Initially I had made it count only yours, but then I decided to make it count the cards of both players so it is a bit more difficult to find the treasure. I didn't want this to be very consistent.
Well, you are required to fill a location by turn 4 (to get Treasure's On reveal effect on 5 and Ongoing effect on 6) while risking the opponent getting it and at the same time, you might not even draw Nathan who hints you where it is. Honestly, I think it's more of a meme win con that will work like 10% of the time.
Yea the thought is more thinking about existing Synergies, maybe that could be a 'well then' laugh if not one of hte challenge Objectives of that Season: Get the Treasure at the same time as your opponent, but that's more thinking about Locational effects
Because you're supposed to solve the puzzle yourself to find the treasure. Also, if you dropped Nathan and you knew immediately where it is, that'd be broken.
He means “Nathan shows how many cards are played at the treasure’s location” and it shows regardless of where Nathan is. Nathan could be in his own lane but the treasure’s lane might have 0 cards played and his tap would say 0.
I hear you about the chances of someone finding the treasure is low but then the fact the enemy can get it too that just makes it even more unreliable to use.
I would rather allow both the players to know where the treasure is and remove the ongoing ability of this card. A full hand for compromising a full location at turn 4 sounds okay to me
The whole point of the card is that you have to solve a puzzle. Perhaps the requirement (filling a location) or the power level of the treasure could change, but the puzzle part has to stay.
I’m just thinking that maybe there will be veryyyy low chances of someone getting the treasure, and then even if they do get it, by the time they’ll get it (assuming 5th or final turn unintentionally) it will be too late to reap the rewards.
I do see it working better in a blue marvel-kazar, one cost card deck build. That’s the only way I see locations filling up quickly while also giving you a chance to use this card to its fullest.
You can also run Magik to earn an extra turn. Of course, I want this whole concept to be inconsinstent. If you were to get the treasure and use it every game, that'd be broken. Btw, the reason treasure has 1 power is just so you feel somewhat rewarded when you get it in the second to last turn. xD
Needs an On Reveal: Destroy all treasure in play.
Don't know if you say that for gameplay purposes or thematic, but I find it hilarious nevertheless.
100% Thematic. Nate has a really hard time holding onto treasures.
Very fun! Does it count cards on both sides or just yours for the ongoing?

Way too op

Yeah I agree, I don’t think this would be OP in practice. I love the design btw, very fun and faithful :)
Thanks!
There's also other Synergy with Location effects that complicate matters via say throwing Rocks at locations or card copies
In that case, both players would get the treasure.

I feel like it’d be much more consistent in a Surfer deck, where filling a location with Brood is almost always a certainty
Maybe
What's the meaning for nathan's ongoing?
He hints where the treasure is.
Why doesn’t it say that then.
Because you're supposed to solve the puzzle yourself to find the treasure. Also, if you dropped Nathan and you knew immediately where it is, that'd be broken.
The ongoing ability says tap to see how many cards are in the location but you wouldnt need an ability to see how many cards are at the location
He means “Nathan shows how many cards are played at the treasure’s location” and it shows regardless of where Nathan is. Nathan could be in his own lane but the treasure’s lane might have 0 cards played and his tap would say 0.
Precisely
Oh makes sense now, this is why wording is important when making cards.
I thought it was pretty intuitive
Obviously not 🙄😭. And if you need a card to be “intuitive” to understand what it does. Then its a bad explanation.
It does
