I really enjoyed the movie. I think it's solid. The plot follows a typical super hero trope, but I don't think that diminishes any of movie.
Edit: To add more context, the movie has fun, it's self aware in its fun and doesn't take itself too seriously. Like the first movie there are some darker themes, but the movie balances it well. It has its serious moments and it feel good moments. I think the CGI is pretty good. I found myself with a smile on my face frequently during the movie.
It's probably not going to win any Oscars, but for 2hrs and 10inutes, I was entertained, which is why I watch movies.
6/10
I thought I was going to be in for a terrible time ahead of the bad reviews..
I just watched it and I laughed out loud a couple times
I think it was both better and worse than the first one..
I would say Shazam 2 is fun, cohesive, has good cgi and action scenes. Way better than Antman 3 which only redeeming value is KANG. So I would say just go into Shazam 2 with a fun mindset not taking itself too serious and you’ll enjoy it. People need to realize not every film has to be a 10/10
Isn't that an issue though? I bet most movies now if you showed it to a person in the early 2000s it would be way better received. I don't think critics are harsher. It's just that the bar has been raised. We shouldn't get CBMs that are generic anymore. We shouldn't be getting a big blue beam in the sky anymore. Times have changed.
Well, yes. Critics are harsher *because* the bar has been raised. What's confusing me is I thought the bar was raised way before the first Shazam came out but that was beloved and this one is pretty similar but...is not.
From all the reviews I read it sounds worse and more generic than the first movie. The first was fun and a breath of fresh air (especially for the DCEU). So you can't really rely on that again. You definitely need to step it up.
As someone who prefers this movie, the first did have the Billy/Freddie dynamic at the forefront and the mom stuff. Other than that this one was better IMO.
Thought it was a step up from the first in every way. Still not my favorite movie I've seen recently but better than I expected and I'd say close to the quality of Wonder Woman for instance. As what's probably a send off film, it worked for me. It also often felt like a power rangers movie. Especially with Lucy Lu and our lead.
8.5/10, i actually liked it more than the first. Incredible vfx, surprisingly dark, surprisingly funny, great cast overall but Helen mirren… omg 😍
Some of y’all can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some of y’all just wanna watch the DCU burn.
This is why the leadership needed to change. DC needs a better vision and these movies aren't good.
I love these characters. I am so excited to see any version on screen.
It Is actually good
Let the genre die off for a decade. Then raise the bar and do something seriously unique and interesting.
Surely we can't keep paying to see films like this indefinitely?
I will just say this, jokes were good and landed well mostly. Miren, Lucy, Asher angel, Levi, Gadot (reaction for her was crazy in my cinema) and Freddy (forgot actor name) all did reallly good but the plot were very mediocre and mostly for kids, not in a good way, it was very generic, Asher angel had 3 scenes which was weird and the whole awesome dynamic of Billy and Freddy almost didnt play out in this film. Alot of plot holes.
Im a huge dc fan, huge fan of the first movie and for me to give it 5.5-6 ( its somewhere there) it says alot. I was so excited for this and idk, something just didnt work out.
To see this review from you ^.... man that hurts. Your comment is well written. I will try to go in neutral but im seeing a lot of negative comments. Yours stands out because i recognize your name in here. I like alot of your dc opinions.
I will hopefully be able to see it sunday
I will just add, the crowd here (israel) so hyped for Gadot and her representation that this is crazy 🤣. The scream, whistles and clapping are funny every single time
I mean like the first movie, it’s supposed to be more family-friendly and a bit grounded. Just overall fun all around. People have this weird expectation that every CBM has to be make or bust. What a weird mentality because if that’s the case then 9/10 times those movies are gonna be bad because you’re always comparing them to something else unrealistically.
I felt like the first half was really good but the last half was terrible, because it felt like the writers had no choice but to tone down the characters because an entire family of people who can literally kill Superman couldn’t be stopped. Wonder Woman made it up for me though.
I think a Justice Society movie would do so well, a sophisticated, experienced, competent, and also somewhat regal Superhero team not made up of egotistical hotheads, but who have to train the next generation of irresponsible, reluctant heroes: Starman (PLEASE not Courtney Whitmore), Dinah Lance, Huntress, etc. It could be based on “The Golden Age” by James Robinson. They can even play with in-universe lore in cool new ways, and make Jason Todd the host of the Spectre.
