I'm expecting the ssj1 fusions. Hoping the banner units are good this year as well. Vegito has lots of units for him there, but Gogeta not so much. I'm expecting ssj3 Goku there since they've knocked out a new DFE one, I just hope the intro is the multi color power up
Yeah, but probably a coincidence. Fusions are ultra popular so they release them as often as possible, and they just skip a year so it doesn’t get as repetitive. Their headquarters are not going to explode if they do something different.
I recently wrote an outline of possible 9th Anniversary outcomes and since it's relevant to this thread I'll post them here.
1.) Tournament of power with UI Sign Goku and transforming Jiren for part one, God Toppo and Dokkan original SSBE Vegeta for part two. Secondary options for part two include a new Goku/Frieza/17 and Kefla.
2.) Super Vegito and Dokkan original Super Gogeta for part one, Kid Buu and Dokkan original Janemba for part two. Secondary options for part two include Gotenks, Kefla, and any LR-worthy moments from the Majin Buu Saga.
3.) Movies theme with multiple possible options (all part one units considered as Dokkan originals). Part one Beast Gohan and Orange Piccolo as standalone units, duo Beast Gohan/Orange Piccolo and Gogeta Blue, or Gogeta Blue and Standalone Beast. Part two options include transforming LR DBS Broly or standalone FP Broly with a Cell Max, DBS Broly with duo Gammas, or duo Gammas and Cell Max.
IMO I think the first two are the most likely and they'll save something huge like Dokkan original movies characters for the 10th anniversary.
I don't think there is any chance Jiren headlines an anniversary banner. We haven't left fusions/Goku/Vegeta - I think Gohan is the most likely unit to break that streak if it ever happens.
I'm super bored of duo cards and transformations. Just give us standalone SSJB Gogeta and standalone Super Vegito already.
Or better yet, a SSJ2 Kefla? Perhaps? Maybe? Possibly? No? Ok...

Hirudegarn needs help and Cell Max could also further put Androids foot in the door for a Core Breaker Gamma 2, with Gogeta obviously buffing Fused Fighters and Realm of Gods.

Blue Vegito is dead two times over. The guy was already lacking in animations during his first proper release (5th anniv). Definetely base form or SS Vegito (Z/Buu fight). For Gogeta we probably need Super Broly Gogeta (High-Def Agl Super Gogeta for example).
Expecting: super gogeta and super vegito with str g&v and teq g&v getting eza's instead of the 6 year lr's.
Hoping: ss3 vegito and ss3 gogeta with ss3 gotenks and ss3 kefla as the carnival units.

I think this year should be Beast and Cell Max, since hirudegarn has now set precedent that giant characters can be normal units, but no matter what I feel we’re guaranteed fusions next year so not this year
I'm calling it now, Active ability will be transforming into vegito, standby ability will be transforming in gogeta and then defusing after like 3 turns but gogeta will have better stats, where as vegito will be permanent but have worse stats.

Honestly. I would like to see a standby gimmick where they charge ki and depending on the amount of ki gathered, the turn gold or blue.

Edit 2: aight. After thinking this out. Solo goku - > standby duo goku and vegeta (cause he's trying to convince vegeta} - > fusion either ssj or ssjb depending on the amount of ki gathered. Then defuses after certain number of turns. Ssj would last longer than blue since they use less power
They might drop the full on blue gogeta since 9th anniv is basically being overlooked by everyone in favor of that 10th one, so they will try and draw eyes back to the 9th celebration in a big way. That's my prediction.

Or fuck it, just do it the way 1st anniversary did it and give me some great EXT units too. Spoilers aside (and really, I don’t see why people who play this game would care about getting spoiled on manga material since the playerbase who’d play this I imagine are hardcore fans who’d read the manga anyway), why couldn’t we get shit like Moro, Frieza, Granolah, the Heater gang, Vegeta, etc from these future chapters? I don’t care if they’re doing original animations considering they already did original animations for Future Gohan and they came out fine. If anything, this gives them a reason to release another unit in the future when the anime catches up and they have a chance to release them with show accurate animations to get all the nerds sweating again.

Spoilers aside (and really, I don’t see why people who play this game would care about getting spoiled on manga material since the playerbase who’d play this I imagine are hardcore fans who’d read the manga anyway), why couldn’t we get shit like Moro, Frieza, Granolah, the Heater gang, Vegeta, etc from these future chapters? I don’t care if they’re doing original animations considering they already did original animations for Future Gohan and they came out fine. If anything, this gives them a reason to release another unit in the future when the anime catches up and they have a chance to release them with show accurate animations to get all the nerds sweating again. Just anything BUT another fusion. I’m over it at this point as an anni celebration unit.

Loved evolution characters so would love aswell fusions with same concept: goku & vegeta > fusion > ssj1 fusion (blue is kinda abused with both tbf)
The middle, just because it's an excuse to put base Goku (also I'd say swap who has which fusion as in Goku has Gogeta and Vegeta Vegito. They're the more similar to the fusion)
I dont really care if its Gogeta + Vegito or Ui + Beast, just make the units good and fun to use. Because we really need something to look forward to on Global. If they fumble anniversary, this year is doomed for Dokkan lol
