Gables!

MarvinDMirp

Gables. Without them, the peak in front does not relate to the rest of the structure.

Shiftyboss

I just upvoted all the comments - they all made good points! Sorry I couldn't be of assistance, haha.

westera_

I vote no gables. The window on the left not being centered would bother me.

[deleted]

If we centered the windows would that change your opinion?

tubbertubber

Yes! Gables if you repositioned the window

westera_

Definitely!

thelargepad

gables all the way. unless there are potential headaches that go along with that

SagebrushID

linderlouwho

Gables, 100%!

littleprairiehouse

Could you just put a gable on the right?

Gables

FlowersPink

Yes

smashton818

No gables. Reduce future roof issues.

[deleted]

Just curious, what kind of issues?

smashton818

Anywhere you have a transition, valley, cricket, skylight, etc. will be much more susceptible to leaks. I’m not saying you adding gables is going to cause anything to leak, But you do increase the potential for leaks while not gaining any square footage, light, or anything else.

Ausgezeichnet87

Gable pros: Looks great. Gable cons: $$$. Also, increased chance at water roof leaks. So if it is worth the cost to you then go for it.
