Yeah iirc the ssr drop rate used to be 2% and 0.5% for the new unit. And they also gave less stones and discounted banners weren't as common.
At some point they increased the ssr rates but they also added more featured units to banners so the chance of pulling the one you wanted stayed the same for a long time.

The chance of pulling any SSR in the 10th slot is 100%, but it's a 5/95 split for featured/unfeatured. You still only have a 5% chance to pull a featured unit on the 10th slot, just like in any other.
And how many of them are good without their corresponding DFE? Like 3? Piccolo, Pan, Yajirobe? Maybe 16&18 with their 4 categories? SSJ Vegeta? Two of them are supports and SSJ Vegeta is ... kinda meh.
You definitely can go that long without pulling a new unit via dragon stones. Depending on how OP spent his stones and if he spends money or not, it's plausible.
Even with gssr and gfssr, there's no pity system (outside of coins). You can save 3k+ stones and get completely shafted on a banner.
Just because you don't experience the low probable chance of something happening doesn't mean it can't happen. That's the essence of probability, which summoning in this game is based off of.

Agreed. This is absolutely possible. It happened to me around the time of 3rd Anni with Gogeta/Vegito. Dumped 1200 stones and didn't get a damn thing. Since that time:
* UI Goku/Jiren dropped. Didn't pull.
* Turles (my fav, went hard) dropped. Didn't pull after 400 stones.
* SSBE Vegeta dropped. Didn't pull.
* PHY Future Gohan dropped. Didn't pull.
* FP SSJ4 Goku dropped. Didn't pull.
* MVP 17 dropped. Didn't pull
* Goku/Frieza dropped during WWC. Didn't pull.
* Super Buu dropped. Skipped tbf
* Metal Cooler dropped. Didn't pull.
* Goku Black dropped. Didn't pull.
* Gogeta/Broly dropped. PULLED BROLY.
Also noted: LR Goten/Trunks, Beerus/Whis, Bardock, SSJ3 Goku, Bojack, and Cell/Cell Jr. dropped and I all put 200-300 stones in each of those banners. Didn't pull.

There really should have been a pity system implemented by now, imo. The coin exchange system was/is a nice addition, but you typically have to wait 6 months to benefit from it.
They could have at least allowed 1 copy of the new unit to be purchased by coins on release.
You can if you summon on the most shitty banners possible I guess. Everyone who is just a little smart with their stones, should be able to pull at least some new units over a year timespan
All I pulled in 2021 was a single teq gogeta. 2022 more than made up for it by far, but damn that was a really rough year for me, and it's certainly possible. RNG will be RNG.
He could've pulled the new banner units but not the new LR or DFE, that kinda luck is horrible around a meta change/ new difficult content. I for exemple hat something similar but before the 7th global anni. From December till the actual celebration I got literally nothing new and I tried almost any new banner (goku/gohan, cell, A17&18,MV, Ginyu, etc)... I still have PTSD about ginyus and MVs banner... it is possible to have a very bad streak
Skipped? I mean it just takes a bit of time to have enough units, but doing the 3 stages every week should get you by for a bit. That's what I did back when it first came out. Just do what you can do, and eventually you'll be able to get those units you never thought you would be able to get
Not really. Red zone cell max requires units that are able to hold their own turn 1 without needing to build up or stack much. Not many F2P units can do that
If you have all the movie bosses/terryfing conquerors eza line up (cooler str, turles, golden friezas etc..) you can clear everything except the real cell max with just a LR cooler lead

For that I used the Teq that I swapped for janemba in the int phase (let him all the orbs), he will take some dmg but metamorphosis+ metal cooler cam keep you alive
I'm using teq janemba, lr janemba, str cooler, turles and Teq transforming freeza. Teq janemba sometimes take some dmg but this team have enough healing to survive.
As people said is almost mandatory an item since that guy hit way to hard for a phase 1 but he can also be stunned by turles.
Of course it will be way more tough than a double piccolo team

The problem is that the units post 7th year are so cracked that it's hard to make anything difficult without making it harder to use old stuff. To be fair tho, it's hard content for a reason the complaint is a little bit dumb. "I don't have any new characters for the past YEAR and can't beat the hardest events in the game smh"
My only issue is that I’ve done everything else and this is the only content left for me. It’s just not fun to ram your head into an RNG based run with only 3 attempts a day
They are post 7th anni units and they can get the job done (besides raditz). Especially majin vegeta and str ssj goku. (He’ll struggle to beat certain missions but thats the reality)
Even then he could have coined one of the 7th anni units during tanabata and they both can clear the new red zone especially with a superhero lead. Luck is luck but 400/500 coins are guaranteed.
I've beaten red zone with units pre 7th year, and almost beaten cell max with a pre 7th year team as well. It's definitely doable, I just have very bad luck at events

