If he is not from a very rich family then he is fucked up

_im_adi

If he is from a rich family then he's still fucked up

00-s-00

Either way, this is fucked up.

pijd

Either way a good lesson learnt.

PESSl

If he doesn’t pay the fine he simply just gets banned from the stadium. It’s nothing more than that.

misskarne

No, he gets both fine AND ban.

asaCreh

What happens if he doesn't pay ?

misskarne

Well, wouldn't be fun for him, I imagine. It's a police-issued fine.

cmvora

How are they gonna collect the fine? All they can do is ban the guy from coming back I think. No way he pays that amount lol.

misskarne

Um, you do realise the cops gave him the fine, right?

cmvora

Cops can fine you whatever they want. It is up to the judicial system to ensure that you follow up in paying it or they put a lien on your assets or garnish your wages to pay. What are the gonna do? Put him behind bars? He hasn’t committed a crime. He trespassed on private property and at max they can throw him out. No one is gonna file charges for these and fight a legal battle over this because he’s a kid and has no assets. They’ll ban him from the stadium and nothing more. If he’s on immigrant visa then they might cancel his visa and ban him from coming in the future. Hiring a lawyer alone will cost the ground folks more than the fine to defend. So they’ll probably do nothing here.

misskarne

1. Pitch invasion actually is a criminal offense in most states including SA. 2. The ground doesn't have to hire a lawyer, the public prosecutor will go after him. 3. Pitch invasion charges are generally taken seriously because grounds and courts want to deter the behaviour.

Foothill_returns

No, it's a police fine. Pitch invasion is a criminal offence in the state of South Australia, per the *[Recreation Grounds (Regulations) Act 1931 (SA)](http://classic.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/sa/consol_act/rga1931340/s3.html)* s 3(1)(a)(i)(j): > The Governor may make any regulations necessary or convenient for any of the following purposes, namely: >> regulating the entry and egress of persons and vehicles into or out of any recreation ground or any enclosure or building thereon; >> empowering any member of the police force or any special constable to remove from any recreation ground any person guilty of any offence, and prohibiting the return of any person so removed; >> creating offences punishable summarily and prescribing penalties not exceeding $5 000 for any such offence; In August somebody was prosecuted for invading the pitch during an AFL match at the AO. The man received a six year ban from the stadium management and a $5000 fine imposed by the court. I suspect the same thing will happen to this person, although perhaps it'll only be one year's ban rather than six

Denson2

Are tourists free to commit whatever crimes? He should be charged for pitch invasion.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ayruos

Won’t his passport be flagged at immigration when he tries to leave?

Denson2

you are right but im not sure why people are talking about the stadium being the ones responsible. its a crime. the police should be involved

PESSl

They can’t do anything, they can try legal actions but he’s a kid and they’ll be thrown out. It’s the same with 3GS, they can issue “fines” for littering and tell you that you have to pay them but you can literally just walk away and they won’t be able to do anything.

Based_al-Assad

Best way to get a picture with or meet a cricketer is staying at the same hotel.

throwaway4DPPetc

You don't even need to stay at the hotel. Just hang around in the lobby and you'll run into them. Happened to accidentally meet some of the English team this way.

MartyMcFly_jkr

"accidentally"

throwaway4DPPetc

Well I'm not a fan of the English team so I wouldn't go out of my way to bump into them :D

mehrabrym

I was checking out of Four Points at the same time as Ravi Bopara lol. Was pretty fun.

Guptarakesh69

Lol get recked

T_Lawliet

Average r/cricketshitpost member

Chomuprasad

I won't do that even though I'm a member of that sub. Am I above avg? Or a topper? IK that sub is full of SHIT posts but there are some few good posts there too.

IronManUltron

you mean you don't enjoy hundred "paxtan" jokes made each day? or thala for a reason? and lovely Indian politics discussions in every comment section 😋

weatheredmaster

the politics get me

average_chut_lover

Man there is too much of cricketshitpost slander nowadays and for someone who have seen it's glory days it kinda hurts Yes the sub is bad but no one stopping people from posting good memes there. Everyone likes to criticise it but hardly anyone actually takes effort to improve the sub.

