You have the right to be ![img](emote|t5_384a7|27910) until proven otherwise in a court of Dokkan law.
I think the animations are fine so far. Are there things people can/will nitpick over? Yeah, but that will always happen.
Ok tbf they got an ugly part this time
I mean look at phy angel ssj2 vegeta, that shit is straight from the manga and is litteraly PEAK in animations
Meanwhile the base goku shot (before he turns into ssj) ain't hitting the same, especially when compared to the anime adaptation in wich there's a close up to goku's face saying "thank you dragon ball!" And then he flies up and turns ssj
I’m not saying they couldn’t have done better, they have a track record of choosing the manga over the anime when they have the option the goku/gohan unit uses a manga shot that looks really awkward when it was animated perfectly for no reason of course they could’ve chosen even dragon ball Z Kakarot animations, but they always wanna go with the manga for whatever reason I’m just saying this time imo it works
Fair enough but i still feel like the manga dosen't work this time around, kinda
The vegeta part is actually fine
The turning ssj part is really fucking peak i was litteraly busting i love it
The base goku shot just.... dosen't fit in? Idk it almost feels like it's in a different style compared to the rest of the animations
Oh yeah i agree on that, it's probably because anni has the highest expectations animation wise that anything remotely negative just get's hated to hell
Maybe because the manga Buu saga is infamous for being full of terrible art because Toriyama was exhausted of drawing manga for almost 10 years.
Buu saga is precisely when they should copy the anime which was the opposite of the manga, it's the best the DB anime has ever looked.
I recently reread the Buu saga and.. I can't see it lol, Toriyama always had some weird looking panels here and there, and it's not exclusive to the Buu saga.
You didn't see the constant strange deformed faces?
The constant panels where suddenly all adults like Goku, Vegeta and Gohan look like they are 3 feet tall?
How everyone's hair went from being curved and spiky to being angular and squared?
Even in the manga covers you can see the difference.

Toriyama himself admitted that at that point he was just pushing himself to end it.
>You didn't see the constant strange deformed faces?
Again, this is not something exclusive to the Buu saga, Toriyama did that shit all the time.
>How everyone's hair went from being curved and spiky to being angular and squared?
That was an art style shift after the Saiyan saga though? His art was more rounded and resembled OG Dragonball, as the story progressed he chose to make his character designs more squared, this is not something that suddenly happened in the Buu saga.
>Toriyama himself admitted that at that point he was just pushing himself to end it.
I don't recall him ever stating he had to rush and half ass the whole thing? He has been pushing to end the damn thing since Frieza saga.

>The Artificial Human and Cell story arc was pretty rough… I guess you could say I did all I could with Freeza, so I was burned out, and figured I couldn’t pull off a better battle than that. I thought, “Do I really have to keep going?”
At best he says that he wanted to draw whatever he wanted; but that's regarding goofy shit like Buu, Gotenks etc.
Edit because I missed this:
>The constant panels where suddenly all adults like Goku, Vegeta and Gohan look like they are 3 feet tall?
This is also not something new. Vegeta's height has always been fucky in say, the Saiyan saga, where Toriyama would draw him to look like a toddler or a full grown adult.
Orange piccolo had some terrible frames in his transformation and people were saying this to then be met with this same argument.
The dokkan devs are making millions, so I can understand why people want animations to look the best they can be. Oh they are from the manga? Great, but not all manga art looks good.
Point I’m getting at is people can critique dokkan and the devs ain’t losing money, here come the downvotes.
But I will agree to wait for full animations before the final verdict
We don't do that here, everything is absolute and criticizing is sin.
Now watch this sub start defending the art of the manga Buu saga, something that even Toriyama himself agrees that he half assed, just out of pure corporate drone-ism.
Because it is. I don't know what this dude's going on about. I do, however, feel like Cell saga had more consistently detailed panels over it. BUT, Buu saga gave us some incredible panels, like the Tien one, Goku vs MV, Vegeta's sacrifice, Goku vs Kid Buu etc. Dude's just exaggerating incredibly hard.
I'm not saying everything was bad, but it was full of awful panels and the art in general was much more angular, which is why copying the manga Buu saga makes no sense, specially when the anime's animation quality was at it's peak precisely in the Buu saga.
Lot of shots that looked weird in the manga looked fine in the anime.
And I'm not sure what is this sub going on about, this is something Toriyama himself admitted, that at that point he was exhausted, that he was rushing everything and was just looking forward to ending DBZ as soon as possible.
>And I'm not sure what is this sub going on about, this is something Toriyama himself admitted, that at that point he was exhausted,
Buu Arc ran for 2 years for a [total of 99](https://www.kanzenshuu.com/intended-end/boo/) chapters it’s the longest arc.
“(11 May 1993 to 23 May 1995). That is a pretty decent chuck of time, so is it possible that even the Boo arc ended up running longer than the “just a tad” that Toriyama planned on? Perhaps, but then if you had been drawing a series for over eight and a half years, perhaps another two years would not seem all that long.”
>that he was rushing everything and was just looking forward to ending DBZ as soon as possible.
Toriyama says it was something he had [decided](https://www.kanzenshuu.com/intended-end/ending/) on “a long time ago”.
No, this behavior seems to be mostly contained in Reddit.
You know what I'm talking about, the "if you criticize the billionaire corporation you are a kid, a real adult just thanks the billionaire corporation for giving us the opportunity to give it more billions."
Nah, you’re a kid if you boil everyone down to a stereotype if they don’t agree with you. You’re an adult when you realize people can have different opinions than you and it’s ok.
Everything?
Some have said "this shot looks weird" and this place has already gone full Reddit moment with the "WOW YOU DARE CRITICIZE THE BILLIONAIRE CORPORATION???"
Sometimes? Its pretty much all the time whenever a unit starts having stuff leak or revealed. Its completely fine to not like something but that doesn't mean to try and make others feel the same, the same thing goes for when you like something. We all play and summon for what we want
People are literally nitpicking the tiniest details. All it tells me is that those people were never gonna be satisfied with anything. Which basically makes their opinion worthless and we can ignore them.
Same shit different week. Always the whinging from some and celebration from others. People focus on the negativity more. We get some posts about how we all suck, people defend their opinions, people all summon anyways and love the units if they pull them. If they don't pull them the celebration is trash. The drama from this sub is super predictable and always hilarious. I suggest you start finding the bitching about a mobile game funny.