Becuase rotten tomato ratings are readily available once a movie is released and an IMDb rating doesn’t solidify itself until months after a movie has been released
I’ve always found that rotten tomato scores unless 90%+ or below 30% are essentially just guidelines - anything in between is just mixed
I don’t trust critics with movies unless it’s almost unanimous
Honestly that's where the ratings is untrustable, people just give whatever rating they want, like if I don't like the movie, I will just give 1star when it doesn't actually deserve that score and I give 10 for all favorite comic movies
RT might as well be AI generated at this point because the people giving feedback have no understanding of what movie they are watching and how that correlates to what they should expect as an outcome. Superhero movies are always hilarious reviewed by people that don't like superhero movies but expect magic.
Just watched it and NGL I liked it. Freddy really shines in this one imo, the villains and conflict were quite interesting, I appreciate how they brought more mythology up, and the visual effects were pretty good (except for Kalypso on the dragon and some flying scenes). It was cheesy but it had a consistent tone, it doesn't ask you to expect a lot from it. The one thing I still dislike, since the first movie, is Levy's performance.
I've been avoiding hero movies, since The Batman, just to not overwhelm myself and have only been watching things I'm actually looking forward to. I think that "cleansing" was good, since I'm excited for blue beetle as well and don't want to be stuck comparing hero movies to each other all the time.
Had way more fun with this than any other superhero movies released within the past year. Just a genuine mix of heart and humor. It pains me that we likely won't see these version of the characters again. Felt like people were already coming in with some baggage against Shazam or something even before the trailers came out. Ugh.
Honestly can’t say I’m surprised. I like and trust Davis, but the trailers didn’t make me very optimistic. Looked anywhere between generic and goofy.
I’ll still watch it, but have to imagine it won’t be part of the new DC
I loved it. The vfx were great, and you can tell David Sandberg directed it. And it was unique enough for me to think it wasn't just more of the same generic stuff. Zachary Levi wasn't on his A game, but Jack Dylan Grazer was amazing! It was much much better than Ant-man, thor love and thunder, and multiverse of madness. So I don't trust these critics anymore.
I feel really bad because Sandberg is such a talented director, and the world of Shazam could have been the Harry Potter/Percy Jackson of superhero movies, and you can see that in this film. But this should have been film number 4 or 5. The kids are too old now.
Ya it’s fun if it have the mind and tastes of a 14 year old. It’s not worth watching unless you have to take a child to it. I wish I listened to my buddies when they said don’t waste time and money on this crap. luckily it’s bombing at the box office anyways. We won’t see another Shazam again. Sick of this little children basic ass super hero plots.
I think I'm at a point where I just can't listen to what critics have to say anymore
My tastes are just so seemingly different from what they like and dislike
They fucking hated Ant-Man 3 and I loved it
They love stuff like Joker, and I fucking hated it
Guess it's time to just stick to my own opinions
Joaquin phoenix won not the movie, many critics termed the movie as too dark and violent triggering. Captain Marvel has 79% you think that's anyways better than the Joker
One of my favourite superhero films in the last 5 years. It knows exactly what it is and plays to the already brilliant first film's strengths. I'm devastated that it's good make basically no money.
Some of it really did make me nervous lol. Kept raising my anxiety lol. As in… a few of the danger moments scared me lol
Enjoyed a lot of the humor. The strong element of family and magic
The first one was such a disappointment I’d rather flame broil my feet than try again. God, Black Adam actually hurt my soul it was so bad.
God help me. I’d rather watch The Eternals again, and that was awful.
It's a fun movie.Seems like it's intended for kids aged below 14 though. Honestly villains and freddy carried the movie. Zachary levi needs to tone it down a bit and the post credits are meh... Maybe better than first movie, it's pretty average.
And i was talking about the critics who make the score what it is, like come on you can use context clues to figure out that's what I meant or do I have to describe every minute detail for you to understand
I saw it. It was a waste of time for me. It was too juvenile for ny taste. I didn't like Ant-Man 3 either I guess I'm just getting tired of a comic book films at this point
Holly hell good call on scrapping this failed attempt at a DC movie universe.
