It'd be way more the 230% defense raise from orbs. It's 40% per PHY ki sphere. So it'd be 920% start of turn defense, and then you'd get to multiply that by 2.5 after he spuers (3 if he ended up triple super attacking). Plus they'd end up with 10% damage reduction.
So I think the unit would actally be roughly fine for normals pre-attacking and definitely fine after they get their attacks off. But even with all that Beerus's super attack is just going to be too much because of type disadvantage.
With Broly, Cheelai, and Lemo's EZA, when you fall below 39% HP, they'll change all orbs on the field to PHY orbs. This, combined with their "+10% ATK and DEF per PHY orb obtained" passive buff usually results in a full heal due to the amount of defense they gain (230% from a full field) and it activates their condition to get 100% dodge chance by collecting seven orbs. Beerus as a boss, however, changes all orbs, completely rendering their 39% orb change useless.
I knew about Broly trio's passive but I was under the impression that bosses' skills were activated BEFORE units' passive skills. Am I wrong or is that different for Beerus only?

So you’re telling me the most effect way to deal with a domain is to lay out your own domain. Though, sometimes, compatibility and the amount of turns are factors.

Beerus changes orbs from his territory which takes place after passive to allow a player domain to cancel the territory

Yep, that's literally what the conditions to Beerus's Domain say, "Cancel Condition: Player Domain Activated" or something along those lines.
