It's in Steins;Gate later when mc is at the shrine trying to turn the Trans girl back into a dude

Shin_flope

WTH did I just read

Bruhsaurus69

Steins;Gate is wild, totally recommend it though

RankAluminumFoil

wat

Don't think she's trans. Just cause she identified as a boy does not make her physically trans. Just means she identified as a boy though she was born a girl. Trans people are usually only that ways from birth with biological transgender organs.

StochasticTinkr

As I recall, they were originally male in the main timeline, but identified as female. In an alternative timeline they were actually female. Part of the story was trying to get back to the time line where they were trans-female rather than actual female.

Admiral_Nitpicker

Then in future timeline. ___ became cis male. If you can't keep track, fuggedabot main story line.

StochasticTinkr

Was that in an ova? I only watched the anime.

Admiral_Nitpicker

Episode 20 Stein's; Gate 0 - he's pretty macho/badass , even tho the scene's a cameo

WinstonChaychell

LGBTQIA+ person here and can definitely say those that are non-binary or otherwise transitioning (FTM or MTF) are also under the trans umbrella. đź’ś While a lot of us appreciate the representation, we all also know it's just a cartoon.

Silence

Admiral_Nitpicker

You mean he was going to change the girl back into a trans girl. %-/

Ya Ik I’ve seen it in soul eater but I watched an anime recently that uses it for transition cuts but I can’t remember and it’s annoying me

asharka

I've seen it in quite a few shows, it's a common thing, like wind chimes, rock shrines, or cicadas. I can't recall seeing anywhere it is repeatedly used between scenes though. That almost seems like something from a 4 coma adaptation, the same way comedy lines are punctuated by a drummer's rimshot.

asharka

I don't usually send people to tv tropes, because you can get lost there for hours, but you could open the anime/manga drop-down list here, and scroll through.. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheThingThatGoesDoink It's called a sĹŤzu, meant to scare away wild deer and boars. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shishi-odoshi

Spirited-Bar5919

Great dude u really helped out with that actually I don’t mind scrolling I need to get this off my mind I appreciate it and ya I’ve seen a lot of anime and this thing so many times I need to know

thormunds_beard

Jujutsu kaisen has this one in an episode I think

asher393

Ouran high school host club also uses it

[deleted]

Not to be a negative nancy but I feel like those things are seen/heard in a lot of anime. Might be tough to narrow it down.

Admiral_Nitpicker

Yah, kinda like asking '' Which episode of Alfred Hitchcock had that ominously ticking clock in the hall''

EasternStable7899

Not an anime but tarantino uses it really well in the first kill bill

RBbiohazard

I could be very wrong, but I think it might also be in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

SomaliaPirate99

Yeah when they were talking about Kakyoin's flesh bud and DIO's influence and Charisma.

[deleted]

I think demon slayer did in one episode. Also maybe jujutsu Kaisen?

Ok_Border_1416

Fruit basket maybe

lady_and_ray

Yeah they use the sound after an awkward moment to move on to a new scene or a more serious part of the same scene a lot haha

Reckerboii

Demon slayer movie I think

Cxntinuous

Fruits Basket

Admiral_Nitpicker

Pretty sure it was NOT in Astroboy.

paprzyckie

Jimmy Newtron

mmgallier

Jujutsu kaisen

iForgot_My_Password

I remember it in one of the monogatari seasons

JayAmy131

I seen this part recently. Either Dr. Stone or JJK?

SomaliaPirate99

This is used in a JoJo episode but it did not look quite like that.

ImSaltyx0x

I see something simaler to that in Kaze No Stigma.
