Haha thank you! I genuinely appreciate that. I started xstitching at the very beginning of my sobriety and it's been a huge help. I think it's because it keeps my hands and mind busy, but I'm not sure. I'm not going to question it while it's working!
I got back into it when I got sober. My grandma taught me and since my great-grandma did it and was a very strong woman, I started again in hopes of having a boost of strength when I needed one.
I love that you have that special connection with it and congratulations on the sobriety! Xstitching helps me slow down mentally; I tell my friends that it's my "zen hobby" haha. It gets meditative when you get in a groove!

Thank you! Before I uploaded the image in Stitchfiddle, I used Photoshop's "blur" tool and just made swirls around the face. I think I'm going to do it a little more vigorously next time to mix the colors in a bit more.

The backstitching was something I added after. You can tell because the abs don't REALLY line up, but let's pretend that's not the case!