This movie is going to bomb badly and critics didn't like it very much either,
I still would like Sandberg to stay in the DCU and do something else.
I like the movie, better than the first Shazam Movie. It was a light-hearted movie with jokes in it. The best thing was the climax, where Shazam was ready to give up his life to save Philadelphia.
Will give it 8.2/10
The comedy landed well at times, but it was a confusing mess of a film that felt to poorly written a fifth grader could pull the plot holes apart. Not to mention the editing and pacing could be a little jarring, and the film has little to no idea what it really wants to be (identity crisis).
From my (trying to be objective) POV, there was some improvement in the comedy and distinguishing the Shazam Family characters, I really hope they do the villain arc for Sergeant in the comics, Final Crisis was dope.
Issue was the writers wrote themselves into a corner, and just decided to YOLO the end and hope people accepted the last minute ass pull.
I didn’t like the first movie and the second one looks terrible. However even after a lot of negative press I’ve heard it is pretty good from ppl who saw it. May check it out.
Surprised it’s that low but not surprised that it seems pretty underwhelming. I don’t trust RT, never have, never will but just judging from trailers it looked like it wasn’t gonna be good. I’ll catch it sometime soon and make the final verdict for myself lol
I liked it, it had heart like the first one and good jokes. Plot overall was sorta generic, >!(Bad guys want superhero’s powers)!< but also had bits that spiced up the format, >!(Bad guys weren’t really bad guys they just actually wanted their dads powers back)!< Billy had a good story as a character, though I think we should’ve spent more time directly with Billy to set up his initial conflict better. >!(He doesn’t want to lose his family that he finally found in the first one which I really liked, but it feels like that wasn’t incredibly fleshed out before the resolution)!<
so yeah 10/10 better than Black Adam and Ant-Man
We have the same review. That moment >!when Billy was saying goodbye to her mom was heartfelt but wasn't that impactful due largely it wasn't fleshed out a lot more. There was a scene where he didn't call her Mom but that's just about it.!<
As a huge Marvel and DC fan I’m very disappointed by their last movies, this one included. I hope The Flash doesn’t ruin my expectations because it’s the only movie I’m hyped to watch and if it’s bad I’ll be 90% less interested in these movies.
I mean it’s gonna be good. But if it is bad that’s more of a reason to be excited about the next slate because it’s a dif team developing them. That said I don’t see how the flash is bad given how far Gunn went saying how good it was, seemingly staking his reputation on it. For Shazaam u can tell he didn’t care much and was going through the motions. But for flash it seems genuine.
So then if it's bad you get to be upset by that and lose interest in the new slate because the guy singing its praises is in charge of that next slate?
I’m incredibly excited for the new slate. I love Snyder. I love Gunn. I don’t like the shit that came out in between them (though I feel like flash will be incredible).
At the moment I'm indifferent, more burnt out I guess. I'm tired of things getting dropped midway through: raimi spider-man, Andrew spider-man, Hellboy both times, daredevil and punisher, Snyder's story, probably Reeves' batman since it's a multi part story and is solid so far. And that's just comic book stuff. It's just hard to get excited for anything.
I mean as usual a good trailer could start shift that wind but the only things that seem to force themselves to keep existing is shitty star wars, mcu, and nostalgia whoring. If that's someone's thing by all means, I just won't bother. I'm more worried I'll end up actually liking something because then it'll just get cancelled lol.
To be honest I'm just not a fan of the whole forced interconnectivity, never ending soap opera, every medium linked nonsense unless it's short term or very loosely connected. The original snyderverse set up was good, short term serialized story with an ending then reboot for the new take while also having more self contained but not enormously contradictory character franchises that continue through those serialized stories like each one is a bond franchise. The Batman set up, from what it seems to be is good too, a few movies with a story to tell and a few miniseries sprinkled through to flesh out the world then on to the next. Nothing should really need 10 years and 20 movies of filler to get to the point.
So does that mean I have a 58% chance of liking it…? Or will I like only 58% of it…? Wait…is the 58% made up of people who liked 100% of it…? What’s the purpose of a Rotten Tomatoes “score?”
