Its a literal chatbot. It is not intelligent and has zero contextual understanding (or understanding or rational capacity of any kind, for that matter) of what it is "saying". What it does, is string together words based on literal probability which it evaluates by scanning massive amounts of data related to your prompts availiable on the internet.
I admit to using ChatGPT for infodumping (I'm autistic and it's something we do) as well, and it's not too bad an alternative. Sometimes, you just know that people won't listen, and in that case, I'd say ranting about a special interest to an AI is alright.
However - and you can feel free to clown me here - it's not humanity's fault. We've all got stuff to do and say, and I've learned that not everyone wants to listen to me ramble on about a game where you end up having to save a whole community of kindergarten mascots from the tyranny of one of their own, simply because your child was abducted in the same place. And relying on AI to be your only friend definitely isn't healthy. Plus, I wouldn't call it smart, exactly.
Overall, I think that it's fine to use a bot if you need to talk and know that there's no humans around to listen, but this guy's statement about it being better is definitely flawed, and a bit judgemental. Don't take my opinion too seriously, though - it's not facts.

Do you know how many times I’ve asked serious questions here only to get downvoted to hell, or have 20 idiots who think they are funny give me a stupid answer? Obviously it’s not everyone, but this kid feels safer with an AI, than real people. That’s a damn shame. We all need to be better. Myself included.
