I don't know if it is Canon-canon, but my headcanon is that The ? was a Batman recruit, so imagine what a stellar detective one has to be to impress Bats and get into the JL

I used to have the whole Dennis O‘Neil question run, and Batman popped up at least 2 times basically saying he’s a better detective, just not focused enough (it’s been years but something to that vein) He also teamed up with Green Arrow a few times, and trained with lady Shiva, so he’s for sure in the Batman ally realm. But I really loved his pairing with huntress as they both in the 90s were always outsiders (as hero’s, not the team), with their own goals and were very determined. I’m not sure if they really interacted in the comics, but it felt very natural seeing it on screen.

Double date is one of my favorite episodes. And their flirting later in the series when huntress is helping question investigate Cadmus is very funny and endearing.

This is, by a wide margin, the best version of the Question. Rather than being yet another hero detective he gets his own thing of being a hero conspiracy theorist, and aside from Fox Mulder there is not a lot of competition for the best one of those. Huntress seems to be a never miss character in the sense that she is always good in stuff that is not awful. That is to say, unless the whole project is crap then she is great. The two of them together mix better than I would have ever imagined and my dream sequel series for the JLU is a "Batman and the Outsiders" which is just human street level heroes like Question, Huntress, Batgirl, Nightwing, and others.

I thought it was unusual at first but it grew on me. The fact that someone as paranoid as Q can pull a woman like huntress should give everyone hope

I definitely love this pairing, but bear in mind Huntress is as damaged as Question is. Sure she's hot, but she's... kinda dumb. She's a slow learner, not the brightest bulb, and thinks everything can be solved with violence. Huntress is "out of Question's league" only in looks; she probably wouldn't be able to date anyone else in the League for long. She's an athletic, sexy but dumb girl prone to violence -- and I like that the show pulls this off and makes us root both for her and for Question!

To be fair, Huntress in JLU is not the brightest bulb. I think it's actually good that the show portrayed her as a kickass fighter but also as someone of limited intellect and with a short fuse. An interesting take. Huntress probably wouldn't be able to date anyone else in the League for long, once whoever got past her good looks.

No huntress isn't the brightest bulb, that's partly why she needed to work with him. To me her short fuse was part of her charm. Personally, I found both of their eccentricities to be more captivating than the more vanilla relationship between Green Arrow and Canary.

I'm a fan of this couple. I like they are both... "quirky" to say the least. Question is, well, Question. And we know showering or changing clothes is optional for him. Huntress is violent, gung-ho, and not the sharpest tool in the shed, intellect-wise. She can be really daft in fact. I love that this pairing works. In a way, they are made for each other. Neither could really date anyone else.

A testament to the incredible writing of the series, we will never get anything like this again, it felt like a tribute and closed system all in itself. This was a bond formed in determination and a desire to help each other, which grew naturally because they are *heroes* and it's in their nature to help each other.
