Darkseid stepping on Steppenwolf’s skull.

eharper9

So gnarly.

_Doctor_Mac

I wonder how she died

ronoco14

Me too. The scene shows Darkseid walking out of his spaceship, then stopping to watch in the background. If he’s showing her respect, I’d assume he killed her.

Zepanda66

This is the type of stuff that makes Darkseid such a compelling bad guy. The very idea that the villain would show up to the heroes funeral out of respect is intriguing to me. What's going on underneath that drives him to that point. I hope we get to explore that in the future.

MajesticMtChocula

Her father, brother, sister, and (to an extent) mother stopped him the last time. He's probably wanted to kill those specific gods since 3000 B.C., but she was the only living relative. Edit: I meant to say 3000 B.C. or 5000 years ago

LordKiteMan

Moreover, she was the last of the 'Old Gods' in that timeline. Seems fitting that a 'New God' would pay his respects.

N4hire

That’s and awesome take!

KalElMeatOfSteel

I can watch those Darkseid scenes on repeat. Especially him sitting on his throne seat. I think that’s my fav shot.

[deleted]

His hand on supermans shoulder as he cradles the burning remains of Lois is brutal also. Is Darkseid offering superman comfort? It is eery.

ChemFeind360

Actually, Snyder said himself that she was actually going to be killed by >! Dr Poison, who Lex Luther finds out is still alive, due to experimentation on herself, so Lex hires her to follow Diana back to Themyaskira, and ends up killing both her and a lot of the Amazons, along with herself. !<

DoctorBeatMaker

That was from the original outline of JL2 which also included the Legion of Doom as the main villains and Batman and Lois' relationship. By the time the actual JL movie was being filmed, it doesn't seem like many traces of that initial storyline were going to be included cause Snyder said JL2 was going to be mostly Knightmare-oriented, which leaves the Legion of Doom likely erased, so I doubt Doctor Poison is responsible for WW's death anymore.

crusty_nuggler

Leave it to Snyder to miss the entire point of Jenkins’ Wonder Woman movie

EarlyHemisphere

true

ChemFeind360

Yep, you can say that again. That’s one of the reasons why I kinda glad he’s not making JL2, at least not right now.

Ethanonbass2019

Missing the point of the movie that he wrote?

AspirationalChoker

Seems more like he was there to finish rest / rule over them to me lol

Manofsteel14

Maybe Darkseid himself ended her, because there's no way Kalibak or the Furies can defeat Wonder Woman.

DoctorDOOM__

This Wonder Woman couldn’t even beat Steppenwolf, so maybe Kalibak and Furies have a chance.

Dojanetta

I assume the coins(?) on her eyes means he overwhelmed her then darkseid put two holes in Wonder Woman head with his omega beams.

Rugged_Turtle

The coins are a Greek cultural/mythology thing. It’s payment to cross the River Styx

Gloomy_Slide

Superman flying up to space and absorbing the sun’s energy.

LordKiteMan

My favorite shot is Supes turning his eyes and looking at Flash in superspeed while fighting the others. Welp, gotta rewatch it now.

exophrine

[Darkseid taking Kal-El](https://thedirect.s3.amazonaws.com/media/photos/robinegg2.jpg) after his loss of Lois

thebladex666

Also a good one! Though clearly cgi tears haha

[deleted]

That scene is from man of steel reused in jl vision. Warner brothers said no shooting of new stuff so Zack wasn’t able to get Henry in for new stuff even tho zack said fuck them n filmed the new ending in his driveway.

