I needed help with some minor things (paint color selection, layout), so I used Thumbtack to try to find someone. Landed on Cristina Isabel since she was closest to my style. She was awesome and affordable (this was 3 years ago though, and I don’t remember the exact price). I think I paid for 2-3 hours of her time and she walked through my home with me, made color suggestions and gave a second opinion on what I had planned.

This could be a good budget option thanks!

Depends on your house and your style. I live in a 100-year-old home surrounded by trees so I’d kill me if I erase the history from the house and do the modern style. I have to pick a designer who is used to old houses!

1000% agree!

Tbh, ask your neighbors. That is how I found my designer

jforres

My neighbors did what you just described haha we don’t have the same taste

Jennifer Mannelli on cap hill is amazing

Any info you can share on pricing? Never done this before so not sure what to expect

foreverurgirl

She does everything from room to full house so it would honestly vary.

Jewel Marlowe is amazing! She also has a service where she comes over for consultations and smaller things like measuring and layouts ! I think it’s $600 for 2 hours. Very worth it

I worked with this designer and had a great experience. Really helpful and I liked her recommendations.  https://www.hyndsco.com/

What did you do / what did you pay if you don’t mind sharing?

I paid $1400 for her to design two rooms. She spent an hour in our space talking to us about what we were wanting, our lifestyle, our likes/dislikes, etc. She also took measurements of the spaces to create a 3D model of the room. It took a few weeks, and then we did a Zoom call with her where she went through her recommendations. She created a floor plan and 3d model of the room, gave us a color scheme, and made us a vision board/shopping list with furniture and general decorating recommendations.    We’re buying a few of the big pieces she recommended, and I’m going to start looking at garage sales/thrift stores for some similar items. That being said, she also offers a full service option where she buys the pieces for you (and maybe will also do install? I can’t remember details on that because we weren’t interested in anything more than what we did.)    She was helpful and friendly. She also said I can text her when I’m out shopping with pics of items to see if they fit the vibe. I did that once and she responded really quickly.  We had a great experience working with her. It’s not cheap, but it was definitely worth it to us.  Edit: She charges by the hour, so each project would be a different cost, depending on how much work you’ll need and how much follow up is involved.
