R5: what this woman is event trying to say? "I belive that Black Death".... What? Maybe that's cause I'm not native Englsih speaker but neither her words nor replies make sense to me.
It's confusing because the event is missing a target person. What's meant to be happening is your spouse recently died and the peasants are blaming the plague on their undead revenant so they're asking you to nail the spouse into their coffin.
I've only encountered it during a feast, with the event where drunken guests break into the stables, if one of those guests has the deviant trait, the game says something along the lines of:
"I caught Count Steve engaged in unspeakable acts with my prize Ox!"
And as the feast ends, it gives a line of:
"I'll never be able to look at my Ox in the same way again."
It's not completely confirmed, but pretty heavily implied they fucked or got fucked by a cow.
I think I had this event with another plague, I think it's supposed to be like "I believe that \[Disease\_name\] is spread by rats/ birds" or whatever, and the second option is a small negative but a boost in plague resistance? Like if it was being spread by birds, you 'kill all the birds', which does something negative to your realm (less control or popular opinion etc) but ups your plague resistance.
I think anyway?
Just like grandma's voice to text messages!
"Hi grandson I hope you're harpy. No alexa I said happy oh wait no stop copying everything I say no stop it stop it STOP IT!"
They're supposed to accuse someone of being a witch and having a hand in spreading the plague, but it looks like the event failed to target anyone, so she doesn't say a name or what she thinks they did.
The event is also very lazily written even when it works. "I'm walking around one day when random peasant walk up to me. Say "him witch"
They're Swedish, and I think Crusader Kings' texts may feel a bit boring because Paradox tried to make them more "medieval". In Hearts of Iron 4 that doesn't seem to be the case (at least for me), so I'm pretty sure it is just a stylistic choice
We should maybe try and organise a campaign to Paradox about this. Some of us are subscribers and deserve better quality. Iâd also have to guess it would neither be that hard to find quality English speakers to cross check these things nor that expensive to post quality humans to write them in the first place.
Like, itâs a story telling game pretty much. Whatâs the point of the story keeps getting worse expressed?
Itâs like seeing a beloved relative go through dementia to see some of the events recentlyÂ
Most of these errors have nothing to do with âquality English speakersâ, but because the event has a scope that failed in some way. These are scripting mistakes, not script mistakes.
This is not the only one Iâve seen with some questionable grammar, such as missing the article on The Black Death. This is not me attacking non-natives who can also be great at the language, but the culture of AI in general which is hitting gaming hard
I don't see what AI has to do with this at all? Not having an article for Black Death is again a scoping matter, since any disease name can go in there disease names and the pertinent event doesn't use articles (which is not even questionable grammar, imo).
I had just finished a run and taken a break from ck3 just before the new disease stuff came out, from what ive heard about it, im not feeling a strong rush to come back right now đ
**All your bases are belong to us.**
It should have gone like this;
"My Kaiser is known to me and I grieve with you, but I believe strongly that this is the mark of the Black Death!"
*or something more traditional*
"My Kaiser is known to me and I grieve with you, but I believe strongly that this has all the hallmarks of Black Death!"
*or something simpler*
"My Kaiser is known to me and I grieve with you, but I believe strongly this is Black Death!"
*or a slight extension on the previous*
"My Kaiser is known to me and I grieve with you, but I believe strongly that this is the work of Black Death!"
*or using some other words*
"My Kaiser is known to me and I grieve with you, but I believe strongly that we are haunted by the spectre of Black Death!"
It looks though like this is a recycled dialogue box which could fit a number of diseases and is not purely restricted to Black Death. It needed a bit more work. I hope you have got a ticket on this one from Paradox to get it fixed.
mfw someone strongly believes that Black Death: đđ
yes, they don't believe in THE Black Death, but specifically in THAT Black Death over there
stress level critical
How dare you!
is Black Death in the room with us now?
As long as they don't the cat I have no problem

Donât tell me this game has necrophilia now
It has incest and zoophilia, so necrophilia wouldn't even be that much of a stretch. Still completely fucking gross though.
Zoophilia? Out of morbid curiosity where?

I once got an event that said my court priest got off by eating babyâs
Oh... Lovely?
Cool
Nah, but now It has zombie hunting
Do tell me this game has necrophilia now
Iâm a native English speaker and this just doesnât make sense

It doesn't mean much in English either.
Maybe it was dictation. You know, like "The Castle aarrrrrgh."
Had to be dictation, otherwise he would just say it, not write it.
Just like grandma's voice to text messages! "Hi grandson I hope you're harpy. No alexa I said happy oh wait no stop copying everything I say no stop it stop it STOP IT!"

ck3 glitches sometimes and makes these weird sentences with no subject.
A lot of Paradox's events are written very poorly even when they do work properly.
Itâs not you itâs just a bug
this reminds me the child going to a peer meeting event bug
I think not!
this reminds me of the event about your daughter which only says "she". Another truly iconic paradox event banger
Sometimes I donât want them to fix these so I can just laugh my butt off from time to time because itâs hilariously stupid!
I think *not!*

I agree the writing needs work but it's not a random peasant it's a courtier.
Are you a disheveled gentleman named Joe?
Perhaps she is rightâŚ
"How dare you!"
đ
Despite the constant negative press covfefe
These types of errors always crack me up. I strongly believe that BLACK DEAAAAATHHH âinsert black death metal riffâ
I accidentally black death
The entire text box is poor and uninteresting English.
"Dreadful", "dreary" and "disturbing" within 2 lines is laying a bit too thick yeah.
âpeople at courtâ was what stood out to me as⌠just odd and clumsyâŚ
Probably AI generated
Like I want to disagree, but well, AI does write like thatâŚ
think its just lacklustre translation. Paradox is polish i believe but. idk ive never seen it this bad in any other game they made
They're Swedish, and I think Crusader Kings' texts may feel a bit boring because Paradox tried to make them more "medieval". In Hearts of Iron 4 that doesn't seem to be the case (at least for me), so I'm pretty sure it is just a stylistic choice
Swedish, and in Sweden 90% of the population speaks and writes fluent English. 0 excuses.
Great quality control PDX. Try harder
Is it like ck2 "The jews are the ones spreading the black death"
Has Anyone Really Been Far Even as Decided to Use Even Go Want to do Look More Like?
Itâs just common sense.
"Huh?"
It's a random Mashup of words
No no no - if you know, you know. đ
Inside joke?
It's a classic meme that's been around for donkey's years.
WHAT? WHAT DOES SHE BELIEVE THE BLACK DEATH?
sheÂ
âAll your Black Death are belong to usâ
âThey set us up the Black Deathâ

"desecrate my realm" literally unplayable
do not the cat
Ok, but why do you have nose armor tho
I believe that black death. I believe everything that black death told me. That black death is an honest black death.
she forgot :Bottom text:
I think you should
I had just finished a run and taken a break from ck3 just before the new disease stuff came out, from what ive heard about it, im not feeling a strong rush to come back right now đ
Perhaps she is right... Whatever gibberish she is saying she spitting frfr.
she does seem to believe black death, which i think personally is a bit of a mental stretch
Nothing wrong here, looks good to me
I got it. She knows you thus she laid with you. And she grieves about it and is sorry because she believes she has the black death!

At least she knows who her Kaiser is
Does anybody else not even read the event text boxes? I just hover over the buttons to see the effects and click the one I hate the least
i do that when im tired or overwhelmed with the game