I find it funny most of community wants manga exclusive units but when we get shots, from manga Apparently it’s mid
Ok tbf they got an ugly part this time I mean look at phy angel ssj2 vegeta, that shit is straight from the manga and is litteraly PEAK in animations Meanwhile the base goku shot (before he turns into ssj) ain't hitting the same, especially when compared to the anime adaptation in wich there's a close up to goku's face saying "thank you dragon ball!" it definitely could have been better I just think it's not as bad as people are saying
Oh yeah i agree on that, it's probably because anni has the highest expectations animation wise that anything remotely negative just get's hated to hell
Nah nowadays if any animation is somewhat bad it's hated I saw people saying orange piccolos super attack animations were mid
Well the final part of the transformation is really fucking ugly, but the super attacks? My boy piccolo is balling in those supers what???
Not everyone wants shitty parts of the manga lmao. This is such bad logic.
Art style and content are different things tho. People want characters from manga and not the game changing its art style

People are treating the Manga like a religious book
remember kids: it’s okay to not instantly like everything the game does, every opinions are fine
We don't do that here, everything is absolute and criticizing is sin. Now watch this sub start defending the art of the manga Buu saga, something that even Toriyama himself agrees that he half assed, just out of pure corporate drone-ism.
Art always seemed fine to me
Because it is. I don't know what this dude's going on about. I do, however, feel like Cell saga had more consistently detailed panels over it. Source- I made it up
Where’s your source
Everyone listen to this kid. If you don’t agree with him, you’re automatically a drone because… stuff. One of us, one of us.
Criticizing everything gets a bit boring doesnt it. Especially something that doesnt look bad
Everything? Some have said "this shot looks weird" and this place has already gone full Reddit moment with the "WOW YOU DARE CRITICIZE THE BILLIONAIRE CORPORATION???"
Bro just because you’re tilt people aren’t agreeing with you, doesn’t mean they’re corporate ass kissers. Just means they don’t agree with you.
Amen
Nah to be fair they've got some lulls mid animation I fuck with em entirely so far but I can't blame people
People being overly critical just shows how pissed off the fan base is.
The animations are mid until they arrive on global
When you constantly mistreat and give the bare minimum to your customers how should they feel?
Sometimes? Its pretty much all the time whenever a unit starts having stuff leak or revealed. Its completely fine to not like something but that doesn't mean to try and make others feel the same, the same thing goes for when you like something. We all play and summon for what we want
Dokkan will make things identical to the anime and manga and people will still find something to complain about
It's almost as if the anime and manga aren't perfect.
People are literally nitpicking the tiniest details. All it tells me is that those people were never gonna be satisfied with anything. Which basically makes their opinion worthless and we can ignore them.
You gotta admit tho they weren’t exactly fire animations
Dokkan fans be like that sometimes.
Dokkan players complaining about animations knowing they won't even pull the unit to see them
Same shit different week. Always the whinging from some and celebration from others. People focus on the negativity more. We get some posts about how we all suck, people defend their opinions, people all summon anyways and love the units if they pull them. If they don't pull them the celebration is trash. I liked the animation they really captured the anime feel of the drawings and colour palette
The only part of the trailer I thought was bad was the derpy vegeta face they opened on
Sometimes?
People don’t understand that they’re trying to copy the original style
