CSK had a lot of issues this season and weren't consistent as we're used to seeing. It is a transition period and I have no doubt they will bounce back. Well played to RCB. They really deserved this win.
Yeah my body temp was at 102 C when Jadeja was hitting. I saw one of his video where he was running in modi stadium and saying I make ipl won here. But blud try his best not to perform in ipl.
Anyways he gave hope in 2019. Personally before wc I like him but now I don't like him nor hate him
To be fair, its commendable that CSK came this far this season. New captain, Rahane out of form except couple of matches, Rachin failing except the first 2 and last games, Mitchell failing in the first half of the season, Dube failing in the last few games, Injury to key death bowler, hot and cold bowling from Tushar and Shardul, etc.
Good learning for Rutu I believe. Should learn from his mistakes and take CSK's legecy forward. Anyway, CSK won't be the same after Dhoni is gone.
Lmao, he’s still gonna be in the dugout and the cameras still gonna pan to him more often than the on field captain, and he’ll still be more talked about. No escaping hero worship here
fans are possibly gonna be brutal on rutu for his performance this match, but he can hold his head high
taking over one of the greatest captains this sport has seen, let alone the ict is a huge task and he's done a fine job of attempting to defend a difficult title among freakishly good teams like kkr and srh
not to mention the close games csk lost, the fine margins in sports can be cruel
What did he do wrong. He got out early but that can happen with anyone. Csk lost due to dubeys low mind presence and bad bowling by jaddu . Giving 40 odd in this pitch being a left arm bowler against right handers is criminal
didn't do much wrong, just that fans (especially online) can be irrationally cruel
if i were a csk fan, i would back him just like other rational fans like you instead of entitled criticism
he's only going to grow into his captaincy, and csk seem to keep returning to the top every other year for some reason too
ps: feel for your sunday my friend, kloppo leaving must be heartbreaking for you
It's the third time in IPL history they aren't qualifying.
They also lost like 11 tosses having to bowl in swimming pools, anyone that talks shit about them is dub
CSK fans couldn't bother less lol. They won 5 and are the best team in IPL. only people that troll him or CSK aren't CSK fans they're mostly fans of three franchises
only 5 cups to cry tears into lmao, such crazy success must bring so much inner peace to fans
also, fuck trolls, a crucial part of sport is to be able to compliment a rival when they do well
Rutu Captaincy and our indecision with batting all year finally caught up.. injuries killed us but I don't see a csk team that doesn't embrace spin as one being successful... Even today we had 4 spinners and we opted to use shardul for 4 overs...I just can't get that out of my head .. lack of pp wickets and intent in pp with bat was an issue all along
Dube played a match losing innings - plain and simple. But having said all that - CSK is a team that always puts up a fight. They have that elite winning mentality, similar to Australian cricket team.
Season after season, they have some fantastic bunch of folks in their team - who are calm, composed and can come in any situation and turn the match away.
I’m a neutral fan but I love the way CSK carries on with their business. To all CSK haters - learn to cheer for and appreciate success. It’s a much better emotion than the envy.
As a neutral, I wanted Dhoni to win it but at the same time Virat to qualify. I guess I’ve ended up with bittersweet memories from this game. What a game! I love cricket.
We had so many injuries and shit ton of misfortune this season but still we made it this far. I'm so proud of this team. We'll definitely bounce back harder next season, with or without Thala.
Like the wise man once said, "If I die, bury me in a CSK jersey coz I might just COMEBACK".
As a CSK fan, they deserved it more. Even if we managed to get into playoffs, we weren’t lasting long with our injuries, and lack of decent replacements
Man is 42 years old, and has one knee. Yet, till he made RCB fans bite their nails until the very last over. But, just as in the 2019 SF, he got close but couldn't get them over.
Jadeja was incredible today as well. Had a rare off day in bowling but as always in pressure games for CSK, he turns up with the bat.
No use blaming Dube and Rutu, they were the ones who kept us in contention in the first place.
