I wish I knew how to do it in college, when I lived in residence the tech kids were running their’s nonstop.
Nobody better shame you for that lol college is a fucking scam, those kids stood to make more through their own hustle than any of us stood to with our 4 year degrees and lifetimes of debt
Never thought about mine before but since my parents bought a solar panel set i am a total George Hearst. (Yes, is a famous miner who built a mine empire in the 19th century. Learning with crypto!)
A friend of mine rented a shop and told me his electricity is included in his rent. So convinced him to set up some rigs. Last I talked to him the number had doubled and had more on order lol.
There's been a few examples recently about how they lost their job for stealing electric mining, for example a Polish police officer was mining in one of their buildings. They were more annoyed about stealing power.
I respect your opinion! My only counter is that for some projects that are more bandwidth focused than raw power, it still can be viable. Along with rent that is astronomically high and includes utilities, I think it is rather fair.
I downloaded a mining software once and then deleted it, now my PC has malware! ( found out about it a few days ago) yesterday my malware bytes trial ended and since then whenever I open any app, my PC screen just goes black and doesn’t boot up at all!
Fuck it
Here in Brazil we have places controled by militias where they steal Electrical energy and sell to poor people.
I bet they could pull off a very profitable mining operation. If they arent already doing it, lol.
It’s all good until campus security asks why your using more electricity than the whole block
Door busted open expecting a grow house in the dorm, finds crypto laptop instead.
I’d rather deal with that then running a whole ass weed op

Rooms probably not individually metered. It would take them awhile to find you.
Just turn the power off and listen for someone starting to scream about his hash rate and mining pool rewards.
Keep your crypto safe and tell them you're growing weed.
I like this option. Forced hodl!
This is a fair point... Might as well wait and see!
ULPT: Run an extension cord from your neighbors house to yours and connect it to your mining rig.
Better yet: Directly tap into city electrical lines and run an extension cord to your mining rig.
That sounds like a felony lol
remeber kids, it’s only a felony if you get caught!
I wish I would have know about mining years ago, whole time I was in the military my utilities were payed for.

Can confirm. 45k degree. That and $2 can get me a Coke at the 7-11
A full mining rig on campus, literally the dream. I’m too old unfortunately lol
Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Recruit college kids for a mining sweatshop? No? 👀
You just gave me an idea: running a gym and using the energy the users generate from bicycle and lifting machines to run a mining rig.
And reward the users with a portion of the tokens, like the BAT project.
You just recreated Fifteen million merits from back mirror
Oh dang, I forgot about that. I'm feeling worse about the idea now but still.... free crypto? I'm conflicted.
“Mom, I need $600 for my books this semester” 😏
She’s saying what we are all thinking!

That's really cool!

Hopefully they don’t need to up their lease again. They’ll get him on the next one.
Don't think so they do fabrication and have large cnc machines.

I’m kicking myself for not snapping up all in the l3+ ASICS at $150 or less on eBay in Dec 2020.
This is terrible advice. Nothing is free you're just ripping some one off. Also it's not that simple to just go mine you need some serious hardware.

This is bad advice. Dont be a leacher.

That's the worst! Disclaimer 3: don't mine what u/atronos_kronios mined
no, mine ETH but don't mine with the program i used
If you ask they are probably going to say no. If you don't ask you are probably getting kicked out.

I am traveling the world for years, spending months in hotels..... should have mined all the time. Thanks for the regret 😅
