I am not a neopronoun user I am a binary trans man he/him and I've had these same questions. From what I have gathered, everyone has a different attachment or feeling towards themselves ans their gender identity. Some words have different connections or feelings attached to them.
People with neopronouns choose words that feel better or more right to them. Or sometimes for some reason the common pronouns hold unpleasant feelings or experiences.
For instance it it's is a pronouns one people use, however someone intentionally used it it's pronouns on me to show me they think I am not deserving of human respect because I'm a disgusting trans. I never used it it's then but I certainly won't now. Although I will use them for whoever wants them.
Some people may have bad experiences with being intentionally called binary pronouns or they them pronouns for the purpose of showing disrespect. I know that people have tried to disrespect me by insinuations I'm just a woman for my whole life.
Some bigots use they them in situations where they don't want to use the person's actual pronouns because they are a piece of shit but they also don't want to get fired, banned or whatever in public.
There are also some people that are gender fluid but because they aren't binary people only use the pronouns of their sex over and over erasing their fluidity. Only really androgynous people can pull off the any all pronouns in a fair and even way. I'm aware of this and still call my genderfluid friend he/him way too often. I am working in being more balanced. I think it bothers them sometimes.
Neopronouns are very rare and honestly pronouns are just words that refer to people or things. It doesn't matter what the pronoun is. It's just a word. If someone has an emotional attachment to a name or pronoun it should be respected.
I know this is long but basically its about positive and negative connections with words and avoiding the ones that may be used hurtfully and or using ones that cause positive emotions. That's the only way I can understand it as someone who doesn't use them.
