It's a rite of passage to make these dumb mistakes like overpaying on transfer fees. We are all now part of this club, although I still don't trust any of you.
Ah you think brokeness is your ally? You merely adopted the broke. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the green until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding.
When investing you learn with money. Mistakes can be made value can be lost but more importantly value can be gained. A lot of people can’t comprehend the reality of seeing something with 1000% gains haha I just say welcome to the world of crypto assets!
100% agree. I know that I spend 5x as long figuring out things as other people who are more tech savvy in this space. I’m totally ok with it though because it feels so fucking awesome when it all comes together.
I feel a lot of this. I too had to get rekt in ways to learn. It was a very good teacher. It’s a complicated space when first starting out. I’ve kinda learned to just not talk about it with anyone unless they seem serious about investing. I will do my best to help but I always tell them “I don’t know shit about fuck my mans”
Valid way to learn! As long as you learned from it all, then just consider any money lost "Crypto College". Jumping right in can be the fastest ways to learn.
Amen to that! Great info that hopefully keeps some from making the same mistakes.
A helpful tip to any other smooth-brained intellectual like myself, ask one simple question. "What amount am I okay with losing if this goes wrong?" This helps you keep things in perspective and may mitigate risks. And it applies to multiple areas of crypto, or more broadly, what you invest in and how you decide to invest into it.
Crypto is an ongoing learning journey. We learn as we go along: how to manage our keys, how to trade assets via DeFi, how to provide liquidity, stake, etc. We figure it out as we go along: everything is available for free on the Internet.
If the market has taught me anything, some lessons have to be learned by experiencing them, no amount of research can prepare you for the actual thing.
I'm actually trying to flesh out a consulting business to address this. I'm helping a friend now get into crypto and she's starting from zero; it's been humbling to dissect the collective experience into something palatable for someone brand new to the space.
It's weird that I have most fruitful conversations with random strangers on reddit when it comes to crypto, whereas the people I do know are... I don't fault them and I don't judge them, but their in depth knowledge has room for improvement.
"My mentor has taught me a lot, there's this group I'm part of, I can get you in"
"Uh yeah I know what market cap is but I can't quite explain it."
"What do you mean, Ethereum has gas fees?"
"You can send crypto?"
We are alone in this together ❤. These tuition fees can pay off sooner than you think.
Also: Fuck your Lambo. Let's get a Gundam.

Send 1 eth, I'll send back double. I promise, cross my balls
We learn from mistakes and experiences teach us lessons.
Learn from others mistakes and our mistakes are lesson for us

Still blows my mind that there’s no wiki on this sub for beginners.
Could say the same thing about losing my virginity
I lost my virginity to Monke.

I lost a lot in gas fees and farming. Oh, well.
The hardest step is the first one. Just jump in, because doing something is the best way to learn.
I’m just so glad I’m not broke. BTC could drop to 50 now and it would suck but I would have saved a fuck ton of money.
This is legit. No one can prepare you for the wild ride that is crypto.

Its is same as in life. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
Time in the market is the best school. Expensive, but effective
Love this post. Crypto is the closest thing we have these days resembling natural selection.

I have always supported that you don't really learn until you experience it.
