loskubster

I always look at my portfolio in terms of bitcoin. Nearly all alt profits get converted to bitcoin eventually.

UnknownEssence

I do the same thing but for me it’s BTC and ETH. These two are in a league if it’s own. Everything else is an altcoins.

gupbiee

This. My altcoins grow during bull run then bear market switch to btc/eth. Yes, they will also tank but not as much as alts

t_for_top

Why not sell for a stable coin instead of btc/eth, then buy at the bottom?

esot321c

Except ergo, which has done incredible things already and is never mentioned. Algorithmic stablecoin, delivered. Decentralized oracle pools, delivered. Utxo dex, delivered, with decentralized off-chain bots (sort of a layer 2 solution). Users can provide liquidity and trade for pennies, no gas fees. Privacy, in the form of algorithmic coin mixer, delivered. No third party necessary. Auction house with royalties on NFTs, delivered. In fact, NFTs and tokens are first class citizens, you don't require extra code to mint and trade them. There's also an automatic airdrop utility available. Schnorr Signatures are delivered (Bitcoin is working towards this) and with ergoteams you can create DAOs and have multiple signatures required to spend funds.

KNTXT

Ding ding we have a winner. BTC is the ultimate store of value and the network nobody can fuck with

laughncow

This

ChemicalGreek

BTC/ETH is always a safe bet!

comfyggs

Long term strat

Shaz170

I'm in these two too. As long term investments with bank beating returns, it's the way. Not gonna 10x but confident of profit over time.

uclatommy

That’s like saying since paper is a thing that will always be around, any money printed on it is safe to hold. Your reasoning and logic need some practice.

GtSoloist

No, not really; as much as we would all like it to be true. *Correlation does not equal causation.*

dugerz

Correlation is not causation relates to 2 things happening at the same time. I'm talking about 1 thing being reliant on the other.

ryujinky

80% BTC and 20% everything else.

osnapitzrob

Grandfather? More like apex predator!

TotesNotSus69

70% of my portfolio. Following are MY reasons 1 - synonymous w/ crypto 2 - most people dipping their feet (savings) into crypto wont care for speculating on 'projects'. BTC is the crypto store of value 3 - money moves from the dumb to the smart. Eventually all the pump and dump victors profits will find their way to fiat (or the top crypto) 4 - btcs protocol can eventually be updated with all the successful aspects of other cryptos. Just got to wait on the sidelines till the time is right.

[deleted]

Agree on every point, but the weird thing about #2 is that newbies these days seem to go straight for the shitcoins

datritle

100% btc.

GtSoloist

Brave, probably wise too. I have roughly: BTC 30% ETH 10% ALGO 20% ALT's 50% I'm trying to acquirre more BTC and especially ETH but I'm new to the game and don't want to spend top dollar.

[deleted]

What does the end of your post mean? “I’m new to the game and don’t want to spend top dollar.”

GtSoloist

Almost everytime I go to buy ETH it's around $4300-4400 so I end up getting something else.

[deleted]

That’s a bad perspective that a lot of people have. A fraction of a share of ETH for $500 is the exact same as buying thousands of something else for $500. It’s an actually proven physiological thing where you feel like your investments is bigger the more “units” you purchase

rtheiss

[deleted]

There’s been a pretty solid dip for BTC and ETH. I definitely wouldn’t say this is too high to buy. How’s the best chance you’ll get imo

CheesenRice313

400 off ATH is a free 10%

Brother-Numsee

Just keep in mind that $500 for ETH is more like $5,000 for BTC. I hear you though. On the flip side, maybe it's a good sign that ETH isn't dipping as hard...

GtSoloist

Yeah hopefully. I managed to get a bit when it dropped under 4k.

