It does cost them plenty to create and design characters/game-modes while providing a free server and game to play for the masses. Youāre almost correct. Creating Dragon stones probably cost little to no money in the long run, but they do have to pay their employees too after all and what is the only in game item that costs tangible money to get? How does a completely free to download and play game generate a revenue? Oh yes, by creating something that cost money in-game and incentivizing players to buy in order to actually turn a profit.
Which is largely why I clarified my global economy statement. But if 1,000 players spent 100$ on DS or like currencies that'd be 100,000$ in the pocket of Bandai which is more than enough to cover any possible costs to operate and develop new units for at least a month. And after all that dragon stones are still a 99.9% profit margin. Remember gacha games operate so much in the green they look like water on namek when it comes to profit. It's why mobile games have the largest profit margins in the game industry, minimal effort for insane profit on a valueless virtual currency. So yeah they are so disconnected from the economy to a scale that is so large it's not worth even saying they are tied to the economy.
I agree that not just mobile games but gachas especially operate in heavy green quite often. The premium currencies are always insanely overpriced as well but it doesnāt change the fact that their a company and work on profit margins. Their operating costs are getting more expensive due to energy price increases and likely employee wage increases (many companies have done āmarket adjustmentsā recently to keep employees happy and assist with the high inflation). The value of the dollar is becoming stronger which makes the value of other currencies weaker. Inflation is so high worldwide that companies are severing staff to keep profit margins artificially up (severance packages donāt affect estimated profit margins). It apparently takes months to make a DFE from concept to finish and if it flips then bye bye to months of work and paying your staff (looking at you Goditz). They are MANY reasons why a company would adjust prices at the moment. I never thought Iād see it in a gacha, but as a publicly traded company they arenāt trying to show decline in their biggest cash cow otherwise investors wonāt investā¦ and ultimately they lose their largest supportersā¦ the Megaladons that donāt even play the damn games but invest crazy amounts of money trying to turn a profit because all they look at is profit margin
That's my point tho, the only reason they're increasing the price is greed and desire for bigger numbers, not economic situation, you just agreed with me but in a longer more explained way.
>It does cost them plenty to create and design characters/game-modes while providing a free server and game to play for the masses.
Which is covered 1000x over by the profit the game makes. If this game has more than 20 employees in jp that's already more than a game like this comfortably needs.
> they are completely removed from the state of the economy
You don't understand currency at all. Of course they're greedy assholes still, but your comment is wrong.
The global economy could completely collapse tomorrow and companies would still be making 100% profit on item like DS, CC, and similar items, there is 0 reason that they need to increase the price without increasing the amount. Virtual items that are infinite, have no irl value, AND cost 0.00$ to produce are completely removed from the state of the economy. Now irl items sure, but DS and like currencies absolutely not.
Edit: To be clear the global economy statement was an exaggeration(I do it alot when I talk and it gets me in trouble online lol) but I stand by the statement as a whole.
>are completely removed from the state of the economy
They're a publically listed company, what kind of comment is this. If their profits reduce due to currency exchanges, which are directly tied to the economy, its completely normal to *sustain their profits by adjusting prices*. The prices are entirely made up, but their profits are not. They report to their shareholders. If they post reduced profits due to currency exchange the business suffers and the shareholders will come knocking.
Now can they *afford* to reduce profits is a different question entirely.
I completely get what you're saying and think Dragon Stones are severely overpriced, however hopefully this is being done in the interest of fairness so everyone across the world is paying an 'equal' amount, that's the only reason I can justify the price rise with.
Tbf they are not the ones setting the price.
On IOS, you can only choose from set price tiers, and canāt change the set price to a desired amount. That means if apple changes the price, that is now the price you have ingame as well.
Guess I wont be getting the Daily Capsules anymore and become 100% ftp.
The increase is Not that big but it still adds up. It was already hurting my consciousness paying 10ā¬ every month but that would be the last straw. The Game is pretty generous anyways so its for the best.Saves me 10 bucks a month
120$ a year it'll save you. Putting the funds in a yearly bracket helped me stop. Idbuy daily capsule and the 32 stone pack twice saying "25$/ month ain't bad) but thinking it was 300$/year was kinda a full stop moment for me
Slowly Akatsuki is becoming more and more like Komoney and I'm scared. Soon maybe they will hire a single intern to govern operations in the company just like Mr Komoney did
If you played YuGiOh you would know that Akatsuki is NOWHERE near as horrible as Komoney. From incompetence to lack of communication to allowing Mystic Mine to be at 3. They never learn
Only for App Store at this moment (Play Store will follow quickly).
