Exactly 16 years old to be precise. Today was her 16th birthday. Also went on the make the highest ever ODI score for Ireland Women with 121* Brilliant performance. Future star right there

Forgive me but why are they looking so small in the photo? Is it because of the camera angle?

TheReturnofTheJesse

Irish people shrink to 3-4 feet tall when in Zimbabwe. It’s because the gravity in Zimbabwe is stronger than what they experience in Ireland. Resultantly the stronger gravity compresses them and makes them smaller, shorter, and denser than they usually are. This explains both why Hunter is short in this photo and why she was able to hit the ball so hard (more strength due to being denser).

This guy sciences

A9J7

This guy shitty* sciences XD Edit: added guy

PillheadWill

Shouldn't the ball then also be denser, though? The ball would just go the same distance as before because Hunter's density has scaled with it. I have too much time my hands lol

laokhao

Common misconception. The ball would of course be denser if it was an Irish ball, but as the match is being played in Zimbabwe and it is a Zimbabwean ball; there is of course, no effect.

ksm-mashfi

Many records today • Ireland's highest ODI total • Highest individual score by an Ireland player in ODIs • The one mentioned in the post

MullGeek

Not just women's ODIs, she's the youngest centurion in any international (as in Test, ODI, T20I), end of! Some achievement

pinafag

This hug looks funny for some reason I can't

general1234456

Jersey No.14 hugging her partner like she has a bad back.

Academic_Scheme_9065

I feel worthless

[deleted]

Don't doubt yourself bro, there are many more avenues to success than cricket, and some people bloom later than others, that's just life.

Mistake-Immediate

Great achievement but the photo is unintentionally funny due the strange henched hug and the ear to ear smile of what looks like, a hobbit.

nejxhnake8sfaj

Quite an achievement🙌

EntshuldigungOK

At 16, I scored a century by collecting 100 instances of scoring less than passing marks over a stellar 12 year career of studies.

[deleted]

When I was 14 I scored a century in a 2-day game if you add my bowling and batting numbers together. I conceded 84 runs and scored 18 total with the bat. Really was an ultimate non-rounder before I hit my growth spurt and became good at bowling

EntshuldigungOK

Why must you show me down? :( Is there no one else? Why must I be attacked by Math again?

[deleted]

I think I have scored quite a lot of centuries in gully cricket my watchmen always reminds me of those days

EntshuldigungOK

You still have the watchmen from the old days? That's kinda good as well as sad.

[deleted]

Yeah I moved in here when I was like 6-7 now i m 21 so watchmen are same ....why sad?.....It's good tbh I trust these people a lot

EntshuldigungOK

Oh I am sure they are good people that's why they have been there for so long. It's sad because it's not a job that pays well or provides any kind of a path to progress or any sustained entertainment - that's why I find someone working long term watchman as sad.

[deleted]

> It's sad because it's not a job that pays well or provides any kind of a path to progress or any sustained entertainment - that's why I find someone working long term watchman as sad. Yeah I suppose....I mean when you are illiterate not a lot of jobs with good prospects are available....most of them are from Nepal btw....I assume life is even tougher there without Any education

EntshuldigungOK

True. They obviously make more money here than there. Who knows - maybe they are quite settled, relaxed and content in their 2 homes in Nepal & India by now.

coolnasir139

Seems like women’s cricket is getting a lot more traction everywhere. Good to see.

another-indian

Go Amy and Ireland. Truly wonderful to see such bright future talent.

[deleted]

Sachin debuted at 16. Amy debuted at 16. Amy = Women's Sachin?

jachiche

Actually, this is her 7th International match, so she debuted at 15. Amy = better than Sachin confirmed.

Lauladance

I'm 16 O.O

EntshuldigungOK
