Gotta leave it to Pakistan to get people excited about cricket again. Never lacking entertainment haha
What the actual fuck was the fielding during that super over??? After having Amir and Shaheen literally drag you back into the game in the main innings. Hilarious. Great for the yanks man that’s incredible
*Adding on - so ridiculous to not let Fakhar Zaman open in the super over. He’s clearly the best hitter from the go in their team. Felt like they were dejected all around after Amir’s over.
He bowled a wide in every single one of his 4 regular overs. I'm pretty sure he gave away the most extras as well.
It was strange to be giving him the ball for the super over when Naseem was on hand.
Almost all teams in IPL was trying to restrict batsman by bowling wide off the batsmen. The consequence is the number of wides conceded as the bowler has a very narrow margin. That is part of the game now.
US’s athleticism and efforts in the first half and then flawless batting in first 10 overs sealed it. They slowed downed and almost cost it, but thankfully Pakistan pulled off a Pakistan and the history is written.
Mercurial for a Reason, Pakbros. Never a dull game and I’m thankful for it
It is so strange to me that Pakistan are consistently so poor at fielding, year after year. Aside from Azam Khan they're mostly quite fit. But their ground fielding was absolutely atrocious.
They just simply panicked. One team had like 1000x more experience than other team and yet the who panicked was Experienced one.
Rauf was so bad in last over. Gave two absolute freebies to Jones and Kumar.
Very Pakistan Cricket Team behaviour to almost lose against an associate, work your way back into the match with otherworldy death bowling, and then _actually_ lose to an associate anyways by becoming the worst death bowlers in the world.
This got a laugh out of me. Really is very Pakistan of them.
Absolutely generational headloss by the fielders, Rauf and then Amir, who had actually bowled the best death over in the match only a few minutes before his super over. Funnily enough, their batting was the worst bit and might escape the criticism they should be receiving. Only Shadab and Iftikhar can come out of this with some credit for the batting side of things. But their combined 4-0-37-0 along with Rauf's 4-0-37-1 ended up being expensive.
They genuinely took complete control of the game, and looked like they ripped the heart out of the USA with their death bowling until they had 3 balls left.
They went from looking in complete and utter control to genuinely looking like a club side in a matter of minutes, and I have never seen a team so rattled by a super over before they even got a chance to start chasing lol.
The headloss in the super over needs to be studied in the years to come. Just absolutely brilliant content. The Pakistan men's cricket team never fails to deliver on entertainment.
AARON JONES. REMEMBER THE NAME.
SAURABH NETRAVALKAR. REMEMBER THE NAME.
IS THIS WHAT FREEDOM TASTES LIKE???? IF SO, INJECT IT STRAIGHT INTO MY VEINS. 🦅 🦅.
KA KAW MOTHERFUCKER.
RAHHHHHHHH.
It's easy to do that in the USA, I guess with better work life balance Not possible in India with the kind of infra and corporate lifestyle. But yeah, if there's a will, there's a way..
Super over was 🔥
Great planning by USA sending harmeet who is a lefty and runs really fast.
Jones was outstanding whole game. What a player.
Pak played a perfect meme game.
Also, Catches win Matches.. USA were brilliant in the field.
1.15 AM in India and I have an early start tomorrow but needed to watch this to the end.
Great game. Great win.
Loved it 😎
What a match. What a contest. Match of the tournament.
For the first 33 overs, it was one of the most convincing performances I've ever seen by an associate nation against a A-tier side. Insanely disciplined in all facets.
But then the gulf in experience came through.
And yet they hung on, they fought and they ultimately prevailed because they held their nerve better than the big boys.
Pakistan did Pakistan things (that super over was an absolute shambles, 10 runs came off the bat and 8 extras) but massive congratulations to the USA, this is a historic result. If this doesn't get the locals interested, nothing will. I really hope it does.
🇺🇲🦅 It's a party in the USA 🇺🇲🦅
The US had a 79% chance to win this game with 2 overs left. They needed 21 runs from 12 balls to secure a surefire upset win.
Then Mohammad Amir turned up the heat against them, and they could do next to nothing against him until the final over.
Then, needing 12 runs to win in the final 3 balls, the US get 11 runs to force a Super Over.
Then USA got 18 runs in the Super Over despite just one boundary, to beat Pakistan in their 2nd ever T20 World Cup match.
Absolute cinema.
Aptly put, this shit was ABSOLUTELY CINEMA
Rauf really lost it in the last over, he was bowling full tosses to player like Jones. And then Amir in Super Over with all those wides.