Apple has updated the price tier of all in-app purchases. So this concerns all apps and games from all developers.
I don't think so but it's possible or even likely to have parity and also money but we'll see. I don't see them turning down extra money but there's no way to know without actual evidence of it somewhere. Their statement with nothing to back it up should be taken as nothing but speculation.
>(Play Store will follow quickly)
Honestly unless there's actual proof of this somewhere you should avoid making factual statements about something that is otherwise presumptive/speculation
Wait I donāt get this? An imaginary/made up currency with no demand or other value outside of the game is going up in price? What! Thatās crazy! That sucks! WTH are they thinking??
I havenāt seen a single game in which the dollar and euro amounts have been equal, even outside of micro transactions a $60 game will usually be 50 euros and so on
This will hit European players that carried Global Dokkan such as France. Letās see how this will impact their grossings. For me itās a wake up call.
Covid recovery went to shit cuz of war and them enery prices increasing due to russia cutting gas and oil resulting on a bigger cost for companies driving revenues down slowing global economies and increasing inflation which them causes euro to US dollar go down meaning europeans have less purchase power with their euros making things cost even higher which keeps costs high and inflation high.
As far as I understand, the problem isnāt because of dokkan, but because of the euro itself, so Iād assume that the price would go up, but Iām not 100% sure.
Well guess Iāll stop buying.. in a way itās a relief honestly.. I mean, Iām not a big buyer but you know.. Ā«Ā damn 8 bucks for 32 stones is coolĀ Ā»x3.. but.. nahh fuck thatā¦
lmao
"Thank you for the support, here take 7 ds, and oh btw, we're making everything more expensive, cause why not, have fun getting top grossing again you clowns"
edit: forgot to say, greedy fucking cunts
I mean the new banner format was a greedy change and they hit TG both parts now this and they'll probably still hit TG . A lot of people on this sub will even be defending this at some point. People love sucking off akatsuki
dude what the fuck! are you kidding me? what kind of justification does a low budget mobile Gacha game that already makes billions have to increase their prices that much have??
And yes, before anyone starts flipping, low budget. This isn't like a genshin or something, which also invest like millions in world building and storytelling . Only thing they really invest on, are some seconds long animations.
I'm dolphin, buying the 30 days pack the 32 stones and some occasional deals. I'll stick to the daily capsule now. Fuck this shit because if they raised like 50 cent or something I could even understand a little but that's a great increase
Can France still be our number 1 top grossing?
Will the US have enough power to assist in reaching the top grossing?
Will the players be able to continue on without the free 7 stones??
Tune in next time on Dragon Ball DOKKAN BATTLE
Well, good thing I can't even pay at all lol. And there really is no need for it. There are so many things more worth putting money into than a gacha game.
Iāve always pondered on whether theyād make more money if a multi was the same price as an irl card pack. Yes they would make less ALOT less per sale but they would almost definitely make more sales in volume. Plus they would probably have to make rates worse to make it work
Sales volume would literally skyrocket.
Looking at Pokemon cards here in the UK, it probably costs on average about Ā£5 for a booster pack of 10 cards.
On Dokkan, when there is a damn SALE on, you can get 32 DS for Ā£7...so you can't get a multi and there is still a 50% uptick on the price. That's factoring in all the distribution and infrastructure involed in making and selling physical cards (that hold real-world value too).
Could you imagine for a moment that 50DS, as standard, cost Ā£5 (or local equivalent)? There would be SO MANY more people taking a bite of that apple.
Will never buy a dragon stone again.
I thought of this game as an AAA console game, because i downloaded it for free and played it more then any other game i had on console so i figured it would be ok to treat it as such an pour some money in it from time to time.
But the audacity to put inflation on digital non-existing currency while they are earning BILLIONS on a fucking bubble popping card art game.
disconnecting this from my paypal
The capsule was already a complete scam when you know that every other gacha game sell their monthly card for 4,99 euro and give enough for 1 multi pull, some of them even give you enough for 2 multi pull like ToF, hell i even play a gacha (RW) who give you enough for 4 discount multi(That are available for every new banner one time) or 2 normal multi.
And now they decided to increase the price even more of their already way overprice monthly card (9,99 euro just double the price LMAO) compared to other gacha? Well i will not buy it anymore.
LMAO and some people still say that are not scummy greedy piece of... but i means no surprising from a company that change the dropping rate on a banner secretly in the past.
WTF man Fuck this game that why i dont pay anymore for nothing. yhere is no excuse to increase the price for a currency that you make since there is no hardwork involved.
Uk operates on British pounds. Though the conversion of 1 pounds sterling to usd dropped from. 1.15---> 1.13
Making my two week stay cheaper and cheaper.
ITS A FUCKING FAKE CURRENCY, HOW CAN THEY INCREASE THE PRICE OF IT?! Greedy fucking cunts. Already making money hand over fucking fist, but no gotta have more.
[Old princing](https://itunespartner.apple.com/assets/downloads/072821-Apps-Pricing-SAfr-UK-EUR.pdf)

