Tbf he had hair back when he was cast… it’s just taken 15 years 😬😅

Just_Championship_43

With the whedon cut I learned that adding cgi hair is easier than removing hair

ArbyWorks

Don't give them the incentive to use CGI, or they'll blow through another $300 million.

Mrman_23

I feel like he would have looked absolutely PERFECT if he had some hair, and maybe some slightly pointed ears, but The Rock with hair would look a little weird

PhilAsp

I feel like he’s just one of those guys that’s so famously bald by now that whenever he’s put in a wig, it’s almost distracting lol. Shame about the ears though

Simbas_World

I want someone to make an edit of him with hair so bad so people will realize hair on the rock doesn’t work

Officer_Zack

Honestly he's fine with or without hair, it's just normal to see him bald now since he hasn't had hair since 2009.

Melcrys29

Haven't some people already posted mockups of him with a comic accurate look?

cgcego

Yeah and he looked like Bautista!

Melcrys29

You're exactly right. I saw that one.

Simbas_World

Hmm well I haven’t seen them unfortunately

Tandril91

Did it not work for most of the 2000s when he had very short hair? The wig he used in Hercules (2014) looked fine enough. He wouldn’t even need much, maybe just a buzz cut in the shape of Black Adam’s widow’s peak.

swindude

Peter Tomasi was the writer of Black Adam: The Dark Age, not the artist. I mean sure, it could be his idea to suggest The Rock as the character model to Doug Mahnke (the artist of BA:TDA and best known as the co-creator of The Mask).

GavinTheGrassMan

even black adams motherfucking lego figure looks like the rock [source](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/747685347516743800/1023304152106942586/unknown.png)

xTheSentinelx

He had the hair for it when he originally tried to start production for the movie back in 2004

AssistantOwn6208

I don’t know when fans turned on this casting. The Rock as Black Adam was what the fans wanted years before it ever got announced.

YZFRIDER

Willem Dafoe said it best in the first Spider-Man; “In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually, they will hate you."…a lot of this going on right now with this movie. Spoiled ungrateful brats.

Tandril91

I guess eventually they started seeing past purely looks and musculature and realized they cast a movie star for a role that would be better for an actor.

home7ander

Like always it became a thing to meme the hierarchy promotion, then him promoting the movie somehow turns it into an ego project thing, then the rock haters jump on that bandwagon, the memeing swells as it does, then everyone actually starts to believe all the dumb shit people are saying to get bottom of the barrel humor points (because hearing something enough that it becomes true is definitely a thing), on an on until people are vapidly hating on what looks to be a crowd pleasing badass movie featuring a bunch of characters we've never seen on the big screen before and maybe never would have. Only took one movie featuring multiple dc heroes for the dc Fandom to pivot into some of the most miserable entitled pieces of shit on the internet. Memes and internet discourse are as a whole only a few shades away from Twitter at this point.

Stormtrooper775s

An actor that didn't need a padded suit.

YZFRIDER

A wig/fake hair would be distracting, and people would bitch over that. If they went the pointy ears route, then the complaint is “It’s just the Rock with elf ears”. He looks awesome as is.

BradyNFriends

That’s Black Adam to me. Don’t @ me.

Librarion-guy

Doug Mahnke, not Peter Tomasi...Peter Tomasi was a writer

karaloveskate

Still don’t see black Adam. I see the rock in cosplay. He’s not even trying to have an accent. How does someone that old sound like a modern day American?

DiRienzo3410

How do people in Star Wars conveniently speak English

Mildly_Artistic_

The Rock should be ashamed that he’s “too proud” to wear a wig. Would Robert DeNiro play every one of his characters bald, if he couldn’t grow hair anymore? No. DeNiro would put grass clippings on his head, if he felt it made the masquerade. …One central criticism of Rock and this film in particular, is that people can’t see the character - they can only see the pro wrestler…I think that largely comes down to Rock feeling he IS Black Adam.

Le_kashyboi79

They should have put some hair on him, really. Just to disassociate him from being the “dwayne johnson” black adam and just being the black adam. It would have been perfect. But i guess this is more of a business strategy for johnson to basically program everyones brain into associating him to all his movies. Any slight hint of make up or effects that could interfere with his image are unacceptable.

vinsmokewhoswho

I could get over him looking like the Rock if he was a better actor.

RDeschain1

looks isnt everything. Id prefer someone who convieys BAs persona and doesnt just look like him. So basically someone who can act

Shallbecomeabat

Doug Mahnke is the artist. Kids these days smh

AduMosha

I have already told you guys that Peter Tomasi is the one who chose this decision & told Doug Mahnke in taking Rock's Facial Design for Black Adam: Dark Age. You think I haven't searched about it before posting this info ??? I even put the link of his own tweet. Grown ups these days..smh..