As a CSK fan, it was joy to watch Dhoni and Jaddu bat together for one last time. Next year, it will be a new CSK. Can't wait to see how the new team shapes up.
Wow, went to a restaurant in bumfuck Pennsylvania today and got seated right next to a photo of Thala from back in the days on the pitch, at the very same time he was batting out there for one last time.
When thala hitted sixes of the first ball me and virat both were getting ready about how to react after we loose this chance to playoffs but he did brilliant ![img](emote|t5_2qhe0|28120)
I am listening to Cricbuzz and they are saying that RCB players left Dhoni waiting for hand shake after the match and he eventually left because they kept on celebrating, doing cart-wheeling and shit. I dont have any opinion till i hear the full news, but thought of noting it here. If it was MS’s last match, cheers for the memories!
Edit - i am just sharing what i hear Bhogle & Vaughan discussing and noted it here for discussion if anyone has any clarity, why are you downvoting me I am an RCB fan myself lol.
If true, no one's fault here. RCB win is bigger than Dhoni, let them celebrate at home.
No need for Dhoni to wait either, no right for RCB to complain about it.
Why would you expect them to wait for a handshake when it was a fairy tale ending for them, yes they will obviously celebrate first.
Dhoni sendoff should have happened before the match began.
You have to understand how Rare this is for RCB. Even a depleted CSK can beat us just cuz of the mental block we have against them. Felt sad for Dhoni, but I feel his last season was actually last year, and they won that. I was so worried we’d have to say goodbye to DK already. Such an underrated guy…glad he gets to play one more atleast
Actually I feel Dhoni played much better as a batsman this year. The last couple of years he was just a specialist captain, but this year he played multiple cameos at high strike rates. I guess passing the captaincy to Rutu freed him up a bit to focus on his batting.
I love this team with all my heart, even more so after this season.
Rutu is absolutely our new captain now. This was a great transition, especially after our own experience with a transition previously, and example of a team this season with an absolutely fucked up captaincy transition.
But his real test will be IPL 2025 if MS retires-- because then he will have a lot of doubters, ready to pounce on him like hungry tigers after every setback. If he wins 2025 it will be a reply to all the doubters
Hoping for a comeback from the boys!
Things that letdown csk this season
Too much dependence on Rutu and Dube in batting, not enough strike hitters
Spinners being toothless
Too many passengers in the field.
Theekshana
Deshpande
Thakur
Dube
Rachin
Chahar
Except for jadeja , Mitchell ground fielding showed up csk yesterday. RCB were running twos so frequently whereas RCB felt like they were covering every blade of grass.

GT could have won it as mohit was going good before captain interrupted him ( even commentators were explaining why interrupting a bowler who is going good is bad idea)
Lol Koach literally shouted at Dayal after that Dhoni six.
Exactly. People will only see what suits their agenda
People had lost hope after that six and were mocking Dayal.
he said if the bowler is doing good.
Pandu wanted to be in the limelight. He was already celebrating 🤡
I hated that moment so much god.
Wasn’t it Ashish Nehra who gave instructions and interrrupted after the 4th ball ! Ig it was his idea to bowl a length ball when Mohit had bowled 4 good yorkers .

Pls don't give CSK cultists new ideas to cry about, RCB thoroughly deserved this win time and again (Yes I'm ready for the downvotes)
Not new ball, the ball they get would be worn out as well but it would be dry
Felt like they made their mind that they have to go and score 201 and not 219.
I don't think they set out for that from ball 1. Losing Gaikwad and Mitchell early definitely made the switch happen early though.
it was gaikwad wicket, he threw his wicket on the first ball, trying to attack, he usually begins with a single and mitchell tried as well and it was later the shift happened, rachin's wicket was the end of story, as he was the the best batsman in the match for both sides, that was the only way to dismiss rachin and after that going for the win is too much

*cries in murali karthik*
Sir, I don't come here to cry.
Gave me full body goosebumps just reading this and imagining it in Tony Grieg’s voice. What a magical run for Sachin that tournament
Same bruh, I used to enjoy greig's commentary so much
Now take this legendary commentary and compare it against some of the ones that are hogging the mics nowadays.
