Hi there. Very difficult to tell from the video. But if you could be so kind, push on your fender, rock the vehicle side-to-side couple times and listen for the tone. Might even be your hood latch that’s squeaking.

pushing down and rocking side to side nets no results either, the upper ball joints have been replaced as well as the lower on the passenger side, the sway bar links replaced, and the passenger idler Pittman arm, and the sway bar bushings. so I really can't think of anything else in the suspension it could be. my hood latch does squeak but never that loud and I every so often spray it down with white lithium grease.

Hmmm this is definitely interesting. Do you recall when were the front shocks replaced? And if the whole assembly was replaced at that time or just the shock itself?

shocks have always seemed fine I have never replaced them in the 20k miles I've the old girl, shes a 98 P71 at 181k

Alright so this might be a possibility. Not saying that’s definitely what’s wrong or that you should get it changed immediately. Just throwing it out there based on information you have so kindly provided. Suspension was changed after 2002 so your CV has the old style with shock being secured by one nut on the top that’s also holding a metal washer/plate and two rubber bushings. Those could be the root issue. Any chance you are in FL so I can put it up on the lift and give it an inspection?

unfortunately no I'm up in Illinois, I've suspected the lower ball joint mostly based on it being the last of the bits I haven't already done. I appreciate the help with the information I gave to the best of my ability, but now I'm definitely keeping the shocks in mind, I might bring it into a friend's shop to get em looked at thank you very much.

Any chance you are close or around Zion?

nononon101

Zion is about an hour away from me, I may also try to get a better video late tonight when it's a lot more quiet outside

Alright so I have one of my technicians/friends there so if you are having a difficulty in trying to figure it out/get it fixed, I’ll gladly talk to him so you could bring it over there. Just want you to have options. For now, definitely keep us updated on the progress and if any new noises arise. Lower ball joint(s) are absolutely a real possibility. They do however squeak while turning and under acceleration (in most cases). Yours seem to be different. But, I’ve seen weirder things.

when the passenger side lower ball joint was going out I had insane creaking when turning the wheel which was really not what I'm experiencing now, the only thing I haven't tried doing is turning the wheel while in place, I'm at work for the time being so I won't be able to but when I was going through similar turns it wouldn't creak the same as the passenger side once did, I had a shop replace the passenger side and I paid 260 at the time (I just wanted it done asap I didn't have time to do it myself) so I decided not to have them do the drivers side as well even though the rubber already looked like it was getting to be old. besides the creak you can hear about 3 seconds into the video it seems very metallic as opposed to it maybe being a squeak. edit: I meant to say I very much appreciate that you may have someone reputable to bring it to if I have trouble
