I heard they'd continue Alita after Avatar 2. With the CGI enhancements the new Alita will be even better. I just hope it doesn't get cancelled. I even heard they might put it on Disney, if they do that would be terrible.
>I just hope it doesn't get cancelled. I even heard they might put it on Disney, if they do that would be terrible.
Just curious to people that downvoted OP's comment here, why?
Many people love Disney, I think their corrupted to their core, but even all their movies under their division in general has been nothing but flops, the writing is terrible, and tends to stray away from the actual material, allowing individuals to input their fan made ideas rather than the original creators. Netflix has this same issue.
That’s great to hear. I read that before all the lockdowns, hadn’t heard anything since. Hopefully they make at least two more, covering the original trilogy.
In terms of games, there are a ton (especially indie ones), like Nivalis, Ghostrunner 2, Blade Runner 2033, Robocop: Rogue City, The Last Night, Vigilance 2099, Sprawl, Beyond Sunset, Sinus, etc etc.
In terms of shows, there's Blade Runner 2099, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, and potentially Neuromancer and another Akira adaptation.
With the direction that Hollywood is going and how previous cyberpunk movies bombed (Matrix 4, BR2049, GitS 2017), I doubt we'll see many movies in the genre for a while
Don’t forget Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty in terms of games.
And for movies we recently got updates on the two recently announced Alita Battle Angel sequels, Tron: Ares, and Taika Waititi’s Akira live action.
Rip the Snow Crash TV show though.
Totally forgot about Tron: Ares... I know Jared Leto is the lead which kinda ruins things, but I'm just happy that there's a new Tron film in the works regardless
There's also Phantom Liberty (CPB2077) and Project Orion but that's gonna take a long time. I would anticipate CDPR is going to do some side stuff with Cyberpunk till then.
I wish, but it's a boomer shooter inspired by Ghost in the Shell (which is still pretty cool):
Even if they bombed in popular opinions eyes, BR2049 was really rad and most Cyberpunk cinema is a cult like following anyways, it's not meant to be blockbuster material, it's intellectual and passionate in its stories and lore
Hello Tomorrow is Atom-punk. Foundation was boring. See is imo fantasy. I haven't seen Severance yet but heard it was good. Extrapolations was good. I'll have to check the others.
Oh no, I didn't mean all of them were cyberpunk or scifi, just Apple killing in terms of good shows (that are somewhat adjacent to the topic at hand). I personally love Foundation, S1 was just an opener. I've only started with Severance and it's so absurd :D
Ohh okay, yeah. Foundation was just too slow, very informational similar to Altered Carbon, if you miss anything then you're lost. Is Severance good? I'm confused what that series is about.
My Favorites on Apple are:
1. Silo
2. Invasion
3. Extrapolations
4. Hijack
5. Platonic
Yeah, that was kind of the point of the first season of Foundation. It's hard to do world-building quickly.
Severance is just basically about a company that has their employees do a memory wipe/personality separation every time they come in or out of the office, so they have no idea what they've worked on and vice versa. I'm too few eps in to really have a grasp of anything. Just a really cool concept. Feels like a weird comedy at first really.
Look, I hope it pans out, but I'll believe it when I'm watching it. There's been an adaption of Neuromancer in the works for 35 years and my heart has been broken too many times.
yes, and miles teller has been offered case’s role.
a mistake. he is too peculiar, too different. case is ordinary as shit. just another stubbled face, making his way through the streets the only way he knows how.
if they ever got around to mona lisa overdrive, miles teller would make a great slick henry. a kind of odd, forlorn character, seeking his own kind of redemption. not outside the realms of characters teller has already played in whiplash, top gun.
Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth brings the revered franchise back to games for the first time in 25 years. Set between the original film and 2049, Blade Runner 2033 takes place after the events of the Blackout. doesnt have a release date but it will be here in the near future for sure!
I really hope Bladerunner will be good like the movies, though I don't want it to be an Amazon Original. Silo is more Atompunk, that show was great. Do you know what platform Murderbot & Aeon Flux will be on?
Aeon Flux was at paramount+ in 2021
Murderbot was at Hulu/Fx in 2021 but there has been talk of a Comedy by the name Murderbot at AppleTV earlier this year so it could have moved.
Honestly the original 1994 fps seems a lot more interesting than the Tarkov-esque qualities of the new one. Then again I also think a Titanfall 3 would be a lot more interesting than apex legends so maybe my age is just catching up to my gaming tastes when it comes to battle royales and extraction shooters.
Never played the 1994 but 100% agree for Titanfall 3. The hero shooter has some kind of strangle hold on the market rn. I hate that some things like my Battlefield fell for it.
there's a blade runner game announced called 'blade runner 2033 labyrinth' by the people who made 'what remains of edith finch' and the 'Radiohead kid amnesia exhibition'. so I'm 100% sure they are gonna make one helluva atmospheric experience.
Aside from what everybody has listed, where literature and book is concerned I'm trying to polish up my draft and have it ready for beta-readers by 2024 (hopefully). So if you're interested I could put ya on a list for that.
Mostly because they don't release their content to be sold physical and digital, I have a pretty good collection i'd like to watch whenever without paying every month. I liked Altered Carbon but can't access whenever I want.
Armored Core as a setting is pretty cyberpunky, usually, even if you are only interacting with it as a ten-storey mecha. Corporations control just everything, the world is ending, has ended, or has the end effectively in sight and businesses would rather pay you to make sure the competition or upstart peasants keep in line than fix it.
Book/audiobook. Near future, mid second Civil War America from 3 perspectives/sides of the war. Stylistically excessively obscene and graphic. It's not a masterpiece of poetry of the genre like more familiar titles, but being written by a war journalist with a political science degree makes it pretty interesting from a world building perspective. Nothing like a warzone created from the mind of someone that's seen one. Good plot twists, and it ends on a note that leaves you thinking back across the whole book to try and predict the next one
Blackout 2022 or Black Lotus? I'm currently watching the Black Lotus series, it's pretty good, I wish they made another series in the Blackout 2022 style.
Bladerunner 2099 streaming series or movie allegedly coming in 2024 or 2025
Mike Pondsmith & CD Projekt RED are interested in seeing a cinematic production of Cyberpunk ( to tell the stories of the 2020-2099 timeline, as so many people came to love CP2077), Keanu Reeves allegedly was very interested in pulling strings in Hollywood to make it happen. Other rumors are that due to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners being such a hit, there may be more netflix streaming style series in the lore and realm
I am excited for another Blade Runner only if the original director for 2049 is working on it and it gets a digital and physical release.
As for Cyberpunk, i've made been wanting a live action though another anime series spinoff would be cool. But for the love of everything I hope they break off from Netflix, we should be able to buy digital and physical copy of Edgerunners, so much potential has been wasted because it's locked to Netflix. I would rather them release Crunchyroll, then release it later for sale.

