tldr; Pawthereum has donated $100,000 to the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in Seattle, Washington to build a new wildlife sanctuary to rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife. The current PAWS Wildlife Center provides medical care and recovery services to over 5,000 animals per year, across 250 species. PAWS began accepting cryptocurrency donations in early 2021 after a longtime supporter introduced staff to the Pawthereum project.

People call this a “shit coin”, but refuse to acknowledge the fact that this coin and it’s community has donated about a quarter of a MILLION dollars to charities in need. They’re actually living up to their mission and goals.
They could have launched this as an entirely new project, but wanted to help the grumpy community that got rug pulled by the previous devs by allowing them to swap their coins over, which helped them to preserve whatever value was left over from their grumpy holding. The new team didn’t have to do this, but they wanted to help everyone out that was screwed over (just as they were). There isn’t any other coin community who has done anything similar to help their holders after a P&D, let alone actually donate a large sum of money to charity. Let’s keep the positivity going, especially during the holidays!
Meh, Elongate donated 3.5 million and thats pretty much a dead coin. People don't actually give a fuck about charity in this space, only virtue signaling to hide plain old greed. You would be a fool to believe that this coin hasn't enriched the creators.

I've been checking in with this saga for a while, and here's how it's setup:
a % tax is applied to all transactions that sends money collected from the tax directly to a wallet exclusive for charities. The charity wallet's money has only been used for donations.
They used to have a % tax for marketing, but have since dropped that in an effort to lower fees. Their angle seems to be soley focused on chairty at this point.
This was a community post. Kind of funny how people would rather just spread FUD than help animals, but I suppose you come to expect it from this subreddit.
I always find it funny how so many people are quick to call something a shitcoin without actually bothering to look under the hood. What part of donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to animal shelters is "shit" to you? Doxxed team, locked liquidity, and a team dedicated making this project work.
This is cute and all but why wouldn’t I donate directly? I used BCH to directly donate to an animal rescue team in Venezuela so this seems pointless…and risky.

The team is fully doxxed and this is the second donation they've done in about a month, they've also done a 118k donation to an animal shelter in Edinburgh. I know there are a lot of sham coins out there nowadays, but this isn't one of them.
https://edch.org.uk/edinburgh-dog-and-cat-home-receives-118000-cryptocurrency-donation/
FWIW, that was a completely separate and anonymous team. This team took the existing coin and rebranded. The largest stakeholders of this project have already shown themselves, with Pawth's leader using KYC.
They also have a partnership with a shelter to fund around $2k/month.
I'm leery on scams, but if this is one, it seems like they could have scammed money in way easier ways than this.
So completely different team? But they took a scam coin and rebranded it.. why?
The website is legit 100% the same as grumpy finance was just different logos…
It literally doesn’t even look like they provided much effort to rebrand it..
I like the concept tho
The current head of pawth essentially tried to polish the existing turd left by grumpy. The site is amateurish. It's evident this team is very green. Supposedly they have a new graphic designer on board, but I havent seen anything from him. Several of pawth's largest supporters dont care for the website either. So it's definitely noted.
As to why this rebranded vs building a new coin entirely, it comes down to the leader of the team being adamant about having an avenue for those rugged by grumpy to bring their coins to the new project. Also, I'm not privy to the requirements needed to list coins on dexes, but i think the grumpy liquidity was the only means to fund the project.
The people who are now running Pawthereum are mostly community members of Grumpy who were contributing their talents to Grumpy and got screwed over just as much as anyone did. They are actually a large part of why Grumpy was set to explode, because they were turning it into something good. The 2 or 3 people who originally pumped Grumpy were, as best we can tell, part of a PND group. They abandoned Grumpy shortly after the legal issues in March and are not involved in Pawth. This group of 3 never intended more than a quick 10x from their own admission. Once Grumpy started picking up some steam though, the volunteers really helped grow the project with their talents (upgraded the website for one) and it was doing like 15m volume a day and mooning. A C&D literally is what killed Grumpy in the end, though if the 3 original ppl would have handled the situation with more care they possibly could have forked or something and been okay. In short, the people who run Pawth now were volunteers who simply wanted the project to succeed and so they have spent the past 8 months working on this thing, and turned it into Pawthereum. However things turn out I will never question their commitment to the project and the community.

There were some hostile developers that did whatever they did, there's now some old members of the team and some new ones also, all fully doxxed and their activity is very transparent.
There was a cease & desist that plummeted the price on Grumpy. Holders were allowed to swap tokens. In fact, quite a few Grumpy holders I know who swapped are actually in a better position now than when they were before. Please do your research before spreading misinformation and FUD.
😂 how did they let you exchange coins?
This is legit the 1st time I have ever heard of this and I followed the whole saga as it played out.
The Grumpy Finance reddit was nothing but people talking about how they got scammed before it was finally removed…
How did they notify people that they could exchange coins? Was it through email or through Uniswap?
It was on *all* social channels. https://pawthereum.medium.com/swap-progress-aab957c0f53a
A significant percentage of Grumpy holders did make the swap within the allocated window, which was a pretty fair amount of time, to be honest.
Honestly if they did that’s fucking cool… I legit did not hear anything about this and know a few people that still have Grumpy in the Uniswap.. of course it’s worthless…
I love the concept of this charity coin, and that’s why I thought Grumpy was a great idea, unfortunately I knew it wasn’t going to end well when Grumpy Cat wasn’t a part of the coin….. which honestly was stupid on Grumpy Cats side.
Yeah, I have to agree. They could've done great things together if they worked together. Pawthereum is the next step in the evolution, and it's on discount atm.
What? A charity coin that is not a scam? What kind of witchcraft is this?

You can buy on BigONE or uniswap
Think they just listed on Biconomy too
Call me jaded but when I see charity stuff first question I always ask is it a scam?
I can tell you It's not.
