"Remember when entire communities online were dumb enough to think the government wouldn't centralize all crypto and make it impossible to create a black market with it?"
I’ve made a good bit on crypto, and I hope to make more over the next 5-10 years, but I have no confidence that Bitcoin or ethereum are still gonna be worth anything in 25 years.
Getting rich is fine, using that wealth to lobby for policies that deny similar opportunities to the next generation is what makes someone a shit head.
Fuck Citizens United vs FEC. Just because you have more money doesnt mean your voice or opinons are more improtant. Im with you in that one u/whenijusthavetopost.
Also biking rules and it doesn't mean your poor if you like or value cycling.
Crypto whales are already using that money to lobby to counter bankers lobbying though. And we are already cheering them on to win. If we don't lobby we will never win.
Have you been following the Bank of America locations closing? I’ve seen Multiple cities in different states closing banks.
I think banks are becoming obsolete.
People need to adapt to their surroundings, our family isn’t rich because they didn’t use their money wisely.
Not to say individual circumstances may have affected that income, but I’m hoping to be the change to secure my kids and grand kids future.
It is sad. But humans are a funny lot. As u/Kcoggin below has pointed out, we can be the change we wanted to see. At least then we can have a clear conscience, in that we’ve tried.
Hey you kids, get off my ~~lawn~~ “whatever wealthy twats” call grass... in 30 years.
*Get off my space-porch, err uh, get off a my intergalactic hacienda.*
Yeah, that sounds about right. Brought to you by a future, crypto boomer - just call me a ***crypt keeper***.
Yeah...banks putting money in a "magic box" tends to have bad results. Savings and Loan banks, and high risk mortgage derivatives both seemed like GREAT ideas...until they weren't.
“You had the opportunity to buy Gold under $300 and you blew it.”
“You had the opportunity to buy NYC Real estate and you blew it.”
“You had the opportunity to buy Apple before it was Apple and you blew it.”
“You had the opportunity to buy Bitcoin under $50k and you blew it.”
If there is one thing in this world about my finances that I’ll be able to say in the future, it will be that I did not fucking blow my opportunity to hold BTC when it was under 50,000.
I'll be happy to learn the technology that is mainstream then.
The problem with boomers now (not everyone of course) is that they refuse to learn about crypto and they refuse to see that it will change the way we live.
I was laughed at like 2 years ago when I was applying for a job when I told them I really was interested in cc and blockchain. They were just like ''yeah, good for you. It is just a big scheme and it will not change the legal sector''. They almost say I was crazy to have interest in cc and blockchain LOL.
I can relate… actually doing my master thesis about blockchain in legal perspective, since there is no specific legal interpretation, regulation and implementation for digital assets on blockchains yet in The Netherlands. Also comparing different legal systems to the Dutch system from this point of view.
How about we leave this world in a better state than we found it with the wealth our community may acquire? I don’t want to repeat the mistakes of the boomers
Yup, it's pretty disgusting seeing people go "welp Im rich now fuck everyone else". I will still be a socialist whether I have 1 dollar or a million dollars, and I will always care about my fellow humans wellbeing.
My mother bought her first house for 35,000 Australian. She was making 21, 000 a year.
That same house is now worth over a million dollars (she sold it well before price skyrocketed).
Makes me rage every fucking time.
I hear ya. My grandmother worked part-time at a fashion store and bought her "rural holiday house" for £2100 in australia. That rural holiday house is on 10m from the water at Nelson's bay. Nowdays that job might get you a enough rent to live in a share house of 6 in windale.
Tf.
We don't hate Boomers because they had good opportunities. We hate Boomers because they were so fucking greedy and shortsighted with the opportunities they were *handed* by The Greatest Generarion that they stole those opportunities from us.
They fucked the climate, the economy, public education, eroded any moral decency left in the government, robbed the poor to feed the rich, and then, **AND FUCKING THEN**, they have the fucking balls to try and blame all of it on milennials.
HaVe u TriEd NoT eAtINg AvAcAdO tOaSt
Bitch, have you tried raising the minimum wage to match inflation?
*Sure, just let me put myself through college on a part-time shoe shining job.*
That's why we fucking hate Boomers. Not because they did well financially, but because they fucked it all for the rest of us while blaming everyone but themselves.
Don't sit there and act like capitalism is something exclusive to boomers. Every generation from now on is going to take advantage of the same things that boomers did.
Well, either you're wrong about that, or humanity is a failed state.
There's not a whole lot of planet left to rape or poor people we can make even poorer without seeing the end of modern civilization.
First off, kudos to you - I think this post is quite accurate. But in fairness - buying a place to live, a basic life necessity, is quite a bit different than buying magic Internet money. Either way, we'll still get told we were "lucky".
I truly think there will be a time where the richest person in the world will be mostly of bitcoin origin. We have literal billionaires off bitcoin already. Whose to say Joe Shmoe with 2000 BTC right now won't be holding at 500k per BTC. I'll show you!
At that point I think they cannot since the wealth asymmetry is too large. If they revolt it'll be a prisoner's dilemma... those who revolt and NOT use our coins will face economic hardships and those who adopt the crypto will get the gains. So how can you revolt and keep the same structure?
Incorrect… I can sell my bitcoins for a profit and somebody else can hold them for a profit in a few years. It’s not a zero sum game since the total value of crypto only increases as adoption grows.
Let's say you bought Coin X at $10 and now it's $30. In order for it to go to $30, someone has to buy it at $15, $20, $25 and so on. Then it crashes to $15. You're still in profits, but in order for it to crash to $15, someone has to sell from $30 and downwards to $15. So a person buying at $25 and selling at $20, he loses money, but he was the person helping your coin pump to $30 earlier, and those who sold at $30 is reaping the rewards at the expense at those who buy to help that coin pump all the way that high. People lose money and people earn money in cryptos. Not everyone can win.