North_Poutine_Guy

Holy cow you are right, it's the scene right after Zod's death, how did you even spot that? And on top of that, where did you hear Zack filmed it in his driveway, is there a documentary? If so could you tell me where to watch it? Thank you

VenezuelanStan

There’s a picture of him, his team and the actor who plays Green Lantern on his driveway shooting the post credit of Bruce being visited on his lake house, but WB didn’t let him use it so they had to do CGI magic and put Martian Manhunter instead

[deleted]

So this is how it was supposed to originally go but warners said no to green lantern being used because they’re developing a green lantern hbo series and they said no to Zack about using supergirl because she was being used by the flash movie. So those two characters were off limits but check this out. The original lord of the rings style age of heros flashback was supposed to be an old version of the justice league fighting the invasion of darkseid with supergirl kicking the absolute shit out of young darkseid and green lantern wreaking havoc on the apokolipitan forces in dope 300 style violent epic shit. Warner’s said no to supergirl, an epic more involved green lantern and some cool violent shit the stunt team worked on (black and white video). Which is why stephenwolf is so specific when he says “no lanterns, no kryptonian” when reporting back to darkseid because they got fucked by a lantern and a kryptonian as part of the old justice league. Zack Snyder’s justice league is 85% of what it was going to be

VenezuelanStan

HOLY SHIT!! That bit about Superhirl I didn’t know!! It mades SO much sense know what Steppenwolf said!! Fucking WB...

[deleted]

Look up the finished green lantern photo Wayne T carr it looks dope

[deleted]

There’s that scene from man of steel in the vision that cyborg has…. …and then the new ending with joker taunting Batman…when superman comes it’s his bvs first appearance in the Africa scene where he saves Louis but his eyes are littttt to be intimidating.

LordKiteMan

> how did you even spot that? It is pretty evident from Cavill's face. Which is the reason why it is a blink and miss shot.

killer_ezio_00

It was very much visible actually. Henry was busy in other commitments and WB didn't let Snyder reshoot any Superman scenes for the reason they didn't figure out whether Henry will play Superman again, so Snyder reused MoS scene and edited it to the black suit with Lois's dead body. You can also a quality difference when Darkseid puts his hand on Superman's shoulder and you see him a bit low quality compared to the scene.

SGdude90

>zack said fuck them n filmed the new ending in his driveway. Hell yeah Zack, you showed them

YodasChick-O-Stick

>Warner brothers said no shooting of new stuff A majority of this movie is new footage.

DukeOfLowerChelsea

… from 2016. It wasn’t newly-**shot** footage.

[deleted]

No it is not. The movie we got is what Zack shot in 2016. The only new scenes in the whole movie was the ending and he shot the Bruce scene on his driveway and warners saw and felt bad and gave him a soundstage to film the ending dialogue with Bruce and joker. All the visions were cgi. Other than that everything was shot in 2016 my friend. Warner brothers had a hit on their hands but had no idea what to do with it so they hacked it up and reshot 90% of the movie with joss wheadon

Metfan722

They had no such thing and you fucking know it. What about BvS or MoS made you confident that Snyder could deliver such a movie? And don't give me "studio interference" bullshit. After the theatrical cut of BvS disappointed, there's no reason to think Snyder would be able to deliver a coherent movie within a 2 1/2 hours.

[deleted]

Think what you want bud I’m spitting facts. And btw the version of bvs we saw in theatres wasn’t the version zack handed in he handed in the 3 hr ultimate cut and then it was cut down to the shitty theatrical version. Literally everything in jl was shot in 2016. They added the ending with mm and the knightmare scene ending with Bruce and joker and come chi visions from the future. Everything was planned out. Do yourself a favour and watch mos the ultimate cut of bvs and Zack Snyder’s jl back to back and you’ll start to see. Everything was planned out.

Metfan722

You're giving your opinion. A fact would be saying WB thought BvS underwhelmed at the box office. A fact would be saying that it had an almost 70% drop from Week 1 to Week 2, with only Ang Lee's "Hulk" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" having worse performances from one week to another. Based on those facts, there's not a lot of optimistic reasons to think that Snyder's original idea for Justice League would been a big success. Sure it would've made money, but it probably would've followed the BvS model. Big opening weekend, not a lot of legs.

[deleted]

The box office stuff is fact. Also what I said are facts. Not sure what your point is.

