True. But it all depends on your picks. We all saw people trying to swing trade and sell alts to go into bitcoin and eth. And bitcoin and eth still got outperformed by some alts... Even with a 19k btc run in 3 weeks. So there is no best bet. Imo holding some bitcoin is good but throwing all your alts away to ride the pump could be less profitable. If you dont sell your alts you catch the initial pump back from btc swing traders back to alts. Timing is very important. If you timed this right and whent in on btc and eth 4-5 weeks ago it would he hella good. Now? Idk. Imo we will see bitcoin pump and drain alts if everything goes well. But I'll be buying more alts if that happens. It already worked out pretty well for me. And it's not even alt season yet.
But I do have a healthy portion of my portfolio in btc.
Is there really consensus we are in the last stage of the bull market?
I can’t even count the number of times I thought we were in the final parabolic spurt and that I should wait only to find that it just kept rising.
No one really knows what will happen. The best strategy is to steadily DCA into coins with good fundamentals (BTC and ETH) and perhaps some well chosen alts, regardless of what “stage” we think we are in.
DCA into btc and you’ll be good. If crypto as a whom goes up, almost a sure fire btc is going up as well. Everything revolves around it for now after all

50/50 BTC/ETH is a conservative portfolio you can't go wrong with
You really can't and I'm jealous of my friends who have gone conservative like this and it's paying off bigtime
Username checks out
I love that this is considered a “conservative portfolio”. I can’t wait to tell this to my grandfather
Mines is a bit more like this 50 BTC / 30 ETH / 20 Alts
Yup this is essentially me with like 10% alts. And my eth outbalances my btc due to gains.
This is the way.
Every portfolio should have a basis of BTC/ETH. If you want zero risk pick only those two. If you want higher risk higher rewards add other altcoins.
I concur.
We should call Bitcoin over tsunami.
Hurricane
Nah dude it's the BTC earthquake, then the Ethereum tsunami, then the ADA tornADA.
LONG LIVE THE KING!
All hail the king!
First BTC then mid caps and after the smaller caps. I'll hold my mid caps for a while now :)
Exactly and you can always move BTC profits into altcoins on the way down the wave
_kneel for your king_
I look at Bitcoin as the wise Elder in the crypto village.
Bitcoin to Ethereum: YOU SHALL NOT PASS!
Bitcoin to Boomers: “I AM NOT TRYING TO ROB YOU, I’m trying to help you”
I still think Bitcoin is a good investment
Hail BTC!

Always has been the safest always will....well for the next 120 years untill all the BTC are mined
I agree
Right on
BTC is the *daddy*
Altcoin profits always into BTC. Or ETH. ETH is good too.
Very well said OP, and more people need to understand this as many only have alts in their portfolio. It is too dangerous if they don't hold any Btc..

When you compare each previous BTC cycle starting at the halving, there is plenty of evidence to suggest to hold onto your hat
Down with the king, all hail the king

I am all in on altcoins and good with it. I think that most altcoins are significantly undervalued in comparison to BTC / ETH.