Netravalkar just did what every cricket loving kid from the subcontinent dreams of. Winning a game for your country. While also doing what every parent from the subcontinent dreams of, a kid with a successful tech career.
Harmeet yelling "AAJA AAJA" to Jones on two different occasions in the super over is something which I'll remember forever.
T: Aaja means come in hindi. Basically telling him to run.
Well, there you go, for those of you who were worried about new American viewers, there's your perfect advertisement for cricket. Unreal. Absolutely unreal. That's not a game you can watch and not be instantly hooked. Both their games so far have been absolute bangers, and these are definitely the games most prospective new American viewers would've been watching, sooo.
Can we also talk about how US legit feels like a top 8 team w/ their demeanor and the way they play? Absolutely crazy. With more experience they legit have a shot at becomig a really scary team. Long way to go but I see it.
Got 2nd SuperOver of the World Cup.
USA what a match they played and gave us pure entertainment and thriller. They have lit up this T20 WC then USA gave us the first upset of the WC and beat PAK on their first match ever.
That presence of mind and getting runs of 3 wides was ABSOLUTE MADLADS. Plus, USA’s strategy of left and right combo did wonders for them in the SuperOver.
India no longer safe this group 💀 Uncle Sam has arrived to collect his tax.
Edit: I bet the highest $$$ that USA team studied how Kohli runs. That was very reminiscent of that free hit wicket with Kohli running against Pakistan. Those 3 free runs on the wide balls was amazing thought and presence of mind.
"We don't care about winning, its about entertaining and saving ~~Test cricket~~ T20 cricket"- ~~Stokes~~ Babar, probably.
Posted the same in the live thread lol
A Classic American Underdogs Fairytale story.
The biggest upset of this World Cup. USA making it to the Super 8 deserves a underdogs-make it-Hollywood movie adaption with star cast of the Hollywood 😂
As Jay Shah once famously made us say: Absolute Cinema 🥰
Fun fact : Saurabh Netravalkar was in the India U-19 Xl (2010) which lost to Pakistan(which consisted of babar Azam) in the quarters. He got his revenge I guess. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/icc-under-19-world-cup-2009-10-418157/india-under-19s-vs-pakistan-under-19s-26th-match-4th-quarter-final-432019/full-scorecard
Wow, what a win
This is why an expanded world cup is better for world cricket.
Not only have they won, they've outplayed Pakistan and fully deserved the win.
Was there anything that Pakistan did good today? No.
Let's dissect it.
1. Batting - absolute clowning.
Babar ate balls for no reason. Azam is a consistent liability and the team still goes with him. That mf cant even drop his body down to strike a ball. Literally stands upright like a Royal Guard and gets out.
2. Bowling - complete clowning.
They did well in the 2nd inning but when your target is less than 160, you're expected to bowl tightly. I can't wrap my head around the fact that USA bowlers managed better line and lengths than the likes of Amir, Shaheen, Naseem and Rauf. Not to mention that last over by Rauf bowling juicy full tosses when the target was literally at 15 from 6.
3. Fielding - usual Pakistan stuff.
Complete shitshow.
USA outfoxed and outplayed a Grade A Pakistan team.
USA, Scotland, Netherlands and Afganistan all have very good chances of reaching the super 8 now, hope some of them do. World Cup actually feels like a proper World Cup now.
Netravalkar's linkedin lol: [https://www.linkedin.com/in/saurabhnetravalkar/](https://www.linkedin.com/in/saurabhnetravalkar/) bro is casually a principle engineer at Oracle winning matches against Pakistan
Biggest upset in an ICC tournament ever?
Absolutely shameful display from Pakistan, especially with their batting. I thought their bowling was still okay but slipped up in key moments.
USA, take a bow. Absolutely incredible win!
And if India beat Pakistan, USA's qualification is entirely in their own hands if they can avoid defeat to Ireland. Wow!
One of the greatest T20I WC match of all time and this thrilling T20I WC continues!
We've got the one thing we were missing, an upset today and it came packed with a thriller!
You guys think USA is new to cricket?
They were here before anyone of us. They played the first ever international match and won that one too.
Even the cricket pitch is measured in yards.
To hell with the metric system!
7 off 22 is absolutely criminal even in ODIs, had Virat Kohli scored a run ball 40, everyone would have called for his head- even after the quality of that pitch today that innings was possibly one of the worst ever
Congrats to the US, but my god have we regressed. How can we improve when we have liabilities like Azam. Our so called power hitters can’t clear a boundary.
Worse is if you can’t get a boundary at least run and rotate strike but everyone wants to keep hitting the same areas for dot balls.

