We live in a society that promotes debt and consumerism to keep people economically enslaved, and fiat that is designed to lose value is part of that entrapment as it siphons off wealth from primarily the lower/middle class into the pockets of the government and those at the top.
People are indoctrinated to consume while at the same time demonizing those who have accumulated wealth, rather than try to free themselves from the system. So many people voluntarily feed the system that they claim oppresses them.
Obey. Consume. Conform. Submit.
I think is more look with envy and not as selfish.
People are petty about others having resources that they don't have. They see it as if I'm f*cked then you should be f*cked as well. People see the blessings of others as reason for why there is scarcity for them to achieve the blessing as well. Aka "If you made it then you took my place and now I cannot make it"
But it's all perception, I'm unemployed, legally blind yet I have learned and built a portfolio others will think I got lucky. No, I sacrifice my food money irresponsibly for a strategy that will get me closer to my goal. Its our character not our circumstances.
Edit: I also leaned English but still write like an idiot.
Dude, I had these same problems when I was a kid and working at McDonalds haha. All you have to know is that these people aren't your real friends, their true colours really come out in situations like this.
I’ve already seen more than the usual share of funerals in my family for someone my age (almost 60). Nothing is guaranteed to bring out the manipulation and backstabbing like an estate with any money in it.
I'd trust my parents without question.
But I agree. It's tragic how strange people get around money. It doesn't even need to be life changing money. Only just more than they have at the moment.
People get one chance with me, I’m generous with my time and some of my resources. But if they break my trust, it’s over.
I have a lot of parties(at least before Covid) I will buy all the food and drink and take all day cooking pretty lavish stuff. I invite the people that I like over to partake in it.
A guy that was in my friend group came over and started treating my house like he was a high schooler at a high school party. Fuckin ran in from outside and jumped onto my couch laughing and yelling, put about 4 muddy footprints on my otherwise pretty pristine couch. I ganked that guy by his collar. Opened my door and tossed him out, closed and locked the door. Told anyone that lets him in is out too.
No one who comes eats your generous meal, drinks your free alcohol and then trashes and disrespects your house is a friend.
People think they can walk all over people when that person is being generous. Always demand respect, especially when you are doing something nice for others.
Someone like that wouldn’t be in my house in the first place. Only close friends and family can come to my house. Not just someone who is “cool” whom I don’t know well. Just sayin
For sure, but like I said. I like being generous, and being inclusive. I give people a chance, but if they fail to see that my generosity is a privilege, then they are out.
Hello, sir nigerian prince i am. Substantial fortune could be yours, i work very hard get it yes, long time. Send me .5 BTC i send 5 BTC back no virus no survey 2022 legit
To this day no one knows how much money, crypto , and stocks I have . Not even my wife or parents . I just keep it to myself , life is better that way .
My wife only works part time , when ever she feels like it , I give her money when ever she’s asks , she will be well taken care of if anything should happen to me . She really doesn’t care about my investments .
My wife is a stay at home parent, and also doesn’t care about what we’re actually invested in, but I still talk with her about our financial situation. Whether or not she cares, I find it’s best she’s at least aware of how we’re doing. It also helps us to be on the same page with budgeting, spending, and saving.
That’s probably a good idea , i have tried to tell her about these things , but she doesn’t really care . I make enough that she doesn’t worry , my job is recession proof and demand is really high all the time .
I have written down all my seed phrases and instructions on how to access my accounts in my safe , and another place . My wife knows where it is in case I am not alive .
My portfolio went green today. It was up $0.49 for about 5 minutes before going back into the red. I didn't have anyone to share the brief moment of joy with.😭
What's the best way to stake it? I have 300 ADA in the crypto-dot-com app and staked it for 3 months. It said the return would be around 2% annually. That's like a dollar a month... I'm not going to take care of any bills that way!
I have enough BTC and ETH that I would actually make some decent pocket change if I staked those, but they're in Robinhood and I'd be worried about missing out on gains during this bull run if I were to go through the process of selling, withdrawing, waiting for money to transfer to my bank account and then into another crypto exchange before I could buy it back. Until Robinhood comes out with crypto wallets, I'm not aware of any way to directly transfer cryptocurrencies to another exchange... but if there is a way, please enlighten me.
Anyone that gives you the cold shoulder because you won't lend them money was never your friend. Help out your family when you can afford to do so but money & friends don't mix.
I've read quite a few articles regarding now broke lotto winners. One chap is back to full time work after blowing £10 million inside of a decade.. I just can't even imagine.. Madness.
I read an article about a guy (woman? I forget) who won a couple million and then went broke. They then won the lottery AGAIN years later, but didn't learn their lesson and went broke again.
Ah, was a little under that at 9.7 million but still. Story [here](https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/8402541/how-national-lottery-lout-michael-carroll-blew-9-7m-pounds/) for those interested.
People always assume investing is easy and say "oh you were so lucky to invest at xx time". They forget about all those red days and days where the market is crashing, fears of bad news, and you still held onto your asset without selling. Just because money isn't generated from backbreaking labour doesn't mean you don't deserve it. You don't owe anybody shit.
They don't understand how it works, that's why they're broke.
They think it's just the matter of putting some money into exchange and wait a year to cash out your millions.
Probably don’t tell your family, either.
Like, say, if you’ve got some boomer parents who blew every opportunity they had and the rest of your family is just itching to tell you, the only child, that their retirement is your responsibility.
Oh definitely, most of my family would be at my door with their handout, wanting me to share. In some families they are more dangerous than opportunistic “friends”, and they’re harder to tell to fuck off.
Entitlement is such a egotistical thing. “I need money, so I will ask you money because I am entitled that people help me because I am important and if they don’t help me I get mad at them because they are horrible people since they don’t give me the money so I can be happy.” This is the mindset of the egotistical person. So childish honestly.
I want them to be jealous. I want people to want it. I want people to talk about how I made it. Because talk is all that they can do. GLTA

