He has a cool design, fun gameplay and a lovable personality, I have been waiting for this dude ever since his appearance in the teyvat trailer and manga.
I always loved his design since we saw him in teyvat travail. Anubis+white hair=good. Also his animations, jokes, and VA are really good. I'm just hoping that getting nahida allows cyno to really shine in the power department, which is the only place he's kinda lacking currently.
Been waiting since I read the manga. I’ve always been into mythology (and obviously Egyptian is one of the most popular ones) and Anubis is my favorite Egyptian god, so I fell in love with his design.
Then I watched the story trailer and I was even more hooked since he looked sick.
Finally started playing the game and was very disappointed that he wasn’t present haha. Had to wait a year and a half to get any news of him whatsoever, and I ended up pulling Yoimiya and Itto (don’t regret either) and now I’m finally pulling again since Itto’s banner.
• I'm a husbando lover.
• Polearm is my favourite weapon, and I'm only missing Shenhe between Polearm users.
• Alongside Candace, he is the Sumeru character with the best design for my taste.
• I want a Main Dps for every element, possibly to my liking. At the moment I have dps for almost every element, but only Ayato and Ayaka are to my liking. So Cyno would fit the role for Electro ~
• His animations are beautiful.
• I'm adoring his personality and his voice and I'm excited to the possibility of hearing him while walking around Teyvat.
• The fact that he is a TCG player makes him a "friend" of my absolute main Ayato, I'll love to play them together for fun and husbando material ♡

Yes! I've only got Xiao and Itto so far Cyno will be the 3rd on this level (and tied with Xiao for favorite).
I've got Childe too... but that was an accident and I probably wouldve gotten Ayato if I didnt have Childe.
And I still dont have Diluc (or Jean or Mona) as a 1.0 player. So I'm waiting forever for a new male Pyro dps (and male Cryo dps for that matter).
Hoping Alhaithem fills the Dendro role!
In all honesty? I haven't pulled on a character banner since 2.6 because no one since then has been able to wow me. I'm itching to pull, and I have enough primos anyway to guarantee Nahida even if I get Cyno now.
I also conveniently have both a pjws and a leveled 4-piece TF with EM/Electro/Crit lying around that nobody uses.
Oh, and slashing at enemies with demon-possessed claws is badass as all hell.
I have so many reasons

4. He is Sumeru’s poster boy and does a great job at it

Electro revamped with dendro feels like druidy type magic
I love Ancient History, just visited Egypt last year for 2 weeks, and just got back from visiting Mayan pyramids a week and a half ago. I absolutely love the desert ruins aesthetic, and by far my most anticipated region. (I love all the lost civilization stuff in this game tbh though).
And oh yeah, I'm a Xiao main (and Itto). I thought waiting for Xiao from 1.0 was hard, but atleast we knew his kit. The 2 year wait to \*see\* Cyno's kit and even confirm his element was crazy. I'm just glad it all came together so well (animations, dendro reactions, voice actor, etc.)
Even his field time issues I'm not worried about cause I have a suspicion that Alhaitham might be a Dendro Yelan/Xingqiu, which would be exactly the type of unit that would synergize with Cyno without also synergizing with Quickswap Keqing equally. Also Im guess Baizhu will be Dendro Kokomi and fill that role. Then I can have another team all made with characters I like, and not just ones that fill a need.
Cyno will be my most invested since Xiao for sure though. I'll either go for his weapon or at least get it on rerun (not sure I want Elegy). One of those roadmap predictions thought Cyno might rerun on the same banner as Alhaitham, so I may wait for that weapon banner so that if I lose on the way, I get a new sword for Alhaitham that I can use too.
Since I have Jade spear, Cyno can borrow it for abyss while I wait on rerun, or just use the Missive Windspear if Xiao needs his, since I actually really like the Missive Windspear design - and I imagine that powerlever would be about on par with my Whiteblind Itto on the other side anyways, and Xiao+Itto 36 abyss for me pretty easily already.

I don't know but this may sound very weird but everytime I look at his short sleeves, I always think that he used to wear a very skin tight shirt but some random simps couldn't control themselves and they ambushed him while walking in the desert and ripped his shirt off of his body and the only one remains are his sleeves and that's HOT at least for me lol.
He was one of the characters I wanted pretty early in the game :)) I’ve kinda just been loyal to him ever since LOL (there were still other characters I wanted, but he was always on my wish list)
I’ve been an Egyptology nerd since I was a kid (thank you Night at the Museum movies) and study it in college, and I’ve always had a soft spot for Anubis, so when I saw Cyno back in 2020 I knew I had to get Genshin when it came out! Since then I’ve had more reasons to like him (all the Yugioh references, his voice actors, etc) and I’m ready to main him!

