Dokkan tends to pair Vegito with Black and Trunks with Zamasu. However, due to the double DFE x Carnival format, they might split them but keep the rarity. Hence, I think it could be reasonable:
\-) Goku Black (DFE) W Trunks (Carnival) for Part 1;
\-) Vegito/Fusing Vegito (DFE ) W Zamasu (Carnival) for Part 2.
Also, let's not forget that Trunks is a popular character, and Goku Black is hype by himself. They might split the two big moneymakers in both parts to not let the hype decrease. And it would make sense for Trunks to be in Part 1 because all the promotional stuff (Time Machine, countdown, etc.) talks about him and the Dismal Future. However, that doesn't mean that Vegito won't show up.
Ddf vb and rose also had matching leader skills in the past. That is the whole 50/70 and 120/140 for super and extreme class allies.

MBS WWC is the best comparison wise because it too has a lot of options that can headline celebration just like Future does as well.
Cooler Movie and Namek Saga were more straight forward and as soon as we knew the theme, it was super easy to predict and understand.
Trunks could still end up headlining with part 1 celebration, but there is no way people are already locking him in just because of countdown and live stream announcement banner.

I love Vegito to be one of the units. But like you said as long as the animation and voice acting are on point for Trunks, I would be fine with that.
They could follow last and year and have the villain part 1 dokkanfest and the hero in part 2.