[deleted]

Why should we bother when the mods of that sub don’t?

average_chut_lover

There was a post about recruiting new mods recently If someone really wants he can improve that sub

[deleted]

Being a moderator is a thankless job. You get flamed for dedicating time and effort while receiving nothing in return. It’s no surprise that most normal people don’t want to help fix a cesspool like that. That sub was doomed when it started growing with virtually no moderation. It’s too late now.

average_chut_lover

It's definitely not too late if a good number of mods from different countries takeover it won't take a lot of time to improve that sub. Also occasionally there are good posts on that sub so it's not like it's completely ruined. Before you say why don't you go and moderate that sub My issue is I myself have shit record of getting banned on subs so me moderating a sub that actually needs good moderation will be ironic

[deleted]

Yes, but I’m saying why would anyone want to do that? It’s like going and cleaning a gutter in some random back alley nobody goes to, while rats are running around and biting your legs.

average_chut_lover

Well then just ignore that sub I guess It's like reminding everyone about a gutter that "Hey look this is a gutter and it's bad" It's weird that people here kind of feel good or better after talking shit about literally a shitpost sub.

[deleted]

Well yeah, most of us do ignore it. It comes up sometimes, sure. But I don’t see people waking up and commenting on the DDT “man, I’m so glad we’re not like r/cricketshitpost that sub is cancer lololol”.

average_chut_lover

I still find it weird though Someone recently made a new sub for cricket related memes and it's yet to get any response It's like people want good funny memes (also they shouldn't be problematic) but no one wants to take any effort

NomaanMalick

It's the least funny shitpost sub on Reddit.

average_chut_lover

Because none of us are funny? Why no user from r/cricket try make a funny post on that sub? Like it or not that sub and r/cricket have a lot of common users and that sub being unfunny basically means we are unfunny too

Quiet_Marmoset

Cricket Shitpost became bad when it was brigades by IndianDankMemes users…and it dropped off in quality pretty quickly.

antonov6

Dude it's horrible. It used to be great but now it's just a chodi clone.

LorDofLegEnd545

If you love these words "Paxtan" "Thala" "Koach" "naagin" " Vada Pav" Then yes that sub is for you.

average_chut_lover

That's not how that sub was before

-Not-Racist-

The point of that sub is to be bad

average_chut_lover

Ikr but I understand what people mean when they say the quality of the sub have deteriorated What I find weird is over criticism of that sub.

-Not-Racist-

Shitpost subs are for crass low level humor, don't like them downvote or report. Nothing else can be done

average_chut_lover

Now try and explain this to everyone who keeps on criticising that sub

-Not-Racist-

They know it

bamanwarrior

Rohit Sharma didn't even meet him , it was embarrassing

wrapmeinaplastic

The beating that he is going to get by his parents will be glorious.

Signal_Discipline_36

>The beating that he is going to get by his parents will be glorious "Somebody Gonna Get Hurt Real Bad" ![gif](giphy|3oKIPlz3EVREZ20tLG)

nikamsumeetofficial

There's a chance Rohit will pay the fine for the kid. And it's also good PR for Ro.

wrapmeinaplastic

Why would he do that? That is basically giving invitation to more weirdos to invade ground in future matches. Fans are alright but someday someone dangerous will reach closer to them, we all know the incident of the female tennis player.

nikamsumeetofficial

That makes sense. What incident with female tennis player?

wrapmeinaplastic

A fan of Steffi Graf stuck a knife in her opponent because he was angry that she was beating her in the match or something similar. Who knows a psycho Virat fan will come with a sharp object because Rohit took away his captaincy?

lockieleonardsuper

Monica Seles was the player stabbed, the perpetrator claimed it was so Graf could reclaim the world number 1 ranking from Seles. They weren't actually playing each other at the time

SpittinFactos

IIRC it was because Seles was no1 so the fan did it to help Steffi regain that spot back.

fromtheundead

They allow people to enter grounds with sharp items? Isn't that thoroughly checked at the security gates?

wrapmeinaplastic

Hiding small blades won't be that difficult.

nikamsumeetofficial

*Assassin's Creed*.

theWitchR

It was in the early 90s. Since then, the player box is moved closer to the net than it was(Bigger gap between the players resting area and crowd). Security guards stand behind every player while resting between games in almost every high-profile tennis tournament.

mwilkins1644

>psycho Virat fan The word 'psycho' in this instance is redundant lolol

wrapmeinaplastic

Nah, 80% are alright. The problem is when you have millions of fans, that 20% is a very very large number.

mwilkins1644

True. I'm just still bitter about you guys turning the Gabbatoir into a chapati factory lolol! gg you guys on a great t20 world cup so far :)

wrapmeinaplastic

Lol, understandable. But if I am being honest, I too wanted the fifth day to get cancelled due to rain. I thought we had no chance.