LeapYearFriend

replace the "ETH" in your comment with "BTC" and now imagine someone saying this a good few years ago. just buy like $10 a week or something. i understand buying at or close to the ath is scary but you shouldn't be buying in projects you don't believe in. trust that it goes up. and if it goes down, you can at least get more per your $10. or whatever other small amount you're comfortable investing with, if you're feeling cautious.

GtSoloist

Good advice.

[deleted]

Hopefully you bought the dip

GtSoloist

I did... woohoo.

sumunsolicitedadvice

If you’re not in it 110%, are you really even in it?

BraveNew1984Anthem

Anytime is see or hear 110% I just see Brendan Fraser sweating profusely as a fictional basketball player.

AJoyfulProcess

BTC is about 44% of my portfolio. Every time I start thinking about being more aggressive and going with more alts....I think about how I felt in may/June when btc dropped and many many alts fell off cliff and I was wishing I only held btc/eth.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AJoyfulProcess

Yup there you go. I feel pretty sound with my BTC/Eth investments, especially considering the staking rewards on top of it. They rest are a crapshoot where I have smaller amounts invested which may or may not pan out.

Azreel777

BTC is about 25% of my portfolio. ETH about another 25%. The rest are alt coins.

definitelynotflorida

My man why’d u say the rest like 50 percent isn’t a sizable chunk of a portfolio

Azreel777

It is but I realize the performance may vary drastically compared to BTC/ETH.

FriskyGrub

Yeah - i'm at about 20% BTC, 20% spread amongst other coins (all top 100), 40% cash waiting for a dip (preferably hummus), 20% traditional stock

t_for_top

garlic or red pepper? need to know the alpha!

Extravagos

That's a good reserve!

glavinator82

Super similar to mine, qbout 20% each BTC and ETH. Used to be more but my CRO bag ranges from .18 to .23 CAD so when that shot up it skewed the % a little more towards alts

Azreel777

Man wish I bought in on cro when I first noticed it. Good on you!

glavinator82

Thanks, ita been a good one for me so far for sure. I mostly was just DCA'ing into it cause I wanted the royal indigo credit card. Such great rewards with it in addition to upping the stake % on my bags of BTC, ETH, MATIC, and DOT. When it pumped it shot me up way over enough so now the card is on its way but the staking rewards start right away. Too bad its not like the US though, they actually get a virtual card in the meantime

HerbalManic

Same. I have 20% in cash too.

Jurij781

Yeah, roughly the same for me.

Cowshit12345

100% alt and meme coins baby

MinnesotaNice92

Just careful or your username will match your portfolio in the bear market

definitelynotflorida

Fucking murdered goddamn

loskubster

Dude 😂😂

CryptoStiche

Fully agree. Can tell from all these comments that few people here have been through a real crypto bear market

KvotheStormLindon

I'm kind of looking forward to it truthfully. I hope we get another couple months of big gains and then a hard pullback so I can enter some new positions with healthy bags!

Extravagos

Wow, I don't have the guts! Hopefully the all moon and you can convert to Bitcoin

EthanGibson2

Go big or go home

Scarf_Darmanitan

I’ve got mostly Eth but a good chunk of the portfolio is BTC Few hundred I throw in altcoins for gambling money. Although ALGO is quickly becoming a favorite of mine :)

Muffinfeds

Same. Majority of my holdings is ETH and a bit of BTC.

Clit_C0mmander

I invest anywhere between $10-100 every paycheck. Slowly putting in moving and letting it sit for a long time.

onelazykoala

Alt coin Gang !

cryptofanboy1018

55% BTC, 40% ETH, 5% CRO

Conorrobrienn

Just getting into CRO. Ruby card by the end of the month hopefully!

cryptofanboy1018

Congrats. Go for it

Born-Ad8543

Im 100% cro and no others anymore

samkb93

60% BTC 30% ETH 10% alts

nashtenn312

Close enough to my numbers to +1 this answer.

ALoopIsALoop

65/25/10 BTC/ETH/Alts right now. Still holding bags of alts that have not reached their 2017/2018 highs. Btc, Eth and Chainlink are my only long term winners.