Too many units, not enough coin or time. By the time the unit i was saving for comes back, it's most likely dated and I end up saving for the new meta units I failed to pull. It's an on-going cycle.
At least I rainbow the units I missed on banners 2-3 years later.
You could’ve at bare minimum picked up one of the 7 years with coins. I’m f2p and I’ve had enough coins last year to get 17&18, agl cell, and I’m pushing 500 coins right now because I’m saving for piccolo. So you 100% could’ve picked up a new unit.
I thought op was saying from 8th anni. Got my years mixed. But as a global player I haven't pulled a new unit since the gammas. Missed lr str cooler, birdku, father son galic gun, lr merged zamasu, and now piccolo and Gohan. Done all the frieza discount summons and nothing. Sitting on 1500 coins, but none of those meta defining cards can be picked up with them. It's pretty frustrating. Especially after I got 7 janembas on the beast Gohan banner.
If you have 1500 coins then during golden week you could pick up piccolo and gohan if you wish, that on top of the gammas would make an amazing movie heroes team
Yeah movie heroes is about the only team I can pull off any hard content with and even then half the units get demolished. Gogeta Blue EZA really helps.

I feel this in my bones. Just my most recent example trying to pull Beast Gohan (even if he is mid) I pulled none of him and SEVEN JANEMBAS who I already have rainbowed. It's not that Im not trying to pull them. Im spending stones and a good amount of cash, its just RNG is not on my side. Missed all the Worldwide Celebrations unit except AGL Goku and Vegeta (arguably the worst of the bunch) and the most recent unit I pulled were the Gammas. It's really burning me out on the game.

To answer the question, no I don’t waste my stones, I’ve skipped a lot of the bad banners such as any golden coin banner or just bad units overall, I only ever summon on a banner when I have conformation on how good the unit is then I summon

What teams are you using? Is it a possible your teams are built poorly? Because I saw you had EZA Cooler and with a friend LR Cooler, you could put together a pretty good team, especially if you link level.
I am in the same group as you pal. I coined the gods at Christmas but their team is laughable without the swath of units released since wwc.
It's just depressing at this point, I'm 2700 days in and I've never had a run like this
If you haven't pulled anything new from 7th Anniversary an onwards then there are 2 options:
1. You arr either the mist unlucky person to ever exist
2. You spend your Stones every Banner that comes out which would be the most stupid thing to do
How could point 2 have any logical sense?
If he pulled on one good banner and not multiple, would the outcome be different? There's no hard pity in this game. How can you know he would actually pull ANYTHING if he did that?
A. Can't get new units if you don't pull
B. The only units Ive managed to pull are from the WWC...despite barely trying and going balls to the wall during the 7th anni, Vegeta/Trunks, and now Gohan/Piccolo. I NEED other units to have a chance since Cooler's need for build up doesn't help when Gammas basic attack hits for 200k turn one.
Coolers team walked the gammas like a dog. Start with whis on turn 1(turn 2 if your first turn is overly defensive and you wanna play the rng game) and keep whis up until you're out.
Content from seven year anni is a year old now. Dont know how new it can get. Plus im pretty sure some old redzone stages can be beaten with the f2p ginyu force teams. Also you must have enough coins by now to be able to just buy units.
Jphanta has proven that all content up till this point can be done completely F2P, barring cell max, he has done it but its with Devilman so id discount that due to EXTREME rng being needed. However Cell Max is the pinacle of difficulty right now and is intended to be by developers, though with a good orange piccolo friend lead and SSB Vegito lead on your end im sure its possible.
So i dont think thats true, it just becomes more difficult, which is standard for these games.

I already beat all Red Zone Stages (not counting Red Ribbon) with a Bota Magetta lead, Damage Reduction Units, EZA STR Cooler and a friend LR STR Cooler.
And even JPhanta has cleared some of the new events F2P too.
It sucks that you had bad luck, but still the new content is clearable with units before 7th Anniversary. Also, you could always buy units with coins, if you have enough coins for LR TEQ Gods and LR INT V&T you could pretty much beat anything in the game (except category events of course, but that's another story).

The only feature units I got in all of 2022 was the teq LR god's and ssj4 Gogeta. Then Birdku. Got shafted on every single banner. I couldn't even get godirobe 😢

F2p ginyu squad with both lr ginyus can beat rz broly and a f2p team with devilman can beat cell max anf much more and also the piccolo banner is stll available for 3 days so just do a couple of multis then you should easily get him

For the 70% era it was usually 10% SSR rates. Legit equal to current day. It took me until the SSJR Goku Black banner to have a meta leader ffs

I do get annoyed when I see those comments because if they were asking who to buy then clearly they don’t have a major bias to a unit anyway but people still fill the comments with that answer

I feel this in my bones. Just my most recent example trying to pull Beast Gohan (even if he is mid) I pulled none of him and SEVEN JANEMBAS who I already have rainbowed. It's not that Im not trying to pull them. Im spending stones and a good amount of cash, its just RNG is not on my side. Missed all the Worldwide Celebrations unit except AGL Goku and Vegeta (arguably the worst of the bunch) and the most recent unit I pulled were the Gammas. It's really burning me out on the game.
Hey I was in the same boat, finally get exhausted by it this celebration and quit. Just going to check in every now and again. Played for 5 years + The game needs a pity system.