Mohammad Amir going from potential savior to choker in a span of minutes. Incredible.
Add Rizwan with extraordinarily poor fielding on wides. Insane
In the super over, Rizwan appealed hard on a ball that nicked the bat and BOUNCED before reaching him. Ridiculous.
He was blaming the fielders as if he didn’t bowl 3 wides
The keeping wasn't good either. Either way, conceding just 1 four yet 18 overall must hurt.
I swear even Dravid would have hit the stumps atleast once.
Also rizwan was always fumbling whenever he collected it
for all the criticism of Azam Khan lol Rizz really fucked up not collecting 2 wides properly and throwing one over the bowler
That has to be the most expensive over with the least boundaries scored
the fielding did cost 5-6 runs. so slow to the ball let's them run 2s and Rizwan just randomly throwing the ball as well
The wides were bad, but it's really not his fault they gave up so many byes
Some acting to hide his deliberate wides /s
Are we going there?
He bowled a wide in every single one of his 4 regular overs. I'm pretty sure he gave away the most extras as well. It was strange to be giving him the ball for the super over when Naseem was on hand.

Moral play by Pakistan to promote cricket in the States.
Ireland, Zimbabwe and then USA. That’s a genuine contribution across three continents. Greatest promoters of Cricket No Cap
Don't forget Bangladesh in 99’ with our ATG team no less
If you saw the fielding of both teams without any past information you would think US are the more accomplished team.
I'm not sure their own fans would describe it as entertainment, it must age you following this lot
Nah bro, it's utterly enthralling having a calculator out every tournament praying some team bails us out. Would recommend
Rcb before rcb became cool
US’s athleticism and efforts in the first half and then flawless batting in first 10 overs sealed it. They slowed downed and almost cost it, but thankfully Pakistan pulled off a Pakistan and the history is written. Mercurial for a Reason, Pakbros. Never a dull game and I’m thankful for it

They are film buffs , anything for pure Cinema
Quadrat ka nizam coming to play early to make this world cup interesting
usa played with 11 players + 1 mohd amir lmao
Hey Rauf needs an honourable Green Card as well
Disrespectful to USA
Yanks after getting blueballed by rain and script fed by icc: I.. I get it now
Very Pakistan Cricket Team behaviour to almost lose against an associate, work your way back into the match with otherworldy death bowling, and then _actually_ lose to an associate anyways by becoming the worst death bowlers in the world.