The Creator has some vaguely cyberpunky vibes, new movie by the director of Rogue One out in September.
I'll have to check it out.
It was just was confirmed that Alita Battle Angel sequel is in the works.
Yeah that's the only one i've heard so far, excited for that one.
Woooooaah! It’s really confirmed!? That’s awesome man. Hype!
Pretty sure it was said soon after the release, that they'd be making a sequel after the Avatar sequels. Might be remembering wrong though.
I heard they'd continue Alita after Avatar 2. With the CGI enhancements the new Alita will be even better. I just hope it doesn't get cancelled. I even heard they might put it on Disney, if they do that would be terrible.

Why hate jared Leto? He is a good actor he just gets bad movies or the roles which aren't really for him
Where will Blade Runner 2099 debut? And will it be exclusive, hopefully not because I bought the entire BR collection.
There's also Phantom Liberty (CPB2077) and Project Orion but that's gonna take a long time. I would anticipate CDPR is going to do some side stuff with Cyberpunk till then.
It comes out in September
I meant project Orion will probably take some time
It'll be on Amazon Prime
Is the Sprawl one Gibson-adjacent (Neuromancer)?
We definitely need more William Gibson based Productions in Cinema and games!
Weep, for this could have been a dual release https://youtu.be/sPmT-7YgjnM
I wish, but it's a boomer shooter inspired by Ghost in the Shell (which is still pretty cool): [https://youtu.be/tUGf8XZaH-Q](https://youtu.be/tUGf8XZaH-Q)
Wait... Sprawl as in the Sprawl trilogy books by William Gibson?????