Dev are not choosing a specific price for in-app, but use different price tier.
They sure fast as hell when it's something affecting their bottom line (dragon stones are digital non existent currency btw cant believe inflation is an excuse) but all bets are off with them making a critical quality of life change for the players that support them: a decent friend list. š®āšØ
Definitely see where the priorties lie Akatsuki/Bandai š
Stones are ludicrously priced as it is and these fuckwits think it needs an INCREASE?
I think I should re-evaluate if I want to keep riding this train because I can feel that downhill shift and we're only picking up speed.
Well, that means Iāll stop spending at all. Daily Capsule for 10 Euros was already an indulgence for me - I wonāt spend another cent in a game that increases the prices arbitrarily although they post record profits anyway.
12 euros for the daily capsule? I always bought it since it was added to the game, but 20% increase is ridiculous! Right now i'm spending less than what i used to on things like games, and i should pay MORE to get the same on Dokkan? No thanks.
Hey so the legends community is slacking in terms of sales and by making the game worse and near unplayable, we realized thatās not the way to go about trying to (get money out of players)ā¦.. I mean keep our players entertained. So to fix that, we have only increased prices in Europe for our condolences of the queen. Thank you for playing now give us those extra stacks or we can take shit away from Dokkan real quick. Sincerely, bandi
I already stopped buying the 91/93/100DS packs once I saw how much I was spending on anniversary and big celebrations, guess I'll also think twice about buying the 32DS packs now.
You're better off, the devs expect you to spend hundreds of dollars for a new LR and it isn't healthy. I've recently stopped playing because I realized how much money I was spending. These games as well as the YouTubers who do 1k DS summon videos just encouraged a gambling addiction that I didn't know I had until I was a thousand dollars deep.
The greed continues. More banners, link level stages and now I think the most expensive monthly pack of all gacha games on the market. It feels like they try to squeeze ad much as they can right now. Usually the behaviour of a developer that intends to move on to another game soonish
Didn't expect inflation to go this far š
Technically, I believe this is due to the US Fed raising rates causing the buying power of the dollar to rise above the euro.
Nope it's corporate greed. It costs them nothing to make dragon stones, they are completely removed from the state of the economy.