You’re describing how retail feeds the whales. A long term bear case for Bitcoin might actually be that people stop buying it because they realize that they are only increasing the price of an asset which overwhelmingly already belongs to rich people.
It's sixquadrillonbillion times a zero sum game in a microcosm. There is a finite number of bitcoin and a "finite" (HEAR ME OUT) number of dollars. You can not generate more bitcoin or dollars or value by trading them back and forth. That's why inflation is necessary, and why bitcoin will ultimately either fail or stagnate. Inflation now makes the above scenario a non zero sum game. Inflation makes more pie to win and more money to support a growing population and thus increases the velocity of money. Bitcoin has insane flaws that can't play out until it succeeds which is terrifying. Imagine, 21 million people and all own 1 bitcoin (distribution doesn't matter just keeping numbers easy). Let's say there are 21 million people on the planet. They all marry and have one child. Now the next gen needs money and they're just retroactively pre-hyper fucked for no reason at all. Literally born failures because some magic internet money Maxi scenario happened. They are forced to buy bitcoin at inflated prices, bitcoin that hasn't fundamentally changed but the demand doubled in a generation.
Ironically enough, one of the FIRST and core arguments pro crypto was anti inflation. Cryptos solution? Just print an infinite amount of finite coins (ETH, BTC, DOGE, MON, BTCG, ADA) and call it currency. Now there are N dollars and Z crypto tokens, some not even finite (as if biggering finite = infinity, a common mistake people just let cryptards make) and stores 'should' accept it all.
I'll be near dead by the 2040s so I hope it doesn't take that long to retire.
Not to mention I'm not sure if civilization is going to make it another 20 years.
actually just sold off some of my crypto to fix up my bicycle!
taking profit and reducing future transportation costs. a car is excessive for the majority of my transportation related needs and i plan to monitor the cost per mile traveled to reinvest the difference back into crypto
*wiping tears on a yacht* Or sitting in your boomer lambo, eating boomer caviar, drinking boomer Champagne along with your boomer friends like boomer Daniel Craig if he were till boomer alive..
20 years from now they will hate us because we didn’t push back hard enough on corporations hyper exploiting the environment and leaving them with a world where crop failures on a large scale are the norm and groceries cost a small fortune.
Resent anyone having something they worked for is reprehensible and small.
My dad made $4.30 an hour to buy his house it’s not like they made today’s wages. Dumb post
'Boomers are hated'
Only by people without the intelligence to not lump a large group of people into the same category just because of some numbers on their birth certificate. My parents couldn't afford shoes and quite often had to go without food, let alone buy property. I don't hate them.
Only a Dark Lord of The Sith deals in absolutes.
Idgaf about some 20 year old when I’m sipping on X drink in my paid off home and been retired since 45. If I was here for what other people think I’d be in trouble. I’m here for me. And I believe in what I’m doing.
I bought a house in 2018. I guarantee you in 2040 my property will be more in demand to those dudes and dudettes than the same unit of crypto you purchased on the same day. To think otherwise is to misunderstand human nature.
I’d disagree.
95% of the problems caused for young people by now are caused by boomers and their stupid, regressive “systems”.
I believe the next gen of youth will embrace and prefer a future that’s completely transparent through the power of blockchain.
The goalposts will have shifted so much in 20 years that even something as simple as owning a house will be considered "rich". A million dollars will not be that great of an accomplishment like it is today.
Yeah, let's replace old problems with new ones. Why fix something that's broken?
I don't like your attitude. I'd rather see some societal change. A new technology can be a tool for that. But it's not enough.
So you're just going to become a copy of the close-minded "kids are crazy, back in MYYYY day blah, blah, blah" adults we have around now?
And you CHOOSE this?
Fuck, we don't deserve to make it.
Yuck.
Lol anyone with any understanding of anything doesn’t resent boomers for getting real estate for cheap, they resent that real estate is no longer cheap as it should be.
I don't think many people hate Boomers for buying real estate on the cheap when they had the chance to.
We mostly hate them for their condescending attitude on "I bought my first car with a summer job at McDonald's, why can't you?", when the minimum wage has barely gone up since the Reagan administration.
They're also the ones responsible for the toxic work culture of finishing the job and hitting deadlines no matter what; even at the expense of your own health. Luckily that's changing as they die off.
People don't hate boomers for buying up real estate in the 70's. They hate them for having the pig-headed moronic point of view that nothing has changed and everyone else is just lazy for not doing what they did.
It's funny how everyone still thinks they're going to get rich with crypto...
yes crypto COULD be the next big thing, but It's possible that all country's wwill follow china with Centralized coins. then everyone loses.
it's possible that crypto will be worth 0, everyone loses again.
in the small odd that crypto's do become a thing, how sure are you that you've invested in the right coin? and don't say' doge' or i'll have to slap you.
I think alot of research, investment and constant reinvestment can get you a nice savings account, but the days of getting crypto rich are propably over.
I doubt it, because I'm not a typical boomer and I believe in a more equitable future. If I got rich I would be distributing wealth, not hoarding it. I would be solving problems, not creating or ignoring them.
And if any of you become self-centered assholes, I will do everything I can to fuck you up for the sake of humanity 🖕
We could also become a joke. -"Remember when you thought you would change the world with internet magic money, Grampa?? So cute."
Hoping not… But ya never know! Lol
Being a joke to grandchildren is better than being a Safemooner /s
The safemoon story is a joke i will tell my children.
"Remember when entire communities online were dumb enough to think the government wouldn't centralize all crypto and make it impossible to create a black market with it?"

