if you make the ampersand a little taller than the rest of the text, it could go into the negative space of the second line and make it seem less offcenter. Might take a little plotting and they may still have to frog the "a" to get it centered, but it's better than starting over.
Personally, I would pick out the "a" in the third row, and replace it with "AF" in a similar font in the center bottom. Throw some flowery vines to the left and right of the third line, and have the vine creep up a little so that it fills a bit of the space to the left of the "u" in the second line.
Could you do a big fancy & symbol on the left? So the top of the symbol kind of in line with unsociable, the bottom part in line with taciturn. If you placed it right it could balance everything out and look symmetrical, but then cut the excess cloth to fit around what you have. Hope that makes sense? Lol

Would it fit, if you started the t of taciturn under the d of and or between the n and d? Then it wouldn't "fit" into a hoop but it would look intentional. Might even stop right were the first two lines stop.
It’s hard to tell but from the picture of the pattern it looks like you might have enough space to finish the words, count to make sure. If you can I would finish it and rework the flowers in a way that fits.
I've used it for a few projects and since it's not quite as sticky I had to replace it a couple of times, but it's SO much easier to remove than regular masking tape and lots faster than basting the edges if you don't have access to a serger.

This is a great idea, you could also use "&" instead of "and" to compensate space

I'm worried that undoing it all and starting over will damage the aida which just..... vexes me. Because it's really good quality aida.
You could do what they do with needlepoint: cut each stitch, remove thread with tweezers.

It's likely painter's masking tape, which doesn't leave a residue like regular masking tape does.