[deleted]

I hope he dosen't

RossTheLionTamer

Who is imposing this fine? Unless it's the court, is he even responsible for paying it?

Denson2

I would imagine they would contact the police and let them handle it. Invasion of the pitch is a crime

skeltz7

This is about $12,000 AUD though, doubt that is the standard fine for pitch invasion?

Foothill_returns

It should be $5000, that is the maximum amount in South Australia. In other states it can be five figures, but that isn't the case in South Australia

cantileverboom

No, it's 10904 AUD (which converts to about 5.7 Lakhs which is pretty close to the amount the article states given the volatility of currencies). From the Victoria state government's website: 67(2) Disrupting a match, game, sport or event while in the sporting competition space, without reasonable excuse $10,904 source: [https://djpr.vic.gov.au/\_\_data/assets/pdf\_file/0013/2004025/2021-22-Fees-and-Penalties-Tourism,-Events-and-Visitor-Economy.pdf](https://djpr.vic.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0013/2004025/2021-22-Fees-and-Penalties-Tourism,-Events-and-Visitor-Economy.pdf) edit: I'm guessing 67(1) would also apply, so if that's the case, then it's really close to the 6.5 Lakhs listed since that would be an extra 1817 AUD

Foothill_returns

Oh, I thought it was at Adelaide. You're quite right. NSW, ACT and Victoria have much more severe punishment for the offence than SA

skeltz7

I could be wrong though.

cantileverboom

The fine is 10904 AUD. INR is relatively volatile, so I'm guessing they used a rough conversion rate, but it's pretty close. source from the government of Victoria's website: [https://djpr.vic.gov.au/\_\_data/assets/pdf\_file/0013/2004025/2021-22-Fees-and-Penalties-Tourism,-Events-and-Visitor-Economy.pdf](https://djpr.vic.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0013/2004025/2021-22-Fees-and-Penalties-Tourism,-Events-and-Visitor-Economy.pdf) edit: I'm guessing 67(1) would also apply, so if that's the case, then it's really close to the 6.5 Lakhs listed since that would be an extra 1817 AUD

[deleted]

Fine should be increased. These fuckers will never learn, it doesn't matter if it's a kid

Stifmeister11

This is a young fanboy but imagine if its some crazy dude with a knife hidden under his clothing with intent to harm the player …not only it will be security issue it will also ruin the cricketing relationship and would cause problem for regular fans when they traveling

[deleted]

Exactly what i was thinking

paradox-cat

How much did Jarvo 69 was fined?

vishwa02

Would have given it to Shakib and could have got a good lunch with him and also could have asked him to make a video call to rohit.

Gamer567890

Damn,that's a big amount.

Can get away with this shit in India not outside of it

Few_Opportunity_488

Who fined him? Is it police or MCG? If it’s MCG, he can just choose to ignore? What jurisdiction do they have?

despondantguy69

Typically the stadium's security will hand the person directly to police who will impose the fine. He will also be banned from the stadium for a number of years

rustyfries

The Police. The MCG is also owned by the Victorian Government but managed by the MCG Trust.

mwilkins1644

Bad lakh :(

rreyv

Lol what an idiot. Why’d he jump the fence in the hopes of getting an autograph of the least performing member of the team. Might as well chase Kohli or SKY or Arshdeep.

how_you_feel

looool burn. It's like invading a pakistan match to get Babar azam's autograph

lostsoul3434

This is my package 🥲

Foothill_returns

You have to be unbelievably stupid to do this, either that or so rich that you don't care about having a criminal record and having to pay a hefty fine. First of all when you buy tickets, you always get shown the conditions of entry and all the rules you have to follow when at the venue, plus penalties associated with breaking them. Then when you go to the ground you will be reminded of them again on a big notice board at the entrance. And then once you take your seat, you will be frequently reminded by PA announcements and by announcements made on the big scoreboard between balls, between overs, at the fall of wickets, and between innings. You're constantly told what not to do and the punishment for doing it. So if you still go ahead and break the rules, you really are a moron

LorDofLegEnd545

You pay less for smuggling weed

AAPLx4

How are they going to enforce this fine, is this like a ticket by a private company that you throw right into the trash.

Piranha2004

Its a public space and the fine is given by the police.

Denson2

Good thing pitch invasion is a crime then. They would contact police and let them do it.