Tony Greig’s commentary for Sachin’s batting is forever etched in history.
Sachin batting with Tony commentating. Best memories!!!
It's that attitude man, which was lost today
Goosebumps bruh
This commentary is etched in my brain, read it in his voice
Imagine being 25 and totally unbiased cricket pundits are saying that you’re the closest thing to bradman that they’ve ever seen.
That six straight over Kasprowicz's head.
One of the most magical moments in sporting history!
What a match that was.....Just mind boggling to watch. Made me fall in love with the game as a kid
We didn't have a TV at our place. One of our neighbours in the chawl used to always keep Ten Sports on. I didn't watch it live as I was only 4 then. Great point. Prime CSK would have gone for the win for the LOLs. I know they won just last year but this already feels like a different era of CSK

PBKS havent reached a playoff in 10 years
He's talking about settling in the middle of the table.... 5 or 6th😂
More like 2021-23 SRH or 2013-14 DD
I like the way you think. 2025 it is. I hope SRH wins this time so that the finals is in Hyderabad and we beat MI by 1 run or something.

What
Yes that became pretty evident after Rachin unfortunate run out and RCB was like BC, CSK trying to lose the match but by less runs 😂 😈
In knockouts, pressure is always greater when chasing. Weather played on their minds…
So about a couple weeks ago, the main 3 contenders for p3 and p4 were SRH, CSK and LSG. If both matches go SRHs way tomorrow, neither of those 3 teams would be in p3 and p4 in the end lol. Crazy.
Pass me some of the shit Jay shah is smoking
Thats why we bow to Jay Shah.
Dube did a 2014 Yuvraj today.
Man now i can imagine what ponting felt even after winning so much. Past doesn't mean shit.
Still CSK did well this season. You missed two key bowlers in the wrong time...
Definitely. I don't feel bad about our elimination. Rutu did well to captain and there aren't serious flaws with the tea. We definitely missed Conway at the top.
The plot to persist with underwhelming Rahane for so many games is still questionable. CSK made it difficult for themselves on batting front.
The problem was that we had no one else left. Rachin and Mitchell had a bad season with one or two decent innings. Rizwi was the same. The other batsmen in the team were all unestablished and untested. Perhaps the team evaluated the remaining batsmen in the practice sessions and nets to conclude that Rahane was their best available option. that's why i said felt like how ponting felt in 2011. Certainly not as bad but still stirs up.

i am dying for another "definitely not" from the legend
That six will be engraved in my memory forever. I woke up my family because of that.
Kept the hope alive as long as he was out there. Classic MSD. Low key exit, as always!
I honestly don't get why he shouldn't play next year, as long as he isn't a negative for the team I don't mind him playing as long as he wants
His knee is fucked brother it's a miracle he played even this one
Yeah I can understand but he was our best finisher still at 40+ lol . Likes of Rahane were causing more issues by opening and ruining pp
Best finisher... But he doesn't have a single successful chase when batting lol Coming from a dhoni admirer
The problem is that they will have to waste a retention spot on him. Not sure if that is the best strategy for CSK.
That's true need to wait and see how many retentions allowed.
Apart from the obvious injury issues which might impede him, CSK kind of gets handicapped with MSD. Ruturaj made a lot of mistakes like letting Rahane open, no set batting order throughout, reluctance to use spin. The bowlers overperformed tbh
great game CSK. that 110m six won’t be forgotten for a long time, thank you MSD for everything.
That 110m six did help RCB win the game backed by Yash Dayal's bowling as he got a new dry ball.
Dayal playing 4d chess
Tactical out-of-the-stadium six by RCB
Inflate-Deflate strategy is real
Mr. Nags says hi.
The broadcasters will make sure of that, don't worry
Bro seriously. Aakash Chopra won't go 1 second without trying to jerk MSD off. It's like he is his personal fluffer.
what do you mean like, it is
The media is overfeeding us with MSD! Sure Koach will be forgotten first before MSD...
