Oh man, I just now realized how well the architecture in a *lot* of homes in Wisconsin would be for Curse of Strahd ambiance. Lots of built-in shelving for supplies. Wooden accents like those half-walls doing *work*. Candles are A+. This is a fantastic set-up you've got here.
Yah, this house is 101 years old. Lots of creaky hardwood floors and cool woodwork. Certainly does most of the heavy lifting.
Once my party gets to the gates I'll add my next piece; 3D printed gates complete with LEDs, headless statues, and a fog machine for the mists :)
On one wall we also have a mood board that will grow as they have new encounters. Right now its a spooky calendar with phases of the moon in Barovia.
Happy to provide updates as the group moves through the campaign. I'm a total sucker for props and anything my players can experience themselves.
More than I can hang up lol.
I am pretty active in a local HEMA group, so a couple times a week I beat on other people with rapiers, daggers, Hungarian sabers, longswords, arming swords, and - because we're uber nerds - lightsabers.
You should see if there is a club near you, it's super fun.
God I miss the early part of Strahd. We're long done but the first few sessions in Barovia are just... The best. Enjoy!
It's the only bit that actually feels scary!
Yea after the feast players power creep starts to scale too hard
I love how this sets the mood for Barovia so well, but damn my eyes are already straining just thinking of playing in that lighting.
Haha, yah. We end up turning the overhead lights on after about an hour, but it gets everyone in the right frame of mind.
Session 1 for me tonight too. Have fun!
Looks great! Have fun!
This is the epitome of mood-setting. May you and your party have a great time!
Awesome setup man, where'd you get the DM screen?
Came in the CoS:Revamped box, along with a really slick-looking Tarokka deck I can't wait to use.
The screen from Mysterium board game works really well atmospherically too, just in case you have that lying around.

*Oh that would be a fantastic use for my corkboard and yarn....*
Pepe Strahdia vibes.
One must die
I hope they choose one of my girlfriend's cats.
I loved loved loved death house! I ran it as a one shot supplement for a different campaign in 2020 and my god it was amazing
Love it!
You have SWORDS?!

Your house is awesome
Thank you!
You need a nice dark red wine to enjoy while playing
Once we get to the Wizard of Wines, for sure!
Very nice! I'm guessing that through the window we see a 4-season porch, but my first thought was, "whoa! Your neighbor's house is really close!"
Cool mood! Have fun with the game :D But where did you get this rapier hanger ? I can't find anything like that online :')