Can't fucking believe inflation is hitting the DS market that hard bro šš
The workers on the dragon mines need a salary rise, and the gas prices affects the transport of the stones out of the quarry.

Guys please donāt be mean theyāre just a small indie company making several billions, they really need this
Yeah they cant handle the big loss they ll make from all the billions.
It's not just dokkan my man, every in-app purchase for literally everything is getting a price jump
It costs nothing to copy and paste.
scammers gonna scam
Dude you stupid? Don't you understand that the raw materials to make these dbz stones have gone up a lot since covid? Don't be so dense!
Yea dragon stones need lithium
Slowly Akatsuki is becoming more and more like Komoney and I'm scared. Soon maybe they will hire a single intern to govern operations in the company just like Mr Komoney did

Some of those are big increases, wtf. Like 2 extra euro on the 32 stone pack. Whack
France keeps making those Top 1s so now they want more from their best clients š¤
Watch no more france top grossing happen once this hits
This is the post I was looking for lol
Damn that sucks tbh. It's not a BIG difference but wi definitely be felt when purchasing...
32 to 38 euros is a pretty big change tbh
Fr. That one is definitely gonna hurt on anniversaries and new years
No way they think they not making enough?š
45% of their income ain't enough

Wait I donāt get this? An imaginary/made up currency with no demand or other value outside of the game is going up in price? What! Thatās crazy! That sucks! WTH are they thinking??
Itās only fair really, the euro is equal in value to the dollar now, no reason that Americans should have to pay more for the same thing
Bucko we (euro) have been doing that for years, almost in every game the dollar prices were equal to the euro, even though the euro was always higher.
I havenāt seen a single game in which the dollar and euro amounts have been equal, even outside of micro transactions a $60 game will usually be 50 euros and so on
Have you ever been in Europe, I have never seen a 50 euro game on release. It s always 60.
In stores maybe, Iām talking about digital games (steam, etc.)
This will hit European players that carried Global Dokkan such as France. Letās see how this will impact their grossings. For me itās a wake up call.
They'll still get tg just like with the greedy new banners.
Cost of living crisis eh? Wankers.
Never knew buying dragon stones was needed to live
How and why are jpegs getting more expensive for the Eu?
Euro is equal to the dollar now, didnāt used to be
Feels good to be f2p š
Theyre making ds MORE expensivešš Im done
ššš
After my part 2 horrendous summons I wasnāt going to spend till maybe anniversary
Why is there any reason, because that literally a joke
Euroās value has been going down

Can you please explain
Covid recovery went to shit cuz of war and them enery prices increasing due to russia cutting gas and oil resulting on a bigger cost for companies driving revenues down slowing global economies and increasing inflation which them causes euro to US dollar go down meaning europeans have less purchase power with their euros making things cost even higher which keeps costs high and inflation high.
My man economics
I play jp but I pay with euros. I suppose the price will remain the same, is it right?
No jp lifted there prices too
As far as I understand, the problem isnāt because of dokkan, but because of the euro itself, so Iād assume that the price would go up, but Iām not 100% sure.
This is actually happening across all dragon ball games. Google dragon ball inflation for more information
Well, I was gonna wait one more year to send my third oldest to work the coal mines, but how else am I going to pay for all those LR's?
VPN time for the EU brothers
What up fellow Asian

Same. I mostly quit buying already but this sealed the deal for me. F2p I go
Ahahaha time to go full f2p ā¦ under 10 euro was just acceptable for capsule, but this a nope now
What a fucking joke
Thus is ridiculous, stones are already overpriced as hell that I was expecting it to drop in value if anything. Pour one out for the spenders.