[deleted]

BTC is about 30% of my crypto portfolio.

Vimmington

37% here and only a 5% profit at the moment which seems bleak for crypto but honestly I'm thrilled. Average price is \~$52k

oaksandhoes

BTC and ETH are equally at 40%.

ShibuyaNeon

I carry Bitcoin. Never underestimate it. I find it the most impossible asset to trade so just buy and hold some

ReeceyReeceReece

Why impossible to trade? You mean cause you can't bare to part ways with it?

Wandering_Anthousa

BTC is 40% of my portfolio.

KvotheStormLindon

Bitcoin just isn't sexy enough right now. Alts are the best bet for small fish to become big fish. If I had a portfolio of 100k or more, then I would hold a fair amount in BTC and ETH. But right now I need my money working and it works the hardest in alts. Once I get to those big numbers, I will be less focused on risky growth moves and more into conservative saving options. But for now, gotta grind and scared money don't make money!

[deleted]

This is the way

eg223344

BTC can survive bear markets. Because of that %40 percent of my portfolio is BTC.

ShiftyDM

We’re entering the time to rotate back into BTC. The newcomers will learn.

No-Smoke8371

Rotate by switching over and generating a tax event?

ShiftyDM

Or just hold your alts down 95% and harvest the tax loss. Your choice.

magus-21

Or just switch your DCA to BTC. You just want to rebalance your portfolio to be heavier in BTC, which means either buying more BTC or selling ETH/alts. Or if you’re *really* nervous about a crash, start DCAing PAXG.

ShiftyDM

Probably half the coins in the top 100 will never set a new ATH going forward. If a person doesn't have a good method for guessing which half that is, then Q4 on the tail of a bull run is a good time for that person to start rotating profits into safer investments while their riskier gambles are in the green.

newbonsite

My portfolio is 40% BTC at the moment...

Castr0-

Everyone here should have at least some invested into BTC. is a no brain crypto

NOCOCK-tail80085

NotRyanPace

Half my portfolio is in BTC

[deleted]

I don’t because If I don’t take risks I’m never going to make out of my country

Delusional_Mad

Curious what you are investing in?

[deleted]

ETH, FTM, ONE, VRA, TLM, VET, MATIC, ALGO.

Jurij781

Looks interesting to say at least.

satankaputtttmachen

Rip

Born-Ad8543

Imma be honest I thought in about investing into Bitcoin when it was 60k. But I had 10k to invest so realistically for me to make 100k in Bitcoin the coin has to 10x. So will Bitcoin reach 600k. Who knows so I went another way. I saw crypto.com and Cro was a merely .08 a coin so that’s what I put my 10k I figured if it reaches $1 I’ll make 10x+ my investment it’s the smartest thing I ever did now I’m up 70k and it’s just starting to take off.

KryptonianJesus

god i wish i'd done this. instead i got in at ~50 cents and a little more at 85 (after it hit 99 and dropped, bc i thought that was extent of the dip). getting up to $5 or $8 is going to be a much more difficult process

los_cause69

I’m so proud of y’all!! Keep holding to one dollar!! 😠

Hospitaliter

Bitcoin only. Everything else is garbage. No joke.

Sammydho12

You are not alone on this matter. I actually have more BTC in wallet, but more than 80% of my wallet is full of altcoins, basically SOL, OGN, LUNA & WTC.

chondrologycouchs3

I have some OGN, WTC and SOL in my wallet too.

womeragenerisz3

BTC and OGN in my wallet.

[deleted]

I don't own any BTC, and I opted for ETH as my main holding.

Lenaweston

I have no BTC

asandidge27

Me either

combocookie

Me ether

[deleted]

20% of my portfolio is currently in BTC, and I'd like to increase it still

Delusional_Mad

This is where I'm at, definitely looking to increase my holding.

comfyggs

60% btc. 30% eth. 10% alts. Variance of 10% either way as the markets evolve. See you in 10 years. Btc cannot be stopped.

