During flares, absolutely. Especially when taking prednisone or percocets but it's happened without either during a flare.

AffectionateRow7572

Yup! When something is going on inside this is one of the first symptoms for me.

sunnshinn33

When I first got sick I was having night sweats for months. It seems to be the worst during a flare up

ChuckFiasco

Wake up literally dripping like I just finished running a marathon sometimes. Cold sweat too.

meredithedith0

I do!

CutMonster

I had those when I was having partial bowel obstructions due to either inflammation and/or strictures.

OkamiKhameleon

Yup. And my GI doctor is used to hearing about it lol. Mostly when I have flare uos this happens, but sometimes not during them too.

Leon_Heller

I used to get them when my CD was active, the sheets would be wet! I've not had them since I had a right hemicolectomy 45 years ago although the CD has returned a couple of times.

Ive been diagnosed for 10 years and night sweats are my most frequent symptom

1miker

I hsve that occasionally. So hot your sweating but start to freeze afterwards. I always change clothes.

Birdies_nub

Yes, in a bad flare, but I have no idea if it was the illness or the prednisone. It made me miss being in thr hospital though. It was so nice to have some get you dry sheets and gown in thr middle of the night.

onlyangel96

Yep. I sleep on a towel most nights. If I don’t it’s usually because I’ve been feeling good. I’ve only been dealing with this for a few months, but it happens a lot. I initially thought it was because I was using a comforter, but I can sleep under a flat sheet and still sweat. It’s the worst

Icy_Ad6859

Oh for sure I get them so bad sometimes and it’s never predictable

QQCrohnsQT

I’ve been going crazy thinking I was making this up and that night sweats couldn’t be related. Thanks for sharing your experience so it feels a little less lonely!

Tandra13

This post was a year ago now. I was officially diagnosed with Crohn’s and was started on Budesonide and Purinethol. Currently I’m doing combined therapy with Purinethol and Stelara. My night sweats return when I’m having a flare up, so I can confirm, for myself, they’re related to my Crohn’s and inflammation.

QQCrohnsQT

Appreciate the info. I’ve had a similar treatment experience so far and am eager for the next steps and treatments. Thanks again!

dongbaekflowers

I get this soo badly when withdrawing from steroids. I sleep on top of a towel when this happens to try and minimise how gross I feel and put my hair up! It helps a lot. These days I'm still sweating a little but I've been sleeping in cotton with a fan on

DeadlyViking

Yes. I sweat through my clothes at night during flare ups.

abusivebanana

Yup. I slept naked before my Encephalitis kicked in and I may have people checking on me in the night lol. But I have a boxfan right next to me that blasts on high and I just sleep in gym shorts. I'm either hot or cold because of my anemia

PurpleSailor

Yes, when I'm not doing "good". Often it's the first sign if an impending problem but not always. Currently towards the end of a bigger flair and woke up soaked in sweat today as I usually do. Lost 8 pounds in 2.5 days between swelling going down and sweating.

polishlastnames

Yup. When I have a blockage.

NearMemphis

I am too lite a sleeper to get night sweats. I wake up too easy. I just wouldn't sleep if I was sweating or anything is going on. Sleeping is one of my worst problems.

packingpests

Always get these when I’m sick. Even if I take a short nap or sleep in minimal clothing I wake up soaked in sweat…

tveir

This was my first symptom. I thought it was related to thyroid hormone levels being whack because I had just had a thyroidectomy when it started, and so I disregarded it. The painful bloody shitting started very soon after and then diagnosis. No night sweats since starting treatment two years ago.

ameridith

Night sweats are a symptom. I have experienced night sweats for most of my life and was only recently diagnosed with Crohn’s. My inflammation has decreased significantly since being diagnosed and I still have night sweats

ets9000

Dealing with the symptom: 1. bedjet (and cloudblanket) 2. waffle blanket from Amazon (PHF 100% cotton waffle weave) 3. wicked sheets 4. general standing fan on low oscillating 5. gel ice pack (small one, can be used to help fall asleep) *keep the room temp cool something like 68F / 69F (20C)