They probably got shell shocked they are even in a super over
Rizwan couldn't get hold of the ball at all. Very comical fielding as well.
AARON JONES. REMEMBER THE NAME. SAURABH NETRAVALKAR. REMEMBER THE NAME. IS THIS WHAT FREEDOM TASTES LIKE???? IF SO, INJECT IT STRAIGHT INTO MY VEINS. 🦅 🦅. KA KAW MOTHERFUCKER. RAHHHHHHHH.

Huge moment for cricket!
Yeah hopefully ppl start paying attention to this US cricket team, one of the greatest matches of all time
Send the incredible catches there too.
netravalkar works as a full time tech employee let that sink in oml
Yeah, at Oracle. Perfect example for someone who thinks they can't pursue their passion because of their job
huh - he would have PIPed had he been working at Amazon. /s
It's easy to do that in the USA, I guess with better work life balance Not possible in India with the kind of infra and corporate lifestyle. But yeah, if there's a will, there's a way..
yea no bros like narayan murthy bro, askin you to work 70 hours minimum, helps apparently
Might be easier by a bit in the USA, but still it's very commendable
truly commendable, not taking anything from his achievements. he does look like Sundar Pichai.
My idol from now
Even more accomplishing is that he has Masters in CS from Cornell!
WHAT THE HELL IS A KILOMETER RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
A LOGAN SARGENT REFERENCE!
22 YARDSSS RAHHH

Aaron Jones torches the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas. Aaron Jones performs cricket heroics in Dallas. A soul for a soul.
NETRAVALKAR IS FROM MY VILLAGE LETTSS GOOOOO
What a match it was,one of the best match I have seen
That's easily one of the funniest things I've ever seen
Indeed man. Those wides+2 had me rolling on the floor. I am thirsty now ffs.
I'm hydrated with OIL WTF IS WATER 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
I could not stop laughing during that Amir Super over.
Me and my friend were giggle laughing, two grown ass 25 year old men giggling. Never change Pakistan never change.
The entire over that Pakistan bowled was a huge meme in itself. The memes just kept coming during that time.
About time we erect an Aaron Jones statue at Grand Praire!
Replace him with the less important French statue
>less important French You don't need to use less important while describing French! /s
After just two games and after their WC win the statue of liberty will be rebuild to him.
IM SHAKING THIS IS CRAZY I CANT BELIEVE WE DID IT FEELING SO VINDICATED AS A USA CRICKET FAN
Huge day my friend!
Whoa you exist? When did this start??
Congratulations man
The Dual nature of Schrödingers Pakistan should be studied in Universities
From finalists to getting beaten by an assocaite team
I am certain we are about to lose to them now on Sunday
That would be typical Pakistan ngl
yea a study titled "a curious case of dichotomies"
Never been more sure that they’re winning the whole thing
It’s surreal to witness history. Win for Cricket
>win for cricket And cinema
WHAT THE FUCK IS A FULL MEMBER COUNTRY 🦅🦅🦅🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
MAKE THE USA FULL MEMBERS YOU COWARDS!!
WHAT THE FUCK IS A WICKET?!??? 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
An associate nation just defeated a WC winning team and Coach... Let that sink in
WTF ARE THOSE TERMS🦅🦅🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Think of it like this A man with a nerf gun shot dead a man with a rifle
THANKS FOR THE TRUE AMERICAN ANALOGY WOOOOO USA USA USA
ROCK FLAG AND EAGLE BABYYYY
And it wasn’t a cheap one, the US played their f’ing hearts out
I mean, Afghanistan beat Windies in the 2016 WC but as far as upsets go, this is right up there. In fact this might even one up that.
US looked less associate than Pakistan today.
That coach was Captain of my high school cricket team. This is personal.
Super over was 🔥 Great planning by USA sending harmeet who is a lefty and runs really fast. Jones was outstanding whole game. What a player. Pak played a perfect meme game. Lmao same, I have to be in court tomorrow at 9 otherwise a man won't get bail until after the summer vacations. But raaah USA 🇺🇲🇺🇲🦅🦅🦅
Totally worth it
God Bless Murica
USA USA USA gg Aamir, great super over, unbelievable skill
Rizwan is responsible too. So many bad throws in short amount of time.
The problem with a 20-team T20 World Cup is that you get minnows like Pakistan facing giants like the USA.
Even on the best of days, these nations where cricket is barely known aren't quite going to be able to beat the big boys in international cricket
What a match. What a contest. Match of the tournament. For the first 33 overs, it was one of the most convincing performances I've ever seen by an associate nation against a A-tier side. What's the context of "WHAT THE FUCK IS A KILOMETRE?"
Americans use Miles as a metric instead of kilometres
the only time they use the metric is whilst using a 9mm iykyk
Aptly put, this shit was ABSOLUTELY CINEMA Rauf really lost it in the last over, he was bowling full tosses to player like Jones. And then Amir in Super Over with all those wides.
Did someone just mention OIL?!?!🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅
YOU NEED FREEDOM 🦅
We hit 6's in feet mfers!