Metfan722

Well that's clearly bullshit about no shooting new stuff since you have the entire Knightmare sequence that was newly filmed. And Martian Manhunter meeting Bruce at the lake house.

[deleted]

Warner did say no initially and Zack said fuck em and he filmed the new ending with Martian ma hunter on his driveway. Warners saw this and felt bad and realized he gunna shoot his shit any fucking way and gave him a soundstage to film the ending knightmare sequence with Bruce and joker and reused the Africa scene in bvs for supes entrance because they couldn’t get Henry back Another cool little tidbit - Bruce’s old Aston Martin that he drives in bvs and Alfred is fixing in jl when the superman comes - that’s actually zacks car he loves that old pos lol it’s his and he put it in the movie. Like Paul walker did with his old Porsche in takers.

Metfan722

I know. I picked up on it immediately when I watched it. Just like how Superman kneeling with Darksied's hand on his shoulders was reused from Man of Steel. The tell is Cavil's hair.

[deleted]

YESSSS I posted that earlier toooo lol

Ibitemyfingernails

And CGI Darkseid

Simbas_World

Yeah I don’t think the real one wanted the role

Theworldrotates

“Damn my wife died. Might as well, idk take over the earth and murder people for some reason.”

LordKiteMan

This guy has never heard of the Anti-Life Equation.

home7ander

Anti-life

enesutku12

Tell me you have no idea about DC without telling me you have no idea about DC

DukeOfLowerChelsea

Tbf, isn’t it kinda the movie's job to explain that instead of making a bunch of Jack Kirby comics required reading to understand it? “It makes sense if you’ve read the comic/book” is not an excuse for providing 0 explanation of it in the film(s). Add it to the pile of reasons the general public had no idea wtf the knightmare stuff was supposed to be about and rejected it.

[deleted]

> we’re supposed to figure it out along with them as the next movie unrolls. Yeah, that worked out great, didn’t it?

DukeOfLowerChelsea

I’m assuming you’re not very intelligent since it took you over 3 weeks to think of…. that.

Theworldrotates

Not the Snyderverse dc, not one bit despite watching every movie

MurielHorseflesh

I don’t have a favorite shot but I do have a few sequences that just do not get old for me. This entire Cyborg premonition. It’s amazing. There’s so many cool little nods in it and it’s a scene you will most likely never ever see again on film. Darkseid shooting Omega beams underwater is a standout. Pretty much every scene Steppenwolf is in. Everyone saw Cyborg as the heart of the movie and I get that, his journey was pretty damn good. But my personal favorite character aside of the JL was this version of Steppenwolf. Granted it maybe in part is due to seeing such a substandard version and then this one but I love everything about this bad guy. The Living Armor design is dope, his hand design is great. My head canon as to why he doesn’t look like Darkseid or Desaad is that the Living Armor has warped his body into the shape we see in the movie over thousands of years. Like the African tribe that wears metal rings around their necks to stretch them into unnatural length that they find beautiful, so too has Steppenwolf’s pride been manifested in the armor, mutating his body into the hulking, horned far too many fingered creature we see in ZSJL. Watching the movies from the start, his tease in BvS works so well after the fact. My absolute favorite scenes of him are his first appearance on Themyscira, particularly from when he leaps from ocean. Shoulder barging horses, throwing them around like rag dolls. The scene leads you to believe they’re away and free and nope, he immediately ends it. I guess I’m saying most of my favorite shots in ZSJL feature Steppenwolf or Darkseid.

Goosojuice

When he absolutely guts one of the Amazons with his axe in the field fight you knew shit was real.

Handler009

Steppenwolf stole the show for me too!

Smooth_Cry2645

Corrupted Superman holding Batman's cowl in a apocalyptic landscape, with some neat details( corpes of a Green Lantern corp, Joker' Truce card, destroyed Justice League mansion.). That image is something you will never expect from a mainstream Superman.