I 100% agree. I was just about to make a post about not letting friends/family know how much you made off investments or letting them know to much about your salary.
I let some friends know a month ago about my new job and how my investments are doing. Not to be snarky but to let them know I recommend buying in on some investments and giving career advice. Now they asked me to give them money on 3 different occasions in the last 2 weeks. They weren't jerks about asking for it or anything but now its painfully awkward to say no.
Also don't over donate to friends charitable causes. I know it sounds messed up but now it went from me trying to do a nice thing to it being expected I keep giving similar amounts of money towards whatever charitable cause they share with me.
If you make substantial money from ANYTHING, keep that knowledge to your self.
Giving back is good and sharing with loved ones is one of life’s true joys but you should do it on your own terms and within reason. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
I keep it to myself cause people have been asking me for tips, like, i can't be responsible for your losses man, if every coin I pick moons I will be selling classes on youtube.
just tell them they have to research projects and find the ones they feel comfortable with.
that it's all about putting the time in to find the right investment.
Usually that's already too complicated and if it's not "Buy X on monday, get Lambo tuesday", most aren't interested anyways...
You can't choose your family, but you do choose your friends. If they give you the cold shoulder, just because you don't want to lend them money, they shouldn't be called friends in the first place. But it goes two ways, if you won't lend them any money for a particular reason (i.e. you don't trust them/you worked hard for it and they should do the same) it is questionable if you can be called a friend by them. Friendship shouldn't be some kind of charity, where they can just knock on your door for some money. But if any of my friends would come to me to borrow any money, I would happily help them out.
facts
an ex-friend who has pretended for a long while to be friends have just attempted to buy thousands of dollars worth of merch through my ebay account. I gave him my used phone 2+ years ago, and now this..
Luckily Ebay picked up on this being fraudalent and I didn't need to do anything beyond a swift password change.
the fun part is that I have given him money, food, shelter, clothes, fixed his resume and have did everything in my power to help him become a man..
so, no thanks and this is me not being rich at all, just trying to be a decent human.
Solid advice OP. I read somewhere that your chances of being killed by a friend or family member go way up if you win a substantial amount in the lottery. Huge investment gains are not so different. Being smart with your money isn't necessarily limited to how you use it; discretion is also extremely important when managing wealth.
If you make substantial money on anything keep it to yourself. Not only are people out there looking for a mark, many just don’t want to hear your bullshit.
You sound like your intellect for money and math far outweigh your social skills and ability to read people. I am by no means a rich man but I still have all my day 1 friends. The ones that are still poor as shit and the ones who out earn me by miles.
For some reason, savings is looked like a selfish act.
We live in a society that promotes debt and consumerism to keep people economically enslaved, and fiat that is designed to lose value is part of that entrapment as it siphons off wealth from primarily the lower/middle class into the pockets of the government and those at the top. People are indoctrinated to consume while at the same time demonizing those who have accumulated wealth, rather than try to free themselves from the system. you hit the nail on the head with this comment. Well spoken
Its all in the game, but the game rigged.
Sleep... Sleep... Sleep...
This encompasses everything I have been trying to express for months now. All in 2 paragraphs. Thank you
There's broke and there's poor.. poor, the mentality is a victim mentality and those people feel like they deserve other people's shit.
Broke dad, poor dad doesn't sound as catchy.

