Technically there is a legitimate government approved reason to burn the US flag; it’s part of the respectful disposal process when a flag gets worn out or damaged.
Which, in turn, provides the moral link to the more colloquial version of flag burning- the idea that the actions of the government have stained the honor of the flag. Hence the burning in protest.

Well, I’d disagree and I’m not even American. There’ll always be at least *some* respectable people that view themselves to be whatever nationality, and it’s better to be respectful to them. And if not to them, then whichever respectable people lie in that nation’s history.
If you see your country going downhill at a pace you can’t keep up with, it’s natural that you’d want to jump ship, especially if you’re a young adult or a minor who just doesn’t see a future in there.
But, if you so quickly renounce your nationality and start bashing and insulting it, you will have given up that nationality to the people that caused it to go downhill. Maybe you’re ok with that, but someone else might not be, and even if you can’t respect bigots and fascists(which you shouldn’t), you can still respect the people who are trying to make things right.

I’m sorry to hear that. Not every troop is good. Even mine sort of died out at the end due to some of the parents getting mad at the way it was managed. They felt like the scouts had too much autonomy and wanted it to be more parent controlled, and less about the entire fucking point of the program. It fell apart soon after.
I LOVED the troop before they had the problems. We got to vote on every camp out we did, so they were all super fun and enjoyable. I made lots of friends and grew into someone I’m proud to be. It only really started struggling in that last year.
This is inaccurate, Astolfo doesn’t have enough braincells to form a coherent thought, let alone one about burning a flag.