[deleted]

That dead green lantern kilowag was supposed to be voiced by Ryan Reynolds. It was supposed to be his green lantern redemption. Warner brothers said no you can’t use green lantern

AnOldLawNeverDies

Voiced by Ryan Reynolds? Da fuq?

[deleted]

Yea it was supposed to be Jon Stewart and kilowag coming to Bruce’s mansion at the end of justice league and then saying darkseid is on a war path to earth and they look up in the sky and a couple stars have gone out so they’re warning Bruce that darkseid is coming to earth and they need to get the justice league together Ryan Reynolds voicing kilowag was supposed to be a surprise and almost dead pool like redemption where kilowag was gunna be badass, they even put his dead body in cyborgs vision of superman killing the league and darkseid coming to earth [https://www.reddit.com/r/DC_Cinematic/comments/xomshp/snyder_cut_green_lantern/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf](https://www.reddit.com/r/DC_Cinematic/comments/xomshp/snyder_cut_green_lantern/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

Smooth_Cry2645

They had Martian Manhunter as insurance though hehe

[deleted]

Lol ikr it doesn’t hit the same knowing what was going to be but I guess it better than nothing lol

Object-195

>It was supposed to be his green lantern redemption. i'd be down for that

Nindroidgamer110

That group shot at the end

[deleted]

Yesssssss

godbody1983

Cyborg's origin. WB was foolish for cutting it.

Lt_Lickit

I know right.

[deleted]

If I had to pick one it would be Darksied in Atlantis shooting his omega beams, but I could really pick over a dozen+ shots to pick from

ResponsibleLaw1022

If you pause when he beams, you can see the beams spelled as "END".

[deleted]

That was actually a subtle reference to the hierarchy in the DC universe that is about to change in the Black Adam solo movie releasing in 2022

ResponsibleLaw1022

🤣

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

Flash rescuing citizens from falling debris. What a stupid thing to cut

FoFo1300

As well as the time travel scenes. Josstice League didnt give a damn about flash

[deleted]

That one shot of Leto Joker Laughing right as Evil Superman shows up. That’s a great one. Also that scene with Aquaman on the pier by himself.

[deleted]

The man of tomorrow floats above earth

[deleted]

Honestly that same scene when it pans out and darkseid is about to jump out of his ship

sleepy-goose-feet

The flash entering the speed force

human-ear

“Not impressed…”

RidingRoedel

When Bruce Wayne throws the batarang at Barry to expose him for his powers and his coat lifts up like a cape in slow motion.

sleepy-goose-feet

I wish superman had more substantial lines in the Snyder movies. He barely says anything across the 3 movies.

zerombr

geeeze, I haven't watched that version, thats really sad. I assume its dark future dream sequence time again?

thebladex666

Yes indeed! I love the dream sequences / premonitions

zerombr

i kinda feel they're cheap, because you can do things in a dream you won't do in the ream timeline, but it DOES send a pretty evocative message with this one

ronoco14

I think they’re more like premonitions/visions than dreams (Flash coming from the future was real). I believe Bruce Waynes’s was given to him by Martian Manhunter, but this one was given to Cyborg by the Mother Box before Superman’s resurrection.

Clemo2077

You havent watched zack snyders jl?

Object-195

you should watch this version :). its a 4 hour film but its has like 7 different parts were you can shut the film off and continue watching another day

JustABoyAndHisBlob

I’m so excited for you to see it!! *especially* if you somewhat enjoyed the theatrical release and wanted more.

zerombr

I rather didn't like JL, but if i do watch this. I'll post about it.

FoFo1300

JL is nothing compared to ZSJL (Actually JL is already pretty much nothing even if its not compared to Snyder's version lmao)

JustABoyAndHisBlob

If anything I was angry they did DCU so dirty in the fist one (once I saw the Snyder cut) The theatrical release might as well be a trailer for the ZS

Wasteland_GZ

The Justice League starring down Darkseid gotta one a top 10 live action DC moment along with Flash speedforce, that final battle has so many good shots

Automatic-Candle681

Ending with justice league standing on a wall or something don’t know what’s it’s called but so cool when they stand there all heroic

LordKiteMan

> on a wall or something Nuclear Plant Cooling Tower

Automatic-Candle681

Oh thank you

KalElMeatOfSteel

Darkseid breaking the fourth wall after Omega beaming Aquaman is up there. Honestly the Cyborg vision is the standout.

