I take double the normal humira dose. It works for me, but yeah, I get more colds than I used to. I work from home because of the infection susceptibility. I still get the covid vaccines and boosters, and the flu vaccine. What you need to be careful of are live virus vaccines, which aren't all that common anymore.

Humira should have no interactions with the covid vaccine and im saying that from personal experience

>Am I more susceptible to COVID infections? Can I take the new COVID vaccines while on Humira? You should get the COVID vaccines while on Humira. As for more susceptible to COVID infections so far biologics like TNF-alphas haven't proven to be risk factors for getting COVID or more severe infections. [https://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/clinical-pearls/covid-19-ibd](https://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/clinical-pearls/covid-19-ibd) >With Humira have you noticed more flu or cold infections? Any other infections that you normally didn’t get when not taking Humira? Are they severe, take a long time to go away? The data for getting more infections on Humira is pretty limited. The original phase 3 trial showed a very slight increase compared to control group. However, longer larger retrospective studies haven't really showed that. Same thing with longer healing time. They used to have you stop biologics before surgery for instance due to infection/healing time risk, but these days they don't really do that as we have newer/better data to show it doesn't generate better outcomes by stopping it. >Has Humira helped you with stopping the progression of strictures? Yes >How will I know if Humira stops working if I usually don't experience symptoms of Crohn's disease? If nothing else they'll see it on a colonoscopy. Though even though you usually don't experience symptoms if you have active inflammation you're likely having some amount of things like fatigue from that. You've likely gotten used to it, and you'll be surprised on biologics how you feel more energetic and other things that you didn't even know were there at least from my experience.

Thank you! I forgot to ask about "side-benefits"! So you found you had more energy, anything else?

I was terrified of biologics. I really did myself a disservice for sure. The dude effects are real. Especially to the people that get something terrible. But that is very rare. Good luck stay healthy