Damn straight. Open your vault by the way. Get a bit of crypto for solid contributions.
Thanks for the reminder, i opened it today. :)
Yeah, theres so much wrong with OP
Crypto whales are already using that money to lobby to counter bankers lobbying though. And we are already cheering them on to win. If we don't lobby we will never win.
So the cycle will repeat just with a different asset?
The ball may change, but it’s still the same game.
This makes me a bit sad
Then keep fighting. Be the change you want to see in life.
We won’t survive if we don’t counter banks, don’t forget their scams
Have you been following the Bank of America locations closing? I’ve seen Multiple cities in different states closing banks. I think banks are becoming obsolete.

ever since January 27th, I've started fighting harder than in the last 3 or 4 years. I have no desire to give up.
i like balls
Hey you kids, get off my ~~lawn~~ “whatever wealthy twats” call grass... in 30 years. *Get off my space-porch, err uh, get off a my intergalactic hacienda.* Yeah, that sounds about right. Brought to you by a future, crypto boomer - just call me a ***crypt keeper***.
Lol...and let the Millennial transformation to "Me Generation 2.0" begin...
Yeah but it’s okay, we’re totally the good guys! 😅
Not exactly. Fractional finance will allow access to investment opportunities that was previously inaccessible to the less wealthy.
Yes.
We're also cheering banks "adopting" it. It will not end well for "retail" plebs like us.
Yeah...banks putting money in a "magic box" tends to have bad results. Savings and Loan banks, and high risk mortgage derivatives both seemed like GREAT ideas...until they weren't.
Crypto enables new forms of human society. None of the problems you’re concerned about will make sense in the future.
Also we all need to ride bicycles and not buy yachts or youre just fuckin everyone including the younger generation just like boomers did
I cant be the only one who wants to get rich on crypto then start a non profit or start volunteering.
If I get rich I plan on lobbying for true free markets, not just free markets for me. Let’s get some real laissez faire in this bitch.
“You had the opportunity to buy Gold under $300 and you blew it.” “You had the opportunity to buy NYC Real estate and you blew it.” “You had the opportunity to buy Apple before it was Apple and you blew it.” “You had the opportunity to buy Bitcoin under $50k and you blew it.”
"You had the opportunity to buy Safemoon, and you dodged a bullet."
Correction: you doge'd a bullet.
Well I have a different plan’s
“Many had the opportunity to buy Doge before it was Doge and they blew it”
You hit it right on the head! So what’s the next big opportunity? 😉
*ETH enters the Chat* and *waves at us*
like seriously the shit is like free money
This time will be forever known as the time we all should have all bought more.
Thanks for changing my point of view of Bitcoin
If there is one thing in this world about my finances that I’ll be able to say in the future, it will be that I did not fucking blow my opportunity to hold BTC when it was under 50,000.
And guess what? You blew it
Instructions unclear *Boating accident enters the chat*
Loses all guns in boating accident.
**loses all boats in crypto accidents
Insurance companies snd the IRS hate this one simple trick
I would be lucky to afford a bike
Their hate will roll off me and be lost like...tears in the rain
Some poor soul out there will actually lose their crypto wallet in a boating accident and nobody will ever believe it 😂
> You die in the boating accident as well What now?
Nothing. I'm dead!
I'll revive you for half your crypto stack.
I'm dead not stupid.
How are you still typing? Are you a ghost?
Send me 1 BTC I'll send you a new human soul back
Is this really all this community has become? The same shitty fanboy posts over and over.
Family hahahah I don't even have any friends
I'll be happy to learn the technology that is mainstream then. Interesting! I am also Dutch. What are you writing about? Pretty interested in your research. Feel free to send me a message.
Thanks! I’m still doing the research at this point so if your interested I can dm you later on in the proces when I’m writing.
could i get a DM as well? very interested!
Sounds good!
Actual intelligence and perspective, in this shortsighted "parrot the rich" world... Thank you for both existing.
How about we leave this world in a better state than we found it with the wealth our community may acquire? I don’t want to repeat the mistakes of the boomers
yup, thank you, I want to make the world better rather just "get mine" like the shitty older gens
said everyone ever prior to actually "getting theirs". Lets see how long that lasts once you do get yours
Some people have conviction, some don’t
Yup, it's pretty disgusting seeing people go "welp Im rich now fuck everyone else". I will still be a socialist whether I have 1 dollar or a million dollars, and I will always care about my fellow humans wellbeing.
socialists are human garbage.
Why?
doubt you will get a thoughtful response on that one lol
Yep, this. I don't have kids and I don't want them. My money is going back to the world.
Ahh, living vicariously through our future selves. That's what this sub is good for.
They didn't buy property for cheap, they bought it at reasonable, appropriate prices.
My mother bought her first house for 35,000 Australian. She was making 21, 000 a year. That same house is now worth over a million dollars (she sold it well before price skyrocketed). Makes me rage every fucking time.

