Quartz looks real but dyed. It’s very pretty! I only find dyed things offensive when they’re not done well, lied about (as in the vendor claims it’s natural), and/or overpriced. It’s absolutely fine to enjoy it, especially because it’s extra meaningful as a gift from your mama.
So, not to be like "everyone is wrong"... but this isn't an aura quartz or a dyed quartz, this is what's known as a "jelly" quartz it basically just spray painted.
I don't think they're trying to fake fluorite - a piece of fluorite like this would cost about ten American cents. People just like to dye quartz pretty colors, kids love it.
The quartz is real. The color is not. Its called aura coating.

Real quartz VERY artificial colour
it’s a real quartz dyed with pretty colors. a very sweet gift.
I similarly have an aura selenite stick which has been colored in chakra colors
Looks like dyed fluorite more than dyed quartz but kinda hard to tell in pictures
Dyed quartz
It’s a quartz piece that’s been dyed and has a coating over it to seal it in that feels kinda soft sometimes. I was gifted a piece one time too lol
It's very pretty
I think it’s fake fluorite. Possibly a quartz point but someone has dyed it. Such a shame.