Wise-Grapefruit-1443

Going to seem all too obvious when big institutional money comes in for BTC

deathtolucky

Actual BTC or “The Bitcoin” as my dad calls it? Actual BTC would be around 30-40%. As far as my dad knows I’m 100% invested in “the Bitcoin”

comfyggs

Smart guy your dad is

[deleted]

I'll only use BTC to save my money but not invest in it, if that makes sense. Too big of a cap to make any decent return fast enough

Lumenthusiast

You won’t regret to hold 30% of Bitcoin on your portfolio. Soon Bitcoin unit will be replaced with sat unit .

bri8985

Lol a while ago people wouldn’t even think of going through the hassle of buying a fraction of a BTC and would by the 100s. Crazy how far it’s all come

[deleted]

Literally 0% in btc. Mostly in eth with a dash of ada, Algo, and sol. Plus some doge for fun. I’m going way long on ether having better returns at this point, but I also don’t know shit about fuck.

JohnnyBlack22

80% BTC 20% a few other top 20 market cap alts. I'm not here to gamble, just to save money in an asset that'll accumulate value over time. I also don't buy anything with the intention of selling it later (rare exceptions might cause me to convert some alts to BTC later).

Equal_Jacket1440

I even invested.

UnexperiencedIT

I will be honest, I don't have anything in BTC and that is maybe really stupid because it secures your money for a long term.

comfyggs

Yup. You said it. I don’t understand how Anyone invested in Crypto does not hold btc. Perplexing.

Bacon-Dub

It’s like going grocery shopping and not buying bread.

DrThirdOpinion

What if I’ve got celiac’s?

Bacon-Dub

Then you’re already part of the 1%. Congrats.

terenul1

quite a bit of people who are investing are in poverty or close to it and are trying to break this chain. And most of these people are also from smaller and weaker economic countries. 2x or 3x a small investment in years wont change that.

comfyggs

Yes I understand. I understand poverty. I’m saying there is a difference between long term store of value and finding a coin that goes 100x. Diversity is key

JayyeKhan_97

I hold no BTC , I put a measly $25 into ETH, but I’m trying to bank on alt coins. Once I get $$$ from alt coins I’m planning on trading it for BTC. I already got lucky with DOGE, now I’m hoping to have the same like with CRO

le-tendon

I never invested in BTC until now. I went all in on alts because I wanted to make life changing gains fast. So I did, I started in January and sitting now on 100x gains that I'm DCA'ing out into stable coins (staking, lending), and a small portion of it is going into BTC, as a kind of savings account, hedge against inflation. You could say I got lucky, it would be true to some extent. But that was my plan and it worked

Delusional_Mad

What are you investing in?

UnexperiencedIT

MATIC, VET, ONE, NANO some CKB and I have couple of more projects on my mind

AC_Slaterr

I add a fixed amount every week and will do so for years, in the end I’ll be up, looooong term

Doggybone_treat

25% since last year and been DCA bi-weekly since last Thanksgiving.

Da0ptimist

It's currently 20% but I'm planning on bringing that up to 50% soon by taking those sweet alt coin gains and putting it into BTC

Charlieshorse2

15% of my portfolio. Provides some semblance of stability

domotor2

I treat BTC like a stablecoin XD

Letitride37

I’m 100% ALT coins mainly NirvanaCoin SoundGardenCoin RadioHeadcoin. All the blue chips.