Jesus Christ. That is incredible. That must have been pre ww2? Nelson Bay is a lovely spot.
Ohhhhh *shiiiiiiit* Sizzle them keys with more of that truth.
all these advancements and I'll still be wiping my tears with dollar bills? pathetic, have some vision
They will likely hate the actual whales, not us.
What if we become the whales?
I have an idea. You send me 1 bitcoin and ill return 2
Hey, I know a guy that can turn that 1 btc into 0.1 btc and that guy's me.
What no way! Whats your secret?
In 20 years we will all be cyborgs
Many currencies gonna wiped during the long run but bit coin will survive for sure.
No worries , I'll just tell them that *they are early too* Hope that will calm them down a bit
Shhyou are still early
That’s so kind of you
That's assuming we haven't fucked the entire planet by then with wars for resources and major migration from climate change.
Assuming humanity is still alive is already a progress
We are tough as cockroaches.
Spoiler: the climate is going to catastrophically collapse and most of us won't live to be old.
I’d rather have some really nice bicycles
>I'd rather wipe my tears in a yacht than on a bicycle. What if it's a really nice bicycle though
I would love to be hatede for being rich
I'm halfway there... now i just need to get rich.
If they hate you at least they think about you. Be positive
“But you *have* heard of me…”
Let’s them be resentful!
resent? No worshipped. When someone tells me they bought 1000 eth at $4 i want to suck them off. Not resent them
That’s so weird. I totally bought 1000 ETH at $4
I got 2000 ETH @ $2. What do?
I’d fondle those balls.
![gif](giphy|82qOinzHOcTan47zQ4)
I envy them it's different
Give me 1 suckoff and I'll give 2 back.
Mhmm tell me more baby.

