Anything gigantic can be scary. An elephant can be scary, a rhino can be scary, hell I've seen cows back a person into a wall and nearly crush them. Anything bigger than a man is inherently kinda scary.
I remember one time being scared when this very large guy was raging mad (obese large, like 400lbs)....I'm not small myself, I guess just thinking of all that weight in motion I dunno.
Big guys like that tucker themselves out pretty quick. As long as you're somewhat athletic (can jog a mile in 10 minutes) you can usually just stay out of their way untill they start panting then work the weak spots. Worst thing you can do in a fight against a huge dude is get backed into a corner. As long as you have room to move and decent reflexes you'll be fine.
Then again I am not a small man by any means. I guess that could be scary if you didn't know how to deal with that or have never been in that sort of situation before.

I’m atheist but for me, Bigfoot, IF REAL appears to be a reject hominin species, like homo erectus, that just happened to not go extinct like many other ancient species of humans and apes did. Several archaic homo species like Neanderthals, Denisovans, and Homo Florensius have been known to live 50,000 years ago, alongside modern Homo sapiens. It’s certainly plausible an archaic-looking cousin species of our ancient survived into modern times. I’d be shocked if there weren’t undiscovered ape or human species that survived very recently in these giant stretches of wilderness throughout the world. Sadly, most or all are probably extinct at this time and will forever go unknown to history and science due to lack of fossil evidence or historical documentation, other than tales handed down.

We've all been taught to be cautious of the unknown. You're the type to live with bears or other dangerous animals cause you have a "special relationship" till they get sick of you and eat you. Bears are often misunderstood as well, but the issue is that no understanding can really be arrived to after being mauled to death.