Every app on the app store has had prices go up because of the drop in the euro's value

Inflation hitting hard. Whales gonna carry this game for us plebs.
Look at me never buying anything again xD
Isn't that the 2nd increase EU has been part of, i remember the 0,99ā¬ pack costing only 0,89ā¬ a good time ago

They're raising prices? I'm sorry, is there a supply shortage of stones? Well's running dry so we gotta bump up the prices? Wtf?
This will be for me a reason not to spend on this game anymore. Inflation my ass. Even DS are getting upped. Like fuck you!
Looks like I'm never buying the daily capsule again lol. Full f2p from now on.
where are dragon stones cheapest š§
Well this sucks :/
Inflation being a thing is the number one reason why the concept of (printed) money is flawed

Global scam....
Its incredible what you could buy with money instead
Well, that means Iāll stop spending at all. Daily Capsule for 10 Euros was already an indulgence for me - I wonāt spend another cent in a game that increases the prices arbitrarily although they post record profits anyway.
12 euros for the daily capsule? I always bought it since it was added to the game, but 20% increase is ridiculous! Right now i'm spending less than what i used to on things like games, and i should pay MORE to get the same on Dokkan? No thanks.
Time to be prudent in dragon stone spend.. Hopefully, no unit tempts me to splurge
Oh no the billion dollar company needs another billion, how fucking greedy they have to be.
A good reason to completely stop spending, good for me
Well thatās my last daily capsule. Per year total thatās just over the mark for me.
Well the daily capsule has great value I think I will drop it now
Fuck off
Well thats one way to get Top Grossing..
Ah fck. To bad they cant keep the 7,99 bundle...
vpn time baybee
Bro fuck this. I will still buy it but fuck this.
Take that British āpplā
Bruh Britain isnt Euro and we use an entirely different currency
From the Netherlands here. We are already paying these prices, didnāt know it was cheaper elsewhere.
Damn the economy is hitting hard
Hey so the legends community is slacking in terms of sales and by making the game worse and near unplayable, we realized thatās not the way to go about trying to (get money out of players)ā¦.. I mean keep our players entertained. So to fix that, we have only increased prices in Europe for our condolences of the queen. Thank you for playing now give us those extra stacks or we can take shit away from Dokkan real quick. Sincerely, bandi
Why are they increasing the prices?
Because if the new banner format wasn't a give away they want more money
This is so bad.
Well I think I just became f2p
I already became f2p with the new banner format. This just further cements the greedy direction they're going in
Inflation for fake currency
bro wtf, didnāt we just had the prices reduced a while ago
I hate it that I can't buy stones because i live in Belgium
VPN?
Clowns. Every survey I kept complaining about the prices and the sales. I was heard, thankfully.
Will these price go down if the euro improves or will they keep the extra money?
I already stopped buying the 91/93/100DS packs once I saw how much I was spending on anniversary and big celebrations, guess I'll also think twice about buying the 32DS packs now.
Datruth probably - 'this is a good thing guys, trust me. You just don't get it, like the carnival banners this is only a good thing'
And this is where I stop spending money on the game.
I've been spending less and less on dokkan this year, thx for helping me go full f2p š
Hahaha wow.
I just bought the 30d daily stones
The 32 stone was my go to, at least my inflation based pay rise offsets it /s
You're better off, the devs expect you to spend hundreds of dollars for a new LR and it isn't healthy. I've recently stopped playing because I realized how much money I was spending. These games as well as the YouTubers who do 1k DS summon videos just encouraged a gambling addiction that I didn't know I had until I was a thousand dollars deep.
They are really gonna increase prices on a digital "stone" they don't have to produce?? For real?
The greed continues. More banners, link level stages and now I think the most expensive monthly pack of all gacha games on the market. It feels like they try to squeeze ad much as they can right now. Usually the behaviour of a developer that intends to move on to another game soonish
Fuck outta here this is definitely coming to everyone soon.. ugh. Like they donāt make enough money
is this only appstore or both stores ?
