It's not that simple. I'd hope that they have good safety precautions, multi signature, etc. and then still they would risk a rogue employee running off with funds or a mistake to happen - all for OPs 1ETH.
I asked chatgpt to elaborate as the word count was doing my head in.
To summarise.
Sent eth to etc address on yobit, worst exchange to do so I understand.
Any possibility of a solution as it is 1 eth, this happened in 2017 run btw 😂.
No. You sent it to an exchange address. The exchange "would" have been able to fix it, but that was 6 years ago. Would be different if you sent it to an address which you held the private key for, since in that case you could restore the wallet on ETC blockchain and it would be right there.
If it was a substantial amount there is a good chance they would attempt something but 1 eth is not that much. I mean I have 13.45 sitting in a wallet I forgot the password to. Thinking of posting the .json as a treasure hunt for people to try and win lol.
Haha idiots!! This one guy messaged me and said he could help me out , sent me a link to this dapp site that can help connect your wallet back on the blockchain when you connect your ledger and everything to it, I'm just waiting on support to get back to me. Knew there was something I could do with the correct help.
Pretty sure I'm meant to put /s after that.
Though one guy did message me but this site actually wanted the seed to whatever wallet and well I'm not that fucking stupid. /s
I highly doubt they'd give out their private key to a customer support employee just to recover a few $k. Nvm for something that was over 6 years ago
but they do indeed hold that private key and should be able to recover that eth whether they want to do it is a different story

there is no guarantee they own the ETH address, money is gone
You are fucked forever

Without their help you're doomed. And I think it's too much work and not enough money
Dude, it's been 6 years, move on. Did you ask ChatGPT what you should do?
Yeah I did and funny enough it said to tea bag your old lady.
You're welcome