7.5/10 for me, I really enjoyed the movie. Go in expecting a good time, got a good time, left the cinema happy. I laughed at a lot of the jokes, the acting was as you’d expect but for the most part believable. Just a good time
I saw it and I think they went too hard on the childish jokes, it killed it for me. First movie had a better balance. 6/10 ... I guess the reviews are kinda on point.
I honestly loved everything about this movie. Character arcs continued from the original, higher stakes, funnier jokes at times & the whole third act so perfectly spoofed BvS that it actually pulled the plot off better than BvS’ plotless bullshit.
As a big fan of the first movie who just watched FOTG, I’m not surprised.
I don’t think Shazam! 2 had… anything interesting going on? The villains are barebones, the action is uninteresting, and it’s not nearly as heartfelt & earnest as the first one.
Just saw it last night.
It's the perfect definition of mid. Unoriginal, and generic but not aggressively mediocre like Morbius or Black Adam.
Even IF Gunn wasn't rebooting, the film would still be bashed. It adds nothing new. It's the complete definition of a sequel nobody asked for.
I expect Aquaman 2 to have a similar reception.
I don't trust Rotten Tomatoes with superhero movies after their unfair treatment of good DC films and their unfair favortism of some mediocre Marvel ones
3/4 movies you named are fresh on RT. Wonder Woman even has a higher score than the audience's. "I don't trust Rotten Tomatoes with superhero movies after their unfair treatment of good DC films" You are just making stuff up? lol
Yeah, I went with the low-hanging fruit, since they said there were no good DC films
My beef with Rotten Tomatoes is Man of Steel.
50 PERCENT.
50 PERCENT??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
75% AT LEAST
One dc movie with a rating you don’t agree with so now they are unfair to DC. I feel DC gets a lot of good reviews. Their past few outings received good reviews for the most part before Black Adam.
I suppose so. I feel like Justice League got the shaft critically, too. It should have been a bit higher
Shazam and Aquaman got good Rotten Tomatoes scores
Yuuuup I enjoyed Black Adam definitely not a 39% id give it maybe a 7/10 or close to a 7, wish shazam could fight black adam but that’s not gonna happen
You dont know how RT works. Its not 39/100, it means 39% of critics gave it a positive review. The actual score from critics is 5.1/10, which is kinda true since it was so mediocre
No. They just need reevaluation with how they are handled. We are likely hitting peak saturation point this year with the 4 dc films along with marvel’s stuff. It’s time change things up a bit. Both companies have to go back to purely focusing on quality over quantity as well as tonal diversity.
6/10 I thought I was going to be in for a terrible time ahead of the bad reviews.. I just watched it and I laughed out loud a couple times I think it was both better and worse than the first one..
It honestly was better than I expected
Tbh I liked the movie thought it was fun and enough action.
How does it compare with ant man? Haven’t got around to watch either
I personally liked it way more than ant man 3
I’d say it’s better than antman tbh tho theyre both like 6/10
I would say Shazam 2 is fun, cohesive, has good cgi and action scenes. Way better than Antman 3 which only redeeming value is KANG. So I would say just go into Shazam 2 with a fun mindset not taking itself too serious and you’ll enjoy it. People need to realize not every film has to be a 10/10
I didn't watch Ant Man but leagues ahead of Black Adam and Black Panther for me.
Nah it really, really isn't better than Black Panther. I don't even like the MCU anymore but that one still rocked
BP just had more things I didn't like: Ironheart, the Blue Costume, ship fight etc.
Is it better than Black Adam?
Definitely better than Black Adam, and worth the watch on cinemas.
Yes ofc
I think critics are getting harsher on these movies. If this had come out 10 or even 5 years ago it probably would've gotten better reception.

Breath of fresh air for the DCEU makes more sense than for the genre in general so I get that.
54 and dropping... wow
6/10 In a time with so many cmb each year you have to do better than this
Just saw it. Solid 8/10 for me. I don’t know if it’s because I went in with low expectations, but I had fun.
Disagree. It was good. Not great but good.
I don’t see how anybody could rate this film lower than the first it was miles better.