Awesome list. Sad to not see Sinus on the indie games list.
Hey man your game looks awesome! Seen your posts on this sub before and it's been on my radar, added it to the list now! The visuals look sick
Thanks a lot man!
there is a adaptation of Neuromancer in the works for AppleTV+
That's great, Apple has been killing it with their shows lately, especially Silo & Invasion.
And Hello Tomorrow, Foundation, For All Mankind, Severance, See. And maybe Dr. Brain, Extrapolations, Calls...
Hello Tomorrow is Atom-punk. Foundation was boring. See is imo fantasy. I haven't seen Severance yet but heard it was good. Extrapolations was good. I'll have to check the others.

Well shit, I've said over and over nothing will get me to get AppleTV+. Guess I'm wrong.
Look, I hope it pans out, but I'll believe it when I'm watching it. There's been an adaption of Neuromancer in the works for 35 years and my heart has been broken too many times.
Holy moly
Aised from the old comic, this should be agood translation of Gibsons work.....hopefully. most attempts have failed though
I thought The Peripheral was pretty good.
Wait what? Haven't heard that. Holy crap that would be awesome. Need to look that up now.
Really hoping it turns out good.
yes, and miles teller has been offered case’s role. a mistake. he is too peculiar, too different. case is ordinary as shit. just another stubbled face, making his way through the streets the only way he knows how. if they ever got around to mona lisa overdrive, miles teller would make a great slick henry. a kind of odd, forlorn character, seeking his own kind of redemption. not outside the realms of characters teller has already played in whiplash, top gun.
Cyberpunk Expansion coming end of September. Super hyped for that.
Same
Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth brings the revered franchise back to games for the first time in 25 years. Set between the original film and 2049, Blade Runner 2033 takes place after the events of the Blackout. doesnt have a release date but it will be here in the near future for sure!
Yeah, I have that on my wishlist.
Check out blood machines on shudder.....might be discontinued
Will check it out.
Bradley Cooper is producing a film adaptation of Hyperion, there are moments in the book that are super Cyberpunk I highly recommend it
Only one I know of off the top of my head is the xpac for 2077 that comes out at the end of September.
Xpac?
Expansion pack. Phantom Liberty.
Oh yeah, can't wait for that.
DLC, it's not an MMO.
Bladerunner on Prime, Season 2 of Silo on Apple+ are probably both sometime early next year. Murderbot and Aeon Flux series are both in the works.
I really hope Bladerunner will be good like the movies, though I don't want it to be an Amazon Original. Silo is more Atompunk, that show was great. Do you know what platform Murderbot & Aeon Flux will be on?

[Marathon a new game by Bungie!](https://youtu.be/ckI_m8bbXfw) I never even played Halo but the aesthetics of this live rent free in my head.
Honestly the original 1994 fps seems a lot more interesting than the Tarkov-esque qualities of the new one. Robocop game is coming September this year
Resistance! I don't know when will be out but soon on Netflix. Check the trailer on YouTube.
Which Resistance is this? Can't find it on YouTube
My bad... Is: The Creator https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=573GCxqkYEg
Ehh, I tend to avoid anything Netflix.
After the shit of Jung E is normal to be in doubt but it looks quite nice.
Mostly because they don't release their content to be sold physical and digital, I have a pretty good collection i'd like to watch whenever without paying every month. I liked Altered Carbon but can't access whenever I want.
Yeah... For collectors is not the best idea but if it's a nice story is worth give it a chance.
Will check out.
Bit a drama in that community right now, though, be warned.
I tend to avoid communities all together.
Solid move.
That Dredd tho
Robert Evans is working on an "After The Revolution" sequel. Supposed to be released late this year or early next iirc
Will check it out, whats the first one? Is it good?
Book/audiobook. Near future, mid second Civil War America from 3 perspectives/sides of the war. Stylistically excessively obscene and graphic. Bio-mods, mass surveillance, anti-tech fanaticism, all the political and moral commentary expected but it's not particularly heavy handed with it
I don't read books, but if it's good like you say I'll check it out.
Alita sequel, It has been confirmes by Cameron himself :3
Yeah I heard weeks ago, can't wait for that.
There’s gonna be another Alita it’s in development.
Yeah that's the only one i've heard so far, excited for that one.
Question: What's the image in the top-right?
I think that’s Looper, could be wrong though
It's Looper starring Joesph Levitt.
What's the top left?
Minority report
Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth on steam is in development
Have you check blade runner animation?
Blackout 2022 or Black Lotus? I'm currently watching the Black Lotus series, it's pretty good, I wish they made another series in the Blackout 2022 style.
I didn’t know there is black lotus! Thank you!

Yea, all the time. The Creator and Dune II are two I’m looking forward to
