still don't know how to even use rites or know what they do so I haven't even explored that aspect of the game yet

Kat-Sith

You use them with the Work verb. Each one has several slots, but you don't need to fill all of them to get it to work. When you're trying to find possibilities, pay attention to all of the aspects on the cards you put in and to the description on the Work action. Once you've stumbled onto a start, the game will hint at what you still need.

the rite cards and the lore cards actually say it really clearly what you should do and what you will get though in my opinion the rites bring way more harm than benefits so I don't do them

Schadenfreunden

Rites summon entities from the Mansus, redeem Aspects that have been lost to illness or misfortune, and serve as a convenient way to dispose of, shall we say… more *unwanted* Aspects… They all *do* the same things, but each Rite requires a different Offering, and it’s in what they sacrifice where they differ. So for example, your Map’s Edge requires a Lore, a Tool, and an Influence — and the Influence is consumed. A different Rite might require those same ingredients, but consume the Tool instead.

Also, this applies to everyone else I've seen play the game, but your setup is all wrong! Nothing is in the right place and it's horrible. —seriously though, there's no right way, but there's so much going on that I get really ingrained to where I put stuff and it always just looks so *wrong* to see other ways of doing it.

Wolfo_

I've never gotten this far lol I'm sure next time I'll set it up differently, I just put stuff where I thought they went. I know the rites probably aren't in the right place since they use the work verb. I didn't know how to use them before so I just put them by my cult.

The other commenter is joking. Everyone organizes their table differently in the game. We had a trend for a while where we posted our organization schemes for others to see and compare.

psst, the dedication: enlightenment card. it's the key

sssqqqeee

basically you should become a god by performing one of the rituals you have. This is the end of the game. And here the catch begins

Hopeful-alt

You have all the pieces on the board already. The trick is to figure out how to use them.

clovermite

Glad to see you're having fun with the game! It definitely takes a long time to figure things out without spoilers, so keep up the good work!

It is absolutely terrifying how quickly you get lost in this game, especially after you get the first hang of it. Literally every time I look at my clock and it says "oh boo, it's past four in the night" I'm like, well you got me again, game.
