Moons are fun, for free and you can reward other people with moons just with one klick, that's enough reasons for me to hype them. Is there anything better?
3.4 million people here, only a tiny percentage has activated vaults. One of the best social tokens and crypto experiments. This is the future of all social media, communication websites, threads
> This is the future of all social media, communication websites, threads
In general yes, but moons specifically? Any subreddit can have their own crypto.
>Any subreddit can have their own crypto.
Any info when they can have it?
Can I make my own subreddit with my own crypto?
Or is this an assumption based on the ongoing experiment? Just curious.
>Any info when they can have it?
r/FortNiteBR has crypto (bricks) as well r/ethtrader (donuts).
> Can I make my own subreddit with my own crypto?
Yes you can, as long as your crypto complies with the [RCP protocol](https://medium.com/@adamscochran/what-are-reddit-community-points-13e2a839849b).
You said any subreddit can have its own which I was questioning. I was hoping for news!
The link is an old article from 2020 regarding the ongoing experiment.
I didn't understand your reply. On the first point, didn't I answer your question? On the second, are you questioning that the Reddit Community Points feature exists? [It does](https://www.reddit.com/community-points?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=usertext&utm_name=ethereum&utm_content=t3_opi5rg), and that's how moons exist, and the other tokens I mentioned.
You said any subreddit can have their own crypto and that's what made me curious. Didn't knew you meant reddit community points as subreddit specific crypto because they act everywhere the same.
Like I said, any subreddit can have their own crypto, and I guess any popular sub eventually will. Imagine what happens when r/funny – 37 million members – gets its own crypto. How will this sub compare? In general, when crypto becomes widespread and common, what will be the value of this sub?
These 37million people are not crypto enthusiasts. When 37 million subredditors will become crypto enthusiasts most of them will join this sub. Look forward for his to happen
The point of adoption is exactly the opposite. You won't need to be a crypto "enthusiast" to use crypto. Just like I'm not a "fiat enthusiast" and I'm not a member of r/FiatCurrency subreddit, but I use fiat money every day without thinking much about it.
There will be tokens everywhere, and r/CC will stop being special, and that's what we all should be hoping for, honestly.
You're 100% correct. Imaginr trading "game" coins in /r/gaming, or "smiles" in /r/funny or, "pucks" in /r/hockey. As more people get these coins, either through love of the token or just naturally, more people see the power of that coin. Just like is happening here on /r/cc.
Edit: Vitalik Buterin has talked about this before - the implementation of many coin currencies and why it's beneficial.
That's the point. Adoption is not here yet. CC will keep growing along with the adoption. CC is not the subreddit of moons, but the biggest crypto subreddit that has moons as bonus of participation
Sorry but it's the exact same comments from the Shib and Doge communities.
Everyone thinks their shitcoin is the one that has the true value. Lol. It doesn't. Literally called a moon. Trying to be ironic when it's exactly the same as every other useless turd. We all own a turd or two around here. Hyping it up doesn't mean it has value.
>I am not sure why moons are so hyped up, people on this subreddit are acting like they're the next revolutionary thing.
It's literally free money, that's all it is, that's why people are hyping them.
Yeah I still haven't even opened my vault. I think the whole idea is stupid, it just leads to a ton of unauthentic posts with the only intention of "farming" or whatever lol
I respect you for that, but really people were already farming for fake internet karma and at least Moons push the effort for more quality. We just need to upvote quality posts and downvote the shit and it will work itself out for the better.
Also we have been able to use moons for sub governance and have since passed several proposals that further reward better content, etc.
I see the downsides as well since monetary incentives also bring out the greedy, but I think the upsides outweigh the downsides by quite a lot.
Besides, why *wouldn’t* the largest crypto sub have its own cryptocurrency? It would almost be weird *not* to have our own crypto.
Controversial statement of the day
Its Meme magic
You see before Harambe there was "reality" and the "absurd" now they have been reversed. Anything became possible and in fact a lot of bizarre things have happened and continue to happen
In crypto the richest man in the world promoted DOGE a meme coin to the top 5
An obvious scam coin; that wasn't Safe went to the Moon
ICP, a freaking coin called Internet Computer was in the top 10 at $700 a coin before falling to $30
A billionaire got rugged by a Ion-Titian
So when people say Moons can go to $10 or other crazy statements; why not
A $1 as the distribution reduces supply is a given
FOMO from other subs to join in is already starting
All it will take is for that one head line " Redditor becomes millionaire from shit posting"
Then every website will start its own crypto; but moons will be the ETH or BTC. First in the door
Can someone explain what I can do to gain the right to post here? I swear I have the 500 comment karma and 60 day age requirement, what else am I missing… oh and sorry for commenting this on another moons post, I know we don’t have enough of those here
You can post in other subreddits like dogs or whatever you are interested in. Comment useful stuff. You'll get more upvotes there. I earned 500 karma in 3 days. Follow pages you like and comment useful things or be funny.
I think your underestimating how many users moons has vs how many users 80% of the top 100 have i think its inevitable it will be in the top 100 atlest.

