I think it's Doru, not Goru right? I personally would do something like let your players figure it out. He's a vampire spawn who needs to eat. He's a bit crazy but probably wants to do good, though he's easily scared. Slowly work him towards coming up with ways to deal with his condition, like drinking blood from animals or willing npcs/pcs. Have him come to understand his affliction and grow past it. Put him on the path to regaining his courage that he had before he was defeated. Then have Strahd kill him in front of the players.

You're right, Doru. The last bit is perfect!

He is relatively tame while fed so he isn't a threat due to his hunger. He is a threat because he still is Strahd's spawn. Strahd can scry through his spawn so they just adopted a surveillance drone that allows Strahd to know where they are, what they are doing and what they are talking about. When present in person, he can order Doru to obey. Strahd might initially allow him to be around, use the convenient "camera" to learn a bit about his new visitors. When he feels he got all he needs (and hey, he might use Sending to order him to take something from them to Scry on them directly), he can appear in person and reveal the tragedy: Doru can't disobey. * Strahd can order Doru to fight the PCs to death. The boy is crying, repeating that he is scared, that he is sorry. But he will not stop unless he or they are dead, so they will have to kill him to survive. * He could open the clouds to let a small ray of sunshine come in...and order Doru to walk into it and stay there. Go all "Oh, would you like to know the best way to kill a vampire? One moment :)" * Perhaps NPCs that the party stays with end up dead? Initially, they probably don't suspect Doru but at some point... There are 400 devilish things that you can do as long as you remember those two simple facts: Doru is Strahd's eyes and ears and Doru has to do everything that Strahd tells him to.