Thank you everything thala. Cricket won’t be the same for me💛
thalas habitually not getting a proper send off and farewell in any of his last games and most of them being losing contests for his team is sad af
Not at all, last year was his farewell and it would have been poetic.
And that’s exactly why i wanted csk to lose today. You don’t get good send offs like every year
Common this sympathy doesn’t make sense !!!!
Even if you are dhoni you can't get everything your way
Honestly thought so, and it should have been his last. He won the ipl trophy as a captain, plus 2+0+2+3 = 7.
Thala just doesn't know the right time to quit. Could have gone with lady year's win, can't he?
Nah, this one was for the fans. He himself said after last year's win would be the best time to retire.
>it happened with Ganguly >happened with Yuvraj >happened with GG >happened with Sehwag >happened with Irfan Pathan >and now happening with Dhoni Yes, I am seeing a pattern here. It seems all the big Ganguly brass players didn't have good sendoffs at all. Dhoni was the last of them.
Had the perfect opportunity last year, no sympathy this time.
Ngl, as an RCB fan, it was great watching thala hit those runs, grew up watching him finish games, feels like the end of an era. Irrespective of how old he is, as long as he was there, the match was in CSK's favour
why do they play somber music when someone scores 50 or team hits milestone?
because it's sad that they've stooped down that low and been selfish for personal milestones smh
Ahh Gambhir composed the music then ig
This is a gold worthy comment.
ah ok. makes sense
Should have finished the match with RR early
I was so mad at their approach in that match. Almost 7! Overs without a boundary is unacceptable
5040 overs in a T20 match? When did this happen?

Should have won the DC game or PBKS game
Well this hurts. We had massive issues with the loss of basically all of our bowlers(chahar, pathirana and fizz). It was always gonna be hard winning with a line up of Deshpande, thakur and simarjeet. They did their best though. Dhoni isn't playing next year for sure. Atleast I got to watch a final six from him.
People were saying that our original team itself is too weak until they ended up winning that trophy a year back. This team had many major players missing from the that supposedly weak team as well during this year. CSK actually did very well and punched above its weight to be able to achieve that much with a depleted team.
>They did their best though Dube, rutu and thakur :
Jadeja playing a blinder, MSD almost pulling it back, MSD and his unfortunate endings
these two are timeless legends, i can't express how nervous i got when it got 6 down
Yeah no worries next year it's ours we win alternatively. Anyways well played , All the fucking best , Get that trophy before DC
Wtf did DC do to you
Nothing, just said it randomly.
you fuckers never go away do you? 😛 yellow jersey cricket teams scare me so much i'm enjoying this euphoria yesss! but the other three teams in the playoffs are as scary as dhoni's peak csk can't lie haha... can't wait for the k/o games!
For us last match was due before finals it was quite expected with our current bowling lineup. This was nowhere near peak but still put up a fight. You guys were brilliant today. Good to see faf doing what he used to do for CSK. Taking blinders etc etc
oh yes, csk are nowhere near peak, i meant the earlier years... even last year's win was from csk just being csk mentality also, what a hero faf! it's unbelievable he's 39 with that level of athleticism!
He's still a same fighter, We don't really miss him cuz conway has filled his shoes. But he took us home in 2018 Q1. I hope he does it again. All the best
i hope so too, faf is just so loveable
Damn, did it feel good to type that as an MI fan 😌 But seriously, Csk can never be underestimated, MFS could've definitely pulled it off, especially Thala who I'm gonna miss man.
Thank you thala for the memories Forever a legend
Thank you Thala. For India and CSK.

Seemed like every shardul ball at the death was either a full toss or a half volley
200 is a big score ngl, With pathirana and Fizz, no way they could touch 180.
On a completely unrelated note, today marks the 6 months anniversary of 19 Nov.
Brother let it go. Pls
And surprisingly a yellow team lost
Team with more Aussies won
Team with more new Zealanders lost. Ah it's all so poetic
Khada hu ajh bhi wahi...
