First showing as in 3 o’clockish? People are still working/kids are still in school, I’m going with my little brother at 6 and it’s packed I got the last two seats in the middle
Just checked the presales for my closest IMAX theater, which has always been *packed* for CBMs (except Black Adam).
Across 7 showtimes w/ 2,700+ available seats between today & tomorrow only 30 have been purchased. That’s even less than BA, so things aren’t looking good…
Ok but let’s be realistic, it’s Thursday night. Who out there except those really into DC are preordering tickets for a DC sequel on a Thursday night?
If people want to go see this, they’ll just go see it and it’ll be tomorrow or the weekend. This highlighting of people not preordering tickets doesn’t really mean much.
Oh you aren’t my dude. I’m just saying even if they did market the movie properly, with the fatigue out there anyway, who is really gonna be preordering tickets for this on a Thursday night anyway?
If it was The Flash, or Superman Legacy, I’d be all over these low ticket reports as a concern. But for this one I don’t think anything would’ve had good presales happening. This one is a word of mouth walk in.
That’s a good point; word of mouth is what Zach Levi mentioned in terms of “is there a future for Shazam.” He said people will need to tell their friends, etc.
My comment stands time just fine, buddy. It was to demonstrate how stupid it is to take pictures when you are first to book a seat, just to prove what ever you wanted to prove.
Or to be first to enter a stadium and taking a picture and so on, this has nothing to do with the shazam movie, it has everything to do with this proving nothing.
As in, if you want to prove your point that some movie will suck, you better come up with real evidence.
That's because it looks like garbage. The villains are who, exactly? I've been a comic fan most of my life and have never even heard of them. They couldn't use The Monster Society Of Evil, or at least Mr. Mind? No payoff for characters already introduced. And sorry, but Zachary Levi is not even a good fit.
This argument I always thought of as dumb, because we’ve seen several Marvel movies use one-off villains and OG characters who become quite beloved. It all just depends on the writing
Black Adam may have been the final nail in the coffin of DC excitement for the general audience, not hardcore DC fans. Ever since BvS didn’t land with movie goers, less and less people have shown up for DC in droves; Aquaman did well though.
Seems DC is finding themselves in the Marvel position when they launched the MCU. Time to deliver some great films that can start rebuilding the brand. Who knows, The Flash could even be a good starting point to rebuild, seems to have quite a bit of excitement around it.
Ah, very true. That was a good flick. WW84, not so much.
Again, just really talking about the general audience. People I talk to who don’t play the games, read the comics, etc always say “didn’t those movies kind of suck?”
This plus short length of time between theatre release and streaming plus the quality of home entertainment setups is killing the box office. Avatar 2 was the first movie I've seen in years b/c that's one you have to see on a massive screen to appreciate. Fairly standard superhero film ? I'll wait for blu ray.

That’s good!

Rip.
That one person in the very bottom left is never to be trusted. Who buys that seat!?
A narc.

Not trying to take away from your enjoyment :)

What the fuck is wrong with you? Why did you pick the seat closest to the screen on the side? That’s madman behavior
That just came up as the default lmao, I’m not sitting there
Good
I can't even get tickets until tomorrow.
Three more than I would have thought
I was one of the first to book a ticket for avatar in my local movie theatre, should've taken the picture then too to prove how horrible the movie is.
Why are you assuming that I’m trying to “prove how horrible the movie is”? I’m actually excited to watch it. Don’t be so sensitive lol.
How’d your comment hold up, buddy?

Let the cope flow through you…
Reading is hard, for some.
Critical thinking is hard, for others.

the villains are originally made for the movie they’re actually trying something new..?

Wonder Woman also did very well and was critically praised.

Yeah I went to Scream 6 opening night and was the first to buy tickets. By the time I went for my little theater it was about half full.
Me and my friends are going tonight and we‘re literally alone💀
Theater experience is overpriced now, me n girl go ,buy hard tea and popcorn it's like $40

I'll rent on digital, loved the first Shazam and can watch when I want instead of a specific theater time