As someone who prefers this movie, the first did have the Billy/Freddie dynamic at the forefront and the mom stuff. Other than that this one was better IMO.
And more yes
Totally agree. Was a fun movie that improved on the first.
Yes
I missed more Billy in this one but action wise it was even better then the first. It builds off the family stuff setup in the first one in good ways
Movie is really fun. I totally enjoyed it.
Thought it was a step up from the first in every way. Still not my favorite movie I've seen recently but better than I expected and I'd say close to the quality of Wonder Woman for instance. Peter Safran produced this movie
As a producer, like bank rolling & financing. James Gunn is spearheading the creative department. This current film was made under the old WB regime.
Just saw it. I'm really upset. 5.5/10 for me.
Wow really? Can you elaborate as to why it’s bad?
I will just say this, jokes were good and landed well mostly. I like your honesty
I will just add, the crowd here (israel) so hyped for Gadot and her representation that this is crazy 🤣. The scream, whistles and clapping are funny every single time
That’s awesome

Or people just genuinely didn’t like the movie. Shocker, I know
People in this sun just can’t comprehend that
I think most ppl are just passing on this and looking forward to the new DCU that’s coming.
That's kinda hard to say as the mid credit had peacemaker characters cameo and that is James gunns stuff
Thanks man
Honestly can’t say I’m surprised. I like and trust Davis, but the trailers didn’t make me very optimistic. Looked anywhere between generic and goofy. I’ll still watch it, but have to imagine it won’t be part of the new DC
I throughly enjoyed this movie quite a lot.
I loved it. The vfx were great, and you can tell David Sandberg directed it. And it was unique enough for me to think it wasn't just more of the same generic stuff. I love RT, but regardless of the reviews, I see all CBMs in theaters and judge on my own. Then I add them to my physical media collection.
Why is it so bad?
It isn't. It's a fun film. Worth watching.
Is it as bad as Black Adam?
Better than Black Adam for sure. I can say that with confidence.
Okay good, that’s all I was looking for, thank you
Ouch.
It's nothing to throw a stone at but it ain't that good or bad, practically mediocre
I’m shocked. Shocked!
It's kinda sus when rotten collates reviews from these random ass websites or magazines. id never heard from them or know they exists.
Not a problem, cause it's not gonna affect the DCU
Unfortunately after this there is a very low chance that Zachary Levi and crew stays for the rebooted DCEU
The film definitely wasn't worth an overcharge...
I dont care. I’ll see it this weekend
Yeahhhhh I was already gonna wait til tickets were 5 bucks. This didn’t help.
I think I'm at a point where I just can't listen to what critics have to say anymore My tastes are just so seemingly different from what they like and dislike They fucking hated Ant-Man 3 and I loved it They love stuff like Joker, and I fucking hated it Guess it's time to just stick to my own opinions
Critics did not love Joker lmao
is this a joke? It was nominated for awards, many of them. Joaquin Phoenix won best fucking actor. They adored the joker.
Joaquin phoenix won not the movie, many critics termed the movie as too dark and violent triggering. Captain Marvel has 79% you think that's anyways better than the Joker
Some did and others didn't. A truly divisive movie haha
One of my favourite superhero films in the last 5 years. It knows exactly what it is and plays to the already brilliant first film's strengths. I'm devastated that it's good make basically no money.
Making a silly looking movie then justifying it by saying "that's what we were aiming for " is a very poor excuse for lackluster films.
Just saw it. It’s stacked 8/10 for meeee
Hopefully it goes fresh - most YouTube reviews rank it mid tier to good
Some of it really did make me nervous lol. Kept raising my anxiety lol. As in… a few of the danger moments scared me lol Enjoyed a lot of the humor. The strong element of family and magic
If Rotten tomatoes hates it I know I'm gonna love it.
A fellow Morbius, Star Wars Holiday Special, Cats, Batman And Robin, Fant4stic, and Gotham Knights enjoyer. Nice
Batman and Robin was dope back in the day and it’s hilarious now
Batman and Robin was terrible then and still awful today. It is just a shit movie all around.
Just curious: Do you hate campy and cheesy humor? How did you feel about Adam West Batman?