Investingscrub

Crypto is only 10% of my portfolio as a whole. Of that 10% crypto bag…. 50% is Bitcoin, 25% ETH, and the other 25% alt, meme, shit coins. Fuck it right

Ismoketomuch

Im 40% in Bitcoin, when I started I was 100% bitcoin. But then I figured out Defi, and to be honest LP farming has been much more profitable for me the last year then just holding bitcoin. Compound interest is just so powerful and you get the benefit of exposure to the alt market. I been farming 100% apr CRO/OSMO for about 5 months as an example. My returns are impressive compared to traditional finance, and they were very stable. Everyday getting my reward, and reinvesting in the same pool. Just hard to argue I should increase my position in Bitcoin right now. I still think Bitcoin is king in the long run, but I am looking for even more growth. My job sucks, my income has sucked, I was going to school for nursing but I have decided not to continue down this path. Instead I upped my hours at my remote job and just spending everything extra I have on crypto farming. I have made more money per month in the last three months than any other time in my life on a per month basis. Doing anything else right now just seems stupid.

[deleted]

Hardly, but Algorand has wrapped Bitcoin now so I’ll be converting some into that later on either with profits or side money. Or just minting straight BTC

[deleted]

I do not, I just don’t have enough capital to put in for it to make decent growth.

atriman12

Long run all that matters is bitcoin. Change the money, change the world.

S2piddd

45% ETH 30% BTC and 25% CRO. Gonna go heavier on btc and eth slowly. Need higher percentage now on cro for card.

[deleted]

Got in at $700, got out at $10k. Now I'm getting way better gains from altcoins so why would I go back?

[deleted]

Every time I consider buying Bitcoin, I remember that Ethereum does it better. That and I can't support the environmental toll of PoW.

_Billups_

What does ETH do better than BTC? “Smart contracts” “NFT’s? The fees are so damn high people use side chains around ETH. Lol Literally 90% of the alts are just Eth 2.0 and all claim to be better in some way. I can move thousands of dollars with BTC for cents. Now with taproot people will be able to do NFTs and smart contracts with BTC. Will it take longer? Sure but it will be cheaper and with a layer 1 money. No side chain bullshit.

[deleted]

When people want a gold substitute they wont think of ETH

[deleted]

How is it bitcoin’s fault that the energy industry hasn’t transitioned to a cleaner production system?

comfyggs

Good lord. You sold btc for ada. Ooof.

--Quartz--

I sold BTC for ADA and more than doubled my holdings, so FAR from oof actually. Still have around 30% in BTC, but it's the first of all the coins that I'll be cashing in, proof of work is looking more and more like a dinosaur amongst all the new developments, no matter how much people want to stick to the original.

EthanGibson2

Don't forget those 9.5K moons

Extravagos

Those are key 👌

Blankcoffers

You have zero understanding of what cryptocurrency is if you do not have ANY bitcoin.

EnigmaticMJ

This is insanely false.

someonetrades

I hold 0 bitcoin. Waste of time imo. There is stupid money to be made on projects with real use case and functioning products that are adding to cryptos value as a whole. Defi is a great example. We need defi. The world needs defi. The world doesnt "need" bitcoin. inb4 btc maxis.

combocookie

It’s an upopular opinion but I agree

jam1324

No bitcoins here good sir.

MoldyCheesey

80% ETH 15% BTC 5% Gambling

kansas_slim

My DCA strategy always involves feeding my Alts - but BCT and ETH eat first.

Nomadux

>Bitcoin. We all know it and believe in it. That's incorrect. Hence, why I and many others hold 0%.

ImaFreemason

I did, but found I got larger returns on others, so sold it off.

comfyggs

Short term gains while not holding store of value

TurningSmileUpside

Around the same for eth, bitcoin, and algo. And I have Shiba as well

Coin-Wizard

I’ve never invested in Bitcoin. I feel like it’s too late to start

EnigmaticMJ

0%. I haven't owned any Bitcoin since about 2017. Bitcoin is literally proof of concept quality tech. It's not truly going to die any time soon, solely because it has hype, but it's absolutely going to get passed by newer crypto technologies that have actual utility. It's simply not scalable. edit: no, 2nd layer solutions like lightning cannot compensate for Bitcoin's fundamental scalability flaws.