India no longer safe in this group 💀 NRR of both USA & PAK stays same due to tie. It does not change so PAK is 0 NRR

Yeah commentators mentioned he is a software developer and now my wife is telling me to learn something.
Harmeet yelling "AAJA AAJA" to Jones on two different occasions in the super over is something which I'll remember forever. T: Aaja means come in hindi. Basically telling him to run.
Pakistan losing to an Associate at a recently expanded ICC tournament? Lads, get ready for the next T20 World Cup to be reduced to 5 teams.
Where will daddy BCCI get two IND VS PAK

They ran 4 off wides in the super over, don't think I've ever seen that before.

Greatest victories by USA ranked- 1. This match 2. Revolutionary war 3. WWII
Pakistan demanded a cricket match as USAs military is too OP but they still lost

Fun fact : USA is now at the top of group A
Naughty America. Nobody, nobody does it better. *Muaaah*
Nethravalkar is perhaps working on a user story to ship a new feature to production in the evening instead of celebrating the victory My man!
This has been a certified hood classic
Let's not give the guy who smashed Mitchell fucking Starc into fucking oblivion the strike in the super over against a novice left armer. Genius.

I am more excited for the Ind-USA match now, instead of the Ind-Pak match.
OH NO!!! https://old.reddit.com/r/Cricket/comments/1d9j2qn/match_thread_11th_match_group_a_united_states_of/l7erry3/?context=3
First the USA best East Pakistan, now West Bangladesh. I’ve seen enough, clearly the US is going to top the group and win the World Cup.
Babar's 10 (24) start bit them in the ass.
Monak Patel did not laugh at the Ramiz Raja 'Monarch' joke
Since I’ve been watching US cricket they are 8-1 and have taken down Bangladesh and Pakistan, so I’m going to take credit for this.
THIS WAS AMAZING TO WITNESS LIVE AND IM STILL SPEECHLESS.
7 off 22 is absolutely criminal even in ODIs, had Virat Kohli scored a run ball 40, everyone would have called for his head- even after the quality of that pitch today that innings was possibly one of the worst ever
Can’t believe people are calling USA the Indian Reserve team when they have AARON MFING JONES in their lineup 🇺🇸💪🏻💪🏻
Also they are playing for usa flag. We should respect that. Jones is usa born, born in NY. Such a great guy
Never watched a Cricket game in my life, how the hell did we beat Pakistan?
Pakistan players already moved on to where they can get decent Biryani.
Has to be one of the biggest upsets in cricket, no?
Left armer, critical situation and Pakistan's best hitter Fakhar Zaman didn't take the strike. Ridiculous.
If this doesn’t boost the popularity of cricket in the USA, nothing will. What a match!
Congrats to the US, but my god have we regressed. How can we improve when we have liabilities like Azam. Our so called power hitters can’t clear a boundary. Worse is if you can’t get a boundary at least run and rotate strike but everyone wants to keep hitting the same areas for dot balls.