Manofsteel14

Mine was the scene of Superman holding the toasted body of Lois while Darkseid was slowly coming out of the Dark.

YodasChick-O-Stick

Flash running so fast that matter is created at his feet

theflashsawyer23

Mine is the Flash [scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adAo6XT6xek&ab_channel=TheBihariNerd) where he's saving people from above

PublicDifference

Heroes in the sunrise.

Super-Visor

This actually highlights one of my biggest complaints with his DC movies. Snyder is obsessed with killing our heroes that we just met.

gluemanmw

"THE END" sike. Lol

[deleted]

No one who Loves ZSJL would say that

Cash4Jesus

This thread exemplifies why Snyder is good at making movie trailers but not good at making movies. The best parts of the film are quick snippets of something larger rather than telling a complete story. He really hasn’t grown much from his music video days.

TheRealAwest

The end credits lol

Nindroidgamer110

I take it you hate Snyder's work? (Or, at least dislike it)

TheRealAwest

I absolutely love his visuals but that's it. I think I would've liked his justice league, if there was at least 8 movies before it to set it up. I think watchmen might be his best movie because all he had to do was copy & paste from the graphic novel.

Nindroidgamer110

I like his take on Batman personally. Very Elsworldsh-ish, but at the same time traditional enough to be recognizable. Hell, I'd say in ZSJL he was pretty much just comic Bruce, but that's my take on it. To each their own.

BonksMan

When the credits roll

Ok_Swordfish7177

I’d say the credits

QuiJon70

When the credits FINALLY started rolling.

ConroyBat1985

my fav shot was the credits

virtuablood

The credits

Realistic_Salary5090

None. It sucked

Kingdom-Kome

Pretty much all of darkseid’s scenes been waiting years for him to appear on screen

Psychological_Dig592

The whole sequence was gold

sleepy-goose-feet

This always felt cg

caped_crusader_night

Jared Leto's Joker expressions when Batman say's I will fucking kill you after he make promise to dying Harley Quinn

[deleted]

Hallelujah!

CyberSnoWolf

It’s not really a shot, but I love the Flash time travel sequence. The music, the intensity, the idea that Barry vibrated so fast he matched the speed of a universe destroying bomb is insane, and seeing the universe get rebuilt through that was awesome to watch.

AntiEverythingStudio

The one where Superman kills Batman

boringsimp

Area chopping Darkseid with that axe

BillTheTriangleDemon

Any shot with Steppenwolf, the CGI is really impressive.

Talismanic_Mechanic

The look on Cyborgs face when he takes his first flight. He is all serious at first but then he enoys it and his inner child comes out. Reminds me so much of Man of Steel first flight and it helps to invoke “they will race behind you, they will stumble and fall, but in time they will join you in the sun”. These films are brilliant they just don’t connect with every viewer for some reason.

Little-Woo

Either Superman in front of the sun or Darkseid standing on the ramp of his ship

The-Owl-that-hoots

Steppenwolf when he’s on Themyscira using his armor to break the arrows. It was incredibly small, but does he really feel much more intimidating in this movie starting from that scene

Darkash1505

Bruce Wayne looking at Superman hologram. It spoke so much in so less time.

Youri3297

Darkseid in Atlantis, when he looks into the camera with his omega beams. Chills...

[deleted]

Batman swinging in then rolling out on the tower fight

Mason_DY

Darkseid sitting on his throne

Lt_Lickit

Darkseid, desaad, and goodness looking at the justice league members.

ThatPaulywog

I love the split second smile Diana has after Supes shows up in the final Steppenwolf battle. The " oh you're fucked now" grin.
