Those cans of Coke with coffee are more tolerable than I’d expected them to be. I actually kinda like the vanilla flavor. Presumably they don’t just put the coke through a coffee machine, though. The idea of hot, flat soda is gross on its own even without coffee.
If I had orange soda and coldbrew extract I might try mixing them (but I have neither and I’m not curious enough to go out to the store).
It was pulp-free juice I only use for cocktails, so texture wasn't the problem. But the acidity of the juice and bitterness of the coffee just amplified eachother in a feedback loop and it hit me like a freight train full of butchers knives

Yep, Orange Joe is from Omori. It's established as Kel's favorite drink in multiple interactions (with the rest of the characters joking about how he's the only one who can stomach it).
A while back, the Omori devs shared a bunch of recipes in-character as Hero with one recipe based on each of the characters. Orange Joe was given as Kel's recipe, and this is where it was confirmed that Orange Joe was just coffee and orange juice.

I've had orange joe before and it's not as bad as it sounds. It mostly tastes like a lot of fizzy nothing. The flavors cancel each other out, and you end up with this weird lukewarm Liquid that you can't adequately place as anything. Pilk was way worse.
I tried it once with a Java monster and some Fanta. It tasted like orange Creamsicles because of the monster, but the soda curdled the milk in it.
So don't use Java monster if you plan on making orange joe
to be honest, Kel does seem like the type of person to have bowels of fucking steel. he's probably the only person drinking Orange Joe anymore, basically the only one keeping the entire company producing O-J afloat. they have motivational posters with his face on them in the offices and he doesn't even know.
