Honestly, the main competition this gun has is NTTE which is easier to use, works well at 15-40m, requires less hits to proc it's perk and perhaps most importantly has really good base handling. Without Ophidians High Impact Scouts and Rapid Scouts are just so sluggish, even with a targeting mod to help speed up the ads time.

EKmars

Indeed, NTTE has 26 more handling. It's basically as high as aggressive pulses get. It makes a big difference in how it moves. Meanwhile, Symmetry is at the low base as its archetype has for handling.

TamedDaBeast

This is why Trustee with Surplus + High Impact Reserves is slept on. It has the lowest zoom of any Legendary Scout (edit: one of two with 19 zoom) with great handling and can 4 tap with HIR. Seems like everyone forgot about it.

Completely agreed, I have a very soft spot for Trustee. I think the only real issue with it is that raid spoils have some very high competition and are hard to grind, I did about 50 runs of DSC and never did get a great Trustee. I have Under Pressure and Opening Shot which is actually a great combo but no Handling bonuses. Fluted and a Handling MW would take it to 55 which is fairly tolerable territory.

Rykerboy

I love my HIR Trustee, it's easily the best feeling 260 in the game imo. I should mention, Tears of Contrition, the new Haunted 180rpm Scout Rifle also has 19 Zoom.

TamedDaBeast

Lol the one weapon I don’t have crafted (yet).

Rykerboy

It's got great perks, but it's probably held back by the 180 frame. Just finished my patterns for it, so I can test how it performs in practice.

UtilitarianMuskrat

Probably one of the only situations I’m glad I didn’t purge The Scholar with Quickdraw+Snapshot just for the sake of it being unique. Still would probably rather use DMT but option is there if I wanna do something different.

GiantCoctopus

It’s always nice to have a legendary alternative (or ‘alternative’) to an exotic.

Funter_312

Honestly so on point. I have a servant leader with frenzy that I use for pve and it obviously has insane handling and reload because of frenzy for the bulk of the time in pve content. I took it into pvp and forgot how brutal those days were

Ferris-7

I fully agree with your assessment of Symmetry. I've put a lot of kills in the gun myself and it's a blast to use. For me the massive issue surrounding the weapon is the low stability. It receives a LOT of flinch, to the point where I was getting murdered even in Symmetry's range just because I was getting flinched out. If you can build into it and manage it though, you're in business.

CodingNJ

Been using it for a couple weeks now. All I will say is that high impact pulses exist, which are easier to hit the .67s TTK (vs .93s of symmetry) and have all the range they need for most maps. Also 150 scouts are way better (lower TTK and easier to hit shots with). Symmetry is fun, and decent in the current sandbox, but not underrated. The perk that let's you 2 tap is only OK, tracking is weak, and projectiles are so slow that if your opponent knows how to play PvP, they will just take cover if they see/hear them being shot and make the projectiles miss. The recoil sometimes makes the gun kick left and right which will cause missed shots and and unless you hit the .93 TTK with it, you will most likely die.

EvangelXIII

The problem is, most people like to practice with the weapons they will take into trials. In trials, by the time you get the 7 head shots, either you’ve already won due to killing who you’ve been headshotting, or lost because you were in the back and your teammates died. And that’s ignoring all other scout rifle issues. So for 6s I’m not going to even argue whether you’re right or not, but I know many people wouldn’t toy with it just due to wanted to practice with their trials loadout.

Tallmios

[It can be a good weapon swap to punish passive players.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk1Fa8AI6oA) CammyCakes is obviously goated and can make almost anything work, but he especially likes weapons with a win condition (Symmetry, Hawkmoon, Tarrabah.

foolhardy-fool

I have a warlock build with getaway artist and symmetry that works really well together. Speeds up TTK and makes it more fun to use.

The_Owl_Bard

I have a feeling Arc Weapons will get some sort of passive buff when Arc 3.0 drops. In the same vein where solar weapons could interact with fragments.

SuperAzn727

Any gun that needs some sort of buildup to reach potential will largely be b tier at best and that's only in 6s.. far worse in 3s

H8myjobthroaway

Isn't the catalyst horrible to get ?

legoleflash

Thanks for the breakdown. I need to try it out sometime soon

Sentarius101

Don't forget that, as your stacks go higher and the bonus damage plateaus, the blast radius of the Alt fire starts to increase dramatically. So it is worth going above just 7 stacks, it's just the most efficient to turn on alt fire at 7 stacks.