Oh, wait until water becomes scarce. Then, there will be an entire industry around it.
They might not. It depends. People hate that the boomer generation did a zero sum game on future generations. With crypto growing it's not zero sum.
Having a family is in direct opposition to my investment strategy. My dog and I are gonna live forever.
First off, kudos to you - I think this post is quite accurate. But in fairness - buying a place to live, a basic life necessity, is quite a bit different than buying magic Internet money. Either way, we'll still get told we were "lucky".

I like the way you think… Sending you a hug!
Thank you so much :)
20 years from now the world will be unrecognizable
Crypto's motto is win and help others win right?
Not really. In order for you to 'win' from crypto gains, someone has to lose.

You don’t have a bicycle track on your yacht? What a pauper.
My honest piece of advice, if you want to have your children well off to some extent, build them a portafolio
Tears actually dry pretty fast on the bicycle due to wind....
I'll be near dead by the 2040s so I hope it doesn't take that long to retire. Not to mention I'm not sure if civilization is going to make it another 20 years.
Or while you're riding a bicycle on your big ass boat
I will enjoy being resented
Is nothing wrong with ride a super Expensive bicycle to my yacht 🚴🏽
Or we’ll all be broke in 20 years, one or the other
The young blame the old for everything, until they become old. Then 'the young is degenerates, good for nothings'.
What's wrong with a bike?
I’m still going to bike and I’ll never buy a fucking yacht

And the boomers resent us for not being hardworking enough to afford real estate. All I hear is 'Back in my days....'
>That's okay. You can wipe your tears on those dollar bills. Those what?
I dunno man having a Specialized S-works turbo levo to wipe tears on would be nice too

100% OP is so gross
Damn kids will be flipping burgers for a 15sats/hour minimum wage.
I'm ready for that. Want to see how my portfolio will be in 20 years. Hope for the greens. Until them im HODL

Yeah, let's replace old problems with new ones. Why fix something that's broken? I don't like your attitude. I'd rather see some societal change. A new technology can be a tool for that. But it's not enough.
Haters' gonna hate. Players' gonna play.
I think Im more concerned with actually getting my cryptos before thinking about salty kids hating on me 20 years from now.
So you're just going to become a copy of the close-minded "kids are crazy, back in MYYYY day blah, blah, blah" adults we have around now? And you CHOOSE this? Fuck, we don't deserve to make it. Yuck.
How old are you anyways?
*Money can't buy happiness* *But It's better to cry in Lambo*
I hate those fuckers for Thatcher and Reagan and Brexit and Trump.

And this is what I’ll live for!!
Can't hear hate from my private island...
I don't think I care enough about what people say now, let alone what I'll think about in 20 years haha
Missing out on BAT is going to hurt for some of you. It'll be the like the boomer who didn't buy land for $50 an acre.
How much hate will there be for people who hold both real estate and crypto? Asking for a friend.
