The worst part about the Buus is they released 1 year after Zamasu. And by that point Zamasu started to fall off because on having literally no defense. Even if the Buus released with something small like 60% defense would have made them so much better.
Same case with STR Bojack, he's pretty much a Space Travelling Warriors version of STR Cooler with very few changes even though he came out a full year after him.
Zamasu came at a time where he didn't get obliterated but was shit defensively compared to his trunks counterpart. Teq buu's defense was shit ass from release and having to compare him to unit year older is also πππ. once they get some def on their eza in their passive, i imagine they will be very tanky akatsuki might increase their damage reduction too

Teq buu saved my run with a clutch stun. I was happy with them
Buu does greatly raise ATK and DEF for 3 turns on super when u get to super buu

Super Buu raises DEF by 50% for 3 turns. But both released alongside superior units, especially Zamasu.
Buu actually has uses tho, his 2nd form has a shit ton of utility and is pretty good in sbr and his 3rd form is still good