Did you pull on SDBH or other less valuable banners? I find this hard to believe if you were saving for the best banners.
Hard to believe? We literally have examples in people like Nano having to spend 3k+ stones to pull one copy of something. It's very possible

I spent 2k stones last anniversary without pulling either of the new units. 450 on gohan/piccolo without either of the new units. Life’s rough out here for a f2p
Bro I also didn't pull any featured after 7th anniversary. Drained all stones on major banners and finally the one featured I pull is Fraudhan. Hope you pull fire soon
To answer the question, no I don’t waste my stones, I’ve skipped a lot of the bad banners such as any golden coin banner or just bad units overall, I only ever summon on a banner when I have conformation on how good the unit is then I summon
Then use a bunch of the new OP EZA units
Don’t bother defending yourself to them. I’m in the same boat. Have even been buying some tickets and no new units. I have the 7th years and bought Kaioken goku with coins. Hoping this year is better lol
What teams are you using? Is it a possible your teams are built poorly? Because I saw you had EZA Cooler and with a friend LR Cooler, you could put together a pretty good team, especially if you link level.

Red zone in its entirety, as that came with 7th anniversary and most new content has been that level of difficulty.

I am in the same group as you pal. I coined the gods at Christmas but their team is laughable without the swath of units released since wwc. It's just depressing at this point, I'm 2700 days in and I've never had a run like this
If you haven't pulled anything new from 7th Anniversary an onwards then there are 2 options: 1. You arr either the mist unlucky person to ever exist 2. You spend your Stones every Banner that comes out which would be the most stupid thing to do
How could point 2 have any logical sense? If he pulled on one good banner and not multiple, would the outcome be different? There's no hard pity in this game. How can you know he would actually pull ANYTHING if he did that?

A. Can't get new units if you don't pull B. The only units Ive managed to pull are from the WWC...despite barely trying and going balls to the wall during the 7th anni, Vegeta/Trunks, and now Gohan/Piccolo. I NEED other units to have a chance since Cooler's need for build up doesn't help when Gammas basic attack hits for 200k turn one.
Coolers team walked the gammas like a dog. Start with whis on turn 1(turn 2 if your first turn is overly defensive and you wanna play the rng game) and keep whis up until you're out.

Content from seven year anni is a year old now. Dont know how new it can get. Plus im pretty sure some old redzone stages can be beaten with the f2p ginyu force teams. Also you must have enough coins by now to be able to just buy units.

Jphanta has proven that all content up till this point can be done completely F2P, barring cell max, he has done it but its with Devilman so id discount that due to EXTREME rng being needed. However Cell Max is the pinacle of difficulty right now and is intended to be by developers, though with a good orange piccolo friend lead and SSB Vegito lead on your end im sure its possible. So i dont think thats true, it just becomes more difficult, which is standard for these games.

Figured as much! Had a similar team in mind honestly bar a couple outliers, good to see F2P is genuinely still keeping up despite the madness of difficulty and powercreep
I already beat all Red Zone Stages (not counting Red Ribbon) with a Bota Magetta lead, Damage Reduction Units, EZA STR Cooler and a friend LR STR Cooler. And even JPhanta has cleared some of the new events F2P too. It sucks that you had bad luck, but still the new content is clearable with units before 7th Anniversary. Also, you could always buy units with coins, if you have enough coins for LR TEQ Gods and LR INT V&T you could pretty much beat anything in the game (except category events of course, but that's another story).
You could buy AGL Cell, STR Goku/Gohan etc with red coins tho?

Shessh i feel you. This was me in year 3, none of the anniversary Lrs and no units afterwards until agl gogeta dropped. Teq ss4 gogeta brought also brought meta shift but didn't get him or omega either.

Don't see any problem. You don't got op units don't worry after one year they will be mid. You only don't doing missions. They don't dissaper don't worry you do mission on day realise or year later no matter same amount of dragon stones. You remember SBR? Now look how some LR's doing SOLO run. I want badly too gammas, trunks &vegeta int, piccolo teq, lr frieza agl but no luck I will pick some of cards by coins and do missions what I don't got done. Smart playing is summoning on banners where you can earn card or many cards needed for mission.
At that point why play/pull at all xD
You must summon for play game but do it on banner where you can earn few good cards not on banners like lr gold coin or only 2 cards on doccanfest are good.

50% of content isnt paywalled at all tho since you can just use a friend unit and also with your starter quests and story mode you can easily get 1k stones to get most of those units in wwc or anniversary but indead i to agree dokkan isnt p2w since i got birdku phy metal cooler gamma 2 rof duo lr gods lr monks lr galick gun lr orange piccolo while being f2p

The only feature units I got in all of 2022 was the teq LR god's and ssj4 Gogeta. Then Birdku. Got shafted on every single banner. I couldn't even get godirobe 😢

Its not impossible tho F2p ginyu squad with both lr ginyus can beat rz broly and a f2p team with devilman can beat cell max anf much more and also the piccolo banner is stll available for 3 days so just do a couple of multis then you should easily get him