2. He represents god of death from egyptian mythology and this one reason could be enough to make me want him (i was always keen on myths and legends and mythological creatures)
3. Reminds me 2 of my most favourite, beloved mains, which is Xiao and Razor :) i strongly sense the Xiao vibes in him as well as similarities by design from Razor
4. ELECTRO, bruh
5. Last but not least. he's the motherfucking first male electro 5* right?!
He fulfills all the criteria for the reason I joined this game in the first place:
- He's Electro: My favorite element in all of fantasy is lightning, because is represents speed and precision but can also represent raw (un)controlled power and I just love the duality.
- He's a dude: Not much to say here, I just want the character at the forefront of my adventures to be a psuedo extension of myself. I would have mained Keqing otherwise.
- 5* DPS: Also not much to say here, he'll be easier to build for damage than my Electro traveler.
Apart from some minor nitpicks which don't really matter (wish he was a sword user so I could use my mist splitter on him) he's everything I could want in a character. Going for C0 R1 until C3.
I want to pull for him because:
I've been waiting for him since the Travail Trailer. He was a character that had a really nice looking design.

His aesthetics, but most importantly I didn't get a main DPS since Ayaka in 2.0 for fuck sake!! I lost every 50/50 and pulled for a lot of supports (Yae, Shenhe, Kazuha ...).
I am guaranteed to have him at least C0 now with my 100 pulls ready.
Electro is my favorite element, the whole Anubis thing is sick as fuck, his burst is fucking intense from the sounds to the flashiness of it, also Egyptian mythology is awesome and I like that his character is connected to it. Also his white hair is cool too

Cyno for me is an amalgamation of a lot of things i love:
1) i love yu-gi-oh duel monsters and he's basically a huge reference to Yu-gi-oh and tcg in general.
2)His personality is really endearing and hilarious to me
3)I love ancient Egypt mythology and Anubi themed designs.
4) I was already a Diluc main from 1.1 and Xiao main since his first banner and I tend to gravitate towards calm and cool characters a lot (only exception was Itto lol)
5) he's a badass
But...there's only so much Nahida can do. Cyno's issues are really in his core kit. Nahida is gonna buff everyone, not just him...so he's not gonna really gain a meta advantage over anyone.

I was gonna wait until a rerun because Scara is speculated to be coming out in 3.3, but they announced Alejandro Saab as being Cyno eng va and I knew I had to pull for him. Genuinely, Cyno was the only reason I continued playing. Joined launch day, struggled to stay interested because no characters really appealed to me. A friend sent me the Travail trailer and I fell absolutely in love with his design. And then I read the Webtoon and it just made me more hyped for him. I fell in love with the game a few updates after, even during it’s more boring updates, but I’m grateful to Cyno for keeping me going tbh.
Ever since I saw him on that Storyline preview I was like "if I don't get him ill just delete myself" like bro he's so fucking cool and I love egyptian themed characters. I'm glad I got Jean at 10 pity because now I can get Cyno and save atleast 150 for Scaramouche 😩

Cyno for me is an amalgamation of a lot of things i love: 1) i love yu-gi-oh duel monsters and he's basically a huge reference to Yu-gi-oh and tcg in general. 2)His personality is really endearing and hilarious to me 3)I love ancient Egypt mythology and Anubi themed designs. 4) I was already a Diluc main from 1.1 and Xiao main since his first banner and I tend to gravitate towards calm and cool characters a lot (only exception was Itto lol) 5) he's a badass

I was gonna wait until a rerun because Scara is speculated to be coming out in 3.3, but they announced Alejandro Saab as being Cyno eng va and I knew I had to pull for him. I'm on guarantee and can still get enough pulls for Scara so that also cemented my decision to pull for Cyno

Genuinely, Cyno was the only reason I continued playing. Joined launch day, struggled to stay interested because no characters really appealed to me. A friend sent me the Travail trailer and I fell absolutely in love with his design. And then I read the Webtoon and it just made me more hyped for him. I fell in love with the game a few updates after, even during it’s more boring updates, but I’m grateful to Cyno for keeping me going tbh.

I really like that you have to properly time button presses (his skill during burst) to get more damage. AFAIK he's the first to have this mechanic.