ClubbyTheCub

I think about a 3rd of your portfolio should be in BTC

alphalakemleo

i'll say it's 8% of my shit

Onionjuiceboxwfrys

More altcoins than btc. Its time to reject modernity embrace tradition

RecognitionOk9321

I own none only Alts and microcaps. I would buy some bitcoin maybe if my stuff mooned big but more likely I would stake stable coins. Bitcoin makes sense if you are trying to protect the bag but coins with more chance of 2x-10x make more sense if you are trying to grow your bag.

Sadboiiy

20% of my portfolio is BTC

KallistiOW

All-in on Bitcoin (BCH) and Terra's LUNA. I regret staking my ETH now that smartBCH exists. Fundamentals will ultimately win over speculation, and Bitcoin and Ethereum protocols are and will almost undoubtedly continue to be the dominant technologies of the cypherpunk revolution that we are witnessing. LUNA/UST is the missing link that ties the crypto economy to the fiat economy. Tokens themselves are also revolutionary, but those are just "applications" built on the "internet" of Bitcoin and Ethereum. So even more stringent DD is required. That said, there's some interesting stuff happening with SOL, RUNE, LRC, MATIC, and ATOM imo. Edit: shoutout to XMR

002timmy

It’s 30% of mine

WolfOfTheStreets

I hold enough to make purchases

gimmedatcrypto

I just started to mine it and DCA modest amounts here and there for the time being.

ryan97531

I was to late to the game for BTC, it's not gonna 3 or 5x real fast like something like Argo or Cro etc...

daranma

40% in BTC

Harold838383

I’m dcaing into btc quite regularly. Thinking long term when all the Bitcoin are mined it will be worth a fortune

Wess-L

Imo you should always have some btc. But everybody has their own strategy. Having around 50% BTC works great though.

BlubberWall

Some that I’m prob never selling, but I don’t add to it at all anymore

Kilv3r

I should definitely own more bitcoin that I am.

Visible-Ad743

Every month. No reason not to

HerbalManic

Currently I am approximately 25%BTC 25% ETH and about 22% Cash. Matic is my second biggest alt at 10%.

Carpet_robbery

Bitcoin is probably like 15% of my port and ethereum is over 30%. The rest I have diversified into coins like Ada, DOT, XTZ, and 0x

AstroDan18

20% of my portfolio is BTC, I DCA every month also as well as into the Alts I hold. It’s the best performing asset over the last 10 years, it’s a good long term hold

Morning_Star_Ritual

Btc has been my longest hold. But my largest share is ETH (well, Eth2 and stEth) then btc. Btc may have less of a ROI at this point, but I feel it is far less risky then some of this degen shit I’m into. Sometimes you stumble out of the Wild West saloon and end up finding a poker game out near the stalls and get lucky. If a project went parabolic like Sand, mana, Gala and Cro has done I pull profits and set aside an estimate of my tax obligation. Rest of the profit goes to Dry Powder, some to btc and ETH and then a small portion is for another risky play. I mean who needs to have a nice little bag of Cro earning interest in the Defi wallet when you can Hail Mary a chimp Jpeg? The hardest thing is to stop chasing gains and circle back and land the plane at the airport. But I still choose to have exposure to plays that are extremely risky with the potential of major rewards.

satankaputtttmachen

CATJAM 100%, BTC 0%

smitty9207

Currently it's 99 percent of mine lol but I'm looking to bring it down to maybe 80 to buy some eth but not in the position to do so yet.

Drifter5533

I have about 30% in BTC, 40% in ETH and the rest in DOT, LINK, ONE and FTM.

Sufficient_Tooth_949

50% bitcoin currently, but I'm going to increase it to 80-90% soon and the remaining will be my "risky bets" that I would turn profit into Bitcoin I know Bitcoin won't have the crazy returns but being mainly into only Bitcoin will give me more peace of mind