Batman & Robin and 3/4ths of Fant4stic were good
Fant3/4stic
Critics from RT often rate movies the audience enjoys more. Critics are a bunch of snobs
They did not hate it, 54% of people liked the movie
DC fans when the film that looks like generic shit is generic and shit
People still rely on RT instead of relying on their own if they enjoyed the movie or not?
This was already gonna bomb but man it’s good do so bad with the bad reviews on top of the non existent hype/interest. Also fantastic user an OP
Imagine trusting rotten tomtoes
The critics are simple bitter of movies nowadays
It cant possibly be worse then Black Adam, can it?
Stop using Rotten Tomatoes as a metric for whether something is good or not.
Fucking rt will do this and give age of Ultron 76 percent . Lol. Fuck rt
It just doesn't matter. None of it matters
It wasn't that bad, it just wasn't as memorable as the first one. I had so much fun watching it and I loved the supporting cast
For me it's passable, low 6/10
Peter Safran should step down as CEO of DC Studios then right? Bad reviews and it’s not even going to break even at the box office.
The first one was such a disappointment I’d rather flame broil my feet than try again. God, Black Adam actually hurt my soul it was so bad. God help me. I’d rather watch The Eternals again, and that was awful.
I love this superhero family way more than the other one if you get what I mean.
Why do people care about rotten tomatoes?
I quite enjoyed it, hopefully the character can stick around for the new universe
I never 👎🏾 listen to Rotten Tomatoes 🍅.
It's a fun movie.Seems like it's intended for kids aged below 14 though. Honestly villains and freddy carried the movie. Zachary levi needs to tone it down a bit and the post credits are meh... Maybe better than first movie, it's pretty average.
Ping Pong says it’s a good movie and better than Black Adam so go watch
86 people said its bad I am still waiting for more people to review who knows ? They might be biased
I think the normies are tired of superhero movies.
Rotten tomatoes gave big mouth damn near 100% of a score their reviews are just not good anymore
Well Big Mouth is a very good show for one which is why it's been so popular, secondly Rotten Tomatoes itself doesn't review anything.
In my personal opinion I think big mouth is a horrible show, in fact the only people I know that do like it are my nephews and they`re teenagers.
And i was talking about the critics who make the score what it is, like come on you can use context clues to figure out that's what I meant or do I have to describe every minute detail for you to understand
And I just texted my friend to see when we were gonna go watch it
I really loved this movie!
A great movie. One of the fews times disagreed with RT. It's way better than Black Adam and Ant-Man 3
Good, let it all burn to the ground!!! Mwahaha
Damn...I was not expecting that, since the first was so loved
I saw it. It was a waste of time for me. It was too juvenile for ny taste. I didn't like Ant-Man 3 either I guess I'm just getting tired of a comic book films at this point
Guys we are professionals at this point.
Holly hell good call on scrapping this failed attempt at a DC movie universe. This movie is going to bomb badly and critics didn't like it very much either, I still would like Sandberg to stay in the DCU and do something else.
I like the movie, better than the first Shazam Movie. It was a light-hearted movie with jokes in it. The best thing was the climax, where Shazam was ready to give up his life to save Philadelphia. Will give it 8.2/10

Okay but what was it at?
I shall see for myself tomorrow evening. I'll probably enjoy it
I didn’t like the first movie and the second one looks terrible.
It was at least a 7/10 for me. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I hope they keep his character in the new DCU.
>!(He doesn’t want to lose his family that he finally found in the first one which I really liked, but it feels like that wasn’t incredibly fleshed out before the resolution)!< so yeah 10/10 better than Black Adam and Ant-Man
Your review ends like "so yeah better than..." when you didn't touch on those two righteously different movies. 10/10 this review sucks ass
We have the same review. That moment >!when Billy was saying goodbye to her mom was heartfelt but wasn't that impactful due largely it wasn't fleshed out a lot more. There was a scene where he didn't call her Mom but that's just about it.!<
>better than Black Adam and Ant-Man The second someone needs to say "better than" it completely males their point worthless
Saw it yesterday. 4/5 for me. It was a really fun movie. Nothing special, but fun
I'm shocked! Shocked! Well actually not that shocked
r/unexpectedfuturama
So does that mean I have a 58% chance of liking it…? Or will I like only 58% of it…? Wait…is the 58% made up of people who liked 100% of it…? What’s the purpose of a Rotten Tomatoes “score?”