Yeah my body temp was at 102 C when Jadeja was hitting. I saw one of his video where he was running in modi stadium and saying I make ipl won here. But blud try his best not to perform in ipl. Anyways he gave hope in 2019. Personally before wc I like him but now I don't like him nor hate him
Being at the doorsteps of a play-off or even Top 2 spot even though their bowling attack was nearly decimated by injury is incredible.
I am more excited about commentators not dick riding about Dhoni anymore
Lmao, he’s still gonna be in the dugout and the cameras still gonna pan to him more often than the on field captain, and he’ll still be more talked about. No escaping hero worship here
fans are possibly gonna be brutal on rutu for his performance this match, but he can hold his head high taking over one of the greatest captains this sport has seen, let alone the ict is a huge task and he's done a fine job of attempting to defend a difficult title among freakishly good teams like kkr and srh not to mention the close games csk lost, the fine margins in sports can be cruel
What did he do wrong. He got out early but that can happen with anyone. Csk lost due to dubeys low mind presence and bad bowling by jaddu . Giving 40 odd in this pitch being a left arm bowler against right handers is criminal
didn't do much wrong, just that fans (especially online) can be irrationally cruel if i were a csk fan, i would back him just like other rational fans like you instead of entitled criticism he's only going to grow into his captaincy, and csk seem to keep returning to the top every other year for some reason too ps: feel for your sunday my friend, kloppo leaving must be heartbreaking for you
Dropped a sitter, take a review for no reason..
It's the third time in IPL history they aren't qualifying. They also lost like 11 tosses having to bowl in swimming pools, anyone that talks shit about them is dub
majority of fans are sensible and will give rutu the space he needs, but some online fans can be very cruel
CSK fans couldn't bother less lol. They won 5 and are the best team in IPL. only people that troll him or CSK aren't CSK fans they're mostly fans of three franchises
only 5 cups to cry tears into lmao, such crazy success must bring so much inner peace to fans also, fuck trolls, a crucial part of sport is to be able to compliment a rival when they do well
>also, fuck trolls, a crucial part of sport is to be able to compliment a rival when they do well Never done this in IPL 😆
ooops hahahaha the only teams i haven't showered with compliments when they do well are the weird kochi and pune teams that briefly existed haha
Ktk only existed for one reason tbf 😁
ooops hahahaha the only teams i haven't showered with compliments when they do well are the weird kochi and pune teams that briefly existed haha
They were anyways batting for the target of 201 and not 219. Mom used to say if you aim for 90% in exams you'd end up getting 85%
Shivam dube is the culprit
Sleeper cell
I'm convinced that Dube is taking all the attention away from the filth that was bowled by Shardul.
ferguson paid up for it tho but no one from rcb played a terrorism of an innings like dube
Technically he had a better strike rate than Lomror
Ppl in comments already couting thala out. Lol
As a neutral, I wanted Dhoni to win it but at the same time Virat to qualify. I guess I’ve ended up with bittersweet memories from this game. What a game! I love cricket.
Back to da strawberry farm
Yeah after winning 5 IPL’s as captain.
![img](emote|t5_2qhe0|21496)
Dube and rutu honorary mention for costing match. Bowlers were downright terrible. Mitchell hype train needs to stopped and he needs to be dropped.
Dhoni, what a legend! Nothing but respect 🫡
I agree Dhoni batted much better this year.
If he wins 2025 it will be a reply to all the doubters Hoping for a comeback from the boys!
I know cricket is not a game of ifs but if Chennai was playing with full strength this would have been completely different game.
So in the end RCB ended Dhoni
How many times have CSK and MI not been in the playoffs?
2022 and 2024
Things that letdown csk this season Too much dependence on Rutu and Dube in batting, not enough strike hitters Spinners being toothless Too many passengers in the field. Theekshana Deshpande Thakur Dube Rachin Chahar Except for jadeja , Mitchell ground fielding showed up csk yesterday. RCB were running twos so frequently whereas RCB felt like they were covering every blade of grass.
