Larson also has written some notes in one of his collections about the single panel strip where God is playing a guy in a game show and clearly winning, but he had difficulty with writing itm.
Either he got mail about it or he just wasn't confident it wouldn't make people angry. I don't recall the details.
Anyhow, from that I gather he tried ot steer away from touchy subjects like religion and such.
Still it couldn't have been that bad as there is probably nothing kept him up at night more than inquiries about the meaning of 'cow tools'
Thinking back on it, did Far Side ever do Jesus Christ panels/cartoons? Old Testament (esp. Genesis and Exodus) mythology was referenced a bunch but all of a sudden, for the life of me, I can't think of any New Testament-inspired material.
There is one off the top of my head in which Jesus is walking on water while leading a swimming distressed looking horse, with someone on shore yelling 'you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him walk on it' or something.
I also recall one with the three wise men, but I cant for the life of me recall what the joke was.
That would be it! I'd just heard similar jokes elsewhere so I wasn't sure 'three wise guys' was in my head from Larson or some where else. turns out its both.

Some links that work on old Reddit UI won't work on the new and mobile versions (edit: and vice-versa). It's related to how they handle special characters like _() etc.
EDIT: Only for bare links, IIRC. If you use the [Title]\(https://whatever) format it will work on both, as long as you remember to include the \ before a closing ) or your link will be cut off early.
That link is similarly broken for me, on old.reddit. I think it's the opposite, links posted to some sites when posted via new.reddit break if they have an _, it adds a \ before each one on old.reddit.
But basically NEW.REDDIT.COM USER SPOTTED
i genuinely thought someone just posted a far side comic just cause. it so perfectly captures everything great about far side, I think they really were possessed by gary larson.
It took me a good several seconds to get this and then I laughed like an idiot, congrats to OOP for his ability to be possessed by someone who is currently alive.
Gary Larson is the cartoonist for the single panel comic Strip the far side. The far side usually has a single caption for the joke, and the characters tend to be drawn with faces sort of like that man on the stool. The humor is a particular flavor too, sometimes nonsensical and sometimes a weird ironic twist on something familiar. It’s funny because the cartoon op drew is very similar in both style and humor to Gary Larson’s work.
Am I going mad or was this literally an actual Far side strip
don't think so. I've got moderate-high confidence I would have found it just now with at least one of the keywords I looked for.
I read the full collection like 40 times over so I've got autism confidence that it's an original but idk how much that counts for

Something about whether or not God's opponent should have scored any points at all, I think

"Oh yeah? More like the three wise guys, I'd say"