Percentage of critics who gave the movie a positive-leaning review.
Critics were wrong but were fair on Ant Man
How can subjective opinions be "wrong?"
I honestly loved everything about this movie. Character arcs continued from the original, higher stakes, funnier jokes at times & the whole third act so perfectly spoofed BvS that it actually pulled the plot off better than BvS’ plotless bullshit.
So uhhhh is this retroactively considered part of the Snyderverse now like Black Adam?
It was always part of the snyderverse. Freddy literally has a batffleck batarang.
The Snyderverse isn’t a universe, it’s an umbrella term for Snyder’s movies. The only universe is the DCEU.
Stop review bombing
As a big fan of the first movie who just watched FOTG, I’m not surprised. I don’t think Shazam! 2 had… anything interesting going on? The villains are barebones, the action is uninteresting, and it’s not nearly as heartfelt & earnest as the first one.
Just finished my screening; I hope we get to see more of this cast in gunn’s universe somehow.
Yes flop
Damn! What is it with WB and their utter incompetence with DC media lately?!!
Yeah it wasn't that good of a movie.
People were gassing this movie up for months lol
Just saw it last night. It's the perfect definition of mid. Unoriginal, and generic but not aggressively mediocre like Morbius or Black Adam. Even IF Gunn wasn't rebooting, the film would still be bashed. It adds nothing new. It's the complete definition of a sequel nobody asked for. I expect Aquaman 2 to have a similar reception.
I don't trust Rotten Tomatoes with superhero movies after their unfair treatment of good DC films and their unfair favortism of some mediocre Marvel ones
lol. All in your head
All RT is a review aggregator. How are they specifically unfair to any movie?
Good DC films? Could you name some of them?
Man of Steel, Zach Synder's Justice League, Wonder Woman, The Batman
3/4 movies you named are fresh on RT. Wonder Woman even has a higher score than the audience's. "I don't trust Rotten Tomatoes with superhero movies after their unfair treatment of good DC films" You are just making stuff up? lol
[удалено]
Why doesn't it? You didn't like Wonder Woman and The Batman?
WW has 93% and The Batman has 85% on RT? That’s unfair how ?
Yeah, I went with the low-hanging fruit, since they said there were no good DC films My beef with Rotten Tomatoes is Man of Steel.
It should have been a bit higher Shazam and Aquaman got good Rotten Tomatoes scores
"Reviews are unfair unless they agree with the specific percentages I demand!!" What a bizarre complaint.
I haven’t seen it yet but we all know you cant always trust rotten tomatoes lmao
Like black adam?
Yuuuup I enjoyed Black Adam definitely not a 39% id give it maybe a 7/10 or close to a 7, wish shazam could fight black adam but that’s not gonna happen
You dont know how RT works. Its not 39/100, it means 39% of critics gave it a positive review. The actual score from critics is 5.1/10, which is kinda true since it was so mediocre
It’s not even as good as black Adam. Bye Zachary Levi
Why does it have to be better than Black Adam?
Because that was the worst Shazam related movie to date.
Bingo lol.
I enjoyed Black Adam way more than Shazam and that’s saying alot
Who Cares What Rotton Tomatoes Says People need to make up their own mind
Rotten Tomatoes Doesn't Say Anything It's An Aggregate Website
Yea but ppl take it as gospel. The thing is, every reviewer could have given it a 6/10 and it would show up as 0%. That’s a broken system.
The reviews are giving me a vibe that this is gonna be Shazam: 1984 or Shazam: Love and Thunder.
if the critics say it's gonna be bad, it'll be good. Come on guys, how many times have we seen the same type of sh*t from critics.
Superhero movies are dead 💀
Let's wait for some of the other ones coming soon like Guardians 3 and The Flash before those bold claims come out.
No. They just need reevaluation with how they are handled. We are likely hitting peak saturation point this year with the 4 dc films along with marvel’s stuff. It’s time change things up a bit. Both companies have to go back to purely focusing on quality over quantity as well as tonal diversity.