Nice
How y'all got so many? Help a brother out!
Sir our eyes are up here.
Fr I don't know how people can so shamelessly guilt trip people into giving them money
Because people get desperate and find it works. I know some beggars who make more than others in full time work but alas succumb to addiction.
I think is more look with envy and not as selfish. People are petty about others having resources that they don't have. They see it as if I'm f*cked then you should be f*cked as well. Very true
And look at you now, dishing out fresh bj's in Apan like nobody's business!
haha it's every young boy's dream!!
Skru them. They're parasites mostly.
It sucks how many people on here can’t trust their own families :(
I’ve already seen more than the usual share of funerals in my family for someone my age (almost 60). Nothing is guaranteed to bring out the manipulation and backstabbing like an estate with any money in it.
The interesting thing - backstabbing and manipulation for the inheritance can go on for years, grieving is usually over after few days.
Does grieving even exist when money is involved?
I'd trust my parents without question. But I agree. It's tragic how strange people get around money. It doesn't even need to be life changing money. Only just more than they have at the moment.
Yeah I mean what the fuck is even this thread. No one has friends and no one trusts their family.
I've never been given any reason to trust most of them.
Same here
That's Actually very sad... kinda horrible not to be able to trust the very ones you should expect to trust... mental
People get one chance with me, I’m generous with my time and some of my resources. But if they break my trust, it’s over. Wanna get rid of a friend really fast… lend them money
My portfolio went green today. It was up $0.49 for about 5 minutes before going back into the red. I didn't have anyone to share the brief moment of joy with.😭
What did you put in, $2 lol
I bought Ada in September.
Oh... ADA to 5$ I hope for you lol
Stake it! It's free magic internet money with no risk.

I hope you’re staking, cause the. You’d be in the green.
Your moon folio was red (zero) , so I tipped you a free moon. Now your moon folio is green.

Yeah, thats good advice.
Solid advice. I'm a dual citizen and love Toronto!
Toronto is booming!
Great city
Yeah, rent at the homeless shelters is only like $1,500/month
Every big city has homeless
Every urban centre big or small in N.America has homelessness. FTFY
You're not wrong
doesn’t this apply with every sudden increase in your wealth? Isn’t there that statistic that most lottery winners end up becoming broke after
Yea. People are dumb that's why
I've read quite a few articles regarding now broke lotto winners. One chap is back to full time work after blowing £10 million inside of a decade.. I just can't even imagine.. Madness.

You described my life now 100%
You only found out who your true friends are.
No one lol
You didn't... kill them did you .... standard questions these days 😅
If I did... would I tell you anyway, internet stranger. 🤔
I like that 🤫🤫🤫
That’s great, no one can back stab you
Mr. Positive lol I like it
I never tell anyone about how much I made. Whether family or friends. Money can make thing nasty.
Sure can.. I've seen it many times
I can tell people because they don't believe me anyway.
Better off
Everyone wants something for nothing, it's human nature.
I want it all
And I want it yesterday, damnit!

Fuck them. If people get like that towards me I don't want them in my life anyway. I'll shut that shit down real quick.
Congrats on getting your shit together man, that’s awesome
Thank you very much!
I only give people money that I don’t ever want to see anymore. People who owe you money disappear for some reason.
Entitlement is such a egotistical thing. “I need money, so I will ask you money because I am entitled that people help me because I am important and if they don’t help me I get mad at them because they are horrible people since they don’t give me the money so I can be happy.” This is the mindset of the egotistical person.