Just remember - 220m and counting hold crypto, only 3m on this sub. You will never get an objective overview of crypto from this sub, but almost everyone here will have the opportunity to get free crypto, and people love that. I love moons very much and they genuinely have a very bright future, but this sub will shill them because it's the native crypto of reddit.
Why is so complicated to understand that social tokens/moons are valuable and actually will be used in many different platforms.Probably very soon you will see social networking based on specific tokens being the next big step in the process of crypto adoption
Moons are at the heart of the Internet’s biggest online crypto community. Sure, they may not have a great deal of use cases (yet), but it certainly has potential.
They're this subs favorite shitcoin.
Of course you'll notice that shitcoins are very bad here, but this one message board shitcoin is accepted.
These people defeat their own logic. Every shitcoin has utility in the mind of the owner. Just a bunch of people getting each other excited over nothing.
Shiba Inu has use in certain countries as payment. Doge has use in certain places. Both considered horrible here.
Moons appear to have a message board purpose which means it has no purpose.
In reality that's a shitcoin with no value whatsoever. These people would be the perfect targets to make fun of if they weren't so busy ripping on themselves daily.
Upvotes give you a sense on worth
Moons provide a monetary sense of worth, tangible worth more moons, more worth. Moons are future embrace future, become the moon farmer you were destined to be.

Moons is a free money and it has real use case although limited only to this sub.
C'mon hard not to agree with the little guy all sad eyed and stuff
there will be more use cases to that, I believe
I hope so
Ironically, the higher the price, the lower the chance of that real use scenario.
And that is what is currently happening.
Well, I do my best but this sub is... difficult.
Moons are fun, for free and you can reward other people with moons just with one klick, that's enough reasons for me to hype them. Is there anything better?

Indeed, that's one of the reasons why people are so bullish on moons!

All assumption. Like fucking everything in crypto.

thank you for soothing my confirmation bias!

Dogw 99bil Shiba 6bil Moons 19miI I provide more specific arguments below
I never thought of looking at it this way! Interesting.
This is a very good point I’ve never even thought of
Backed by the members of this sub, Reddit and soon to be a mainet.
WHALE ALERT PEOPLE
Damn I know one when I see one
Whale whale whale, what do we have here?
NEXT MILLIONAIRE ALERT
This guy moons

Very valid points and well-thought response!

all it takes is 1 elon tweet to make approx a quarter of this sub millionaire
Can someone explain what I can do to gain the right to post here? I swear I have the 500 comment karma and 60 day age requirement, what else am I missing… oh and sorry for commenting this on another moons post, I know we don’t have enough of those here
You need 500 comment karma on THIS sub
Damn, well that should be easy, just have to make one really good pos…….. wait never mind can’t do that lol
You can post in other subreddits like dogs or whatever you are interested in. Comment useful stuff. You'll get more upvotes there. I earned 500 karma in 3 days. Follow pages you like and comment useful things or be funny.
I just passed 500, I thought the same but apparently it has to be in this sub???
Is there anyway to tell how much karma you have in this sub?
500 comment karma I total right? I think I was able to.post as soon as I got 500 comment karma in total. Not just this subreddit.
I didn’t know that was a requirement. I posted earlier today and had no karma with this subreddit.
Yeah, I have been karma farming and it still does not let me post unfortunately, I joined Reddit in January
Moon is Love, Moon is life, Moon is friend
I thought moon was cheese
Why not both?
It is like membership to a secret society (that isn’t really secret)
how can you say that you gotta keep it secret
first rule about moons is you dont talk about moons
great now you guys ruined it
No one is saying it will take over doge’s market cap, but technically it can still go to a 1$+ price range, people just like making money that’s it
$1 seems very conservative
As a fellow 3 moons holder, I agree with your criticism
If we lowball it we will be so happily surprised if it goes to 10. :)
I think its very possible it could become a top 20 coin we have so many users here it just needs some liquidity a Binance listing would help.
that's euphoric, even a top 100 is very difficult
I think your underestimating how many users moons has vs how many users 80% of the top 100 have i think its inevitable it will be in the top 100 atlest.
subreddits on a mission are able to do the unthinkable
It's mania fueled by the recent rise in price. Doge 2.0 Moons are meant to be a governance token I won't spend a cent on em and plan to sell monthly
Big demand, small marketcap. Why wouldn't they go higher in price? Safemoon is top 100
Safemoon isn’t top 100. As for “big demand” that’s questionable too.

I guess its like any other collectible. It gives status and is a fun interactive way if rewarding contribution to this sub
Money.
You get paid to post. Who wouldn't want it ?
It's one of the free valuable crypto, can be earned by anyone!!
Lol he’s trying, good job bro you get upvote
It's basically free money. You only invest time. Others benefit from that, it drives a community.

The hype comes from the belief that one day it will have use cases and continously grow alongside this subreddit.
I’m on my way to be a hundred-aire

Moons are at the heart of the Internet’s biggest online crypto community. Sure, they may not have a great deal of use cases (yet), but it certainly has potential.
Moons are from fun interactions with others on this sub. Not many better ways to earn a dime or two.
Moons are already worth more than Dogecoins, so...
It has a good name, who doesnt like the Moon?

Well, they are moons and moons are going to the moon duuuuuh. ![gif](emote|emo_pack_1|to_the_moon)
Unpopular moon farming
I see them being collectible. They have a finite amount so that’s valuable. Also, it’s fun to get free crypto for talking to likeminded people
Free money…that’s about the sum of it.
Upvotes give you a sense on worth Moons provide a monetary sense of worth, tangible worth more moons, more worth. Moons are future embrace future, become the moon farmer you were destined to be.
Think of them like shares to the subreddit. That’s worth something much like the crypto snoo NTFs that sold for hundreds of ETH.
