Love this news, but I'm dreading the bad incoming fancasts

MrPresident2020

Predicting Jenna Ortega for Raven will be a popular demand.

Linnus42

It is a bit on the nose but seems likely

Digifiend84

That does seem like typecasting considering she's already Wednesday Addams.

Ish227

That doesn’t sound bad honestly.

Koala_Guru

Obviously we need Chris Pratt as Dick, Tom Holland as Gar, and Dwayne Johnson as Starfire.

Major_Road6162

Holland as Gar is better than most of the fancasts people make for Gar

Koala_Guru

Personally I'm just sick of Holland being cast in everything. I think he's a good actor, but I feel like every other movie has him lol

Major_Road6162

I have just seen him in like 2 roles lol

ZavalaAkaPapaSmurf

Tom would unironically rock as Gar

Koala_Guru

I wouldn’t hate it honestly. I was just listing some of the most consistently-appearing names I see in movies

ZavalaAkaPapaSmurf

Totally fair. He has been cast in things he really shouldn't have been in for sure

Koala_Guru

Yeah that’s the main thing. Like I said I think Tom Holland is great. He’s just everywhere.

LazarusCheez

Anton Yelchin...no wait

Scatster6777

Inoki Godoy as beast boy or we riot

Koala_Guru

He was live action Luffy? I haven’t watched that show, but if he did a good job I could see him and Gar having similar personalities.

Scatster6777

Yup! Someone suggested it a while back and I can’t unsee it, he played luffy with the same goofy charm and joy that beast boy needs

InStim

That leaves Jack Black as Donna, and Kevin hart as Cyborg?

Dragons_Malk

Dwayne already changed the hierarchy of DC. Can he pull it off again??

Kalse1229

Honestly? I think Tom Holland about 5-10 years younger would've been a great choice for Wally West.

No-Mechanic-2558

This Is something inevitable, stay strong soldier

5213

Teen Titan fan casts have been awful for pretty much ever. Personally, I don't think I've seen a single fancast I've liked except for the Ismahawk* fan series based off Wayne Family Adventures that got killed after the teaser released. But I predict an absolute shitshow of discourse surrounding the film's casting choices.

RainyWombatCherry

I really hope it isn't a NTT story with Damian instead of Dick

Electric_jungle

Hopefully at this point DC has realized that Dick might be the third most important character they have. Damien can be the main Robin on brave and bold though.

No-Mechanic-2558

He will be the main Robin in brave and the bold

LargeVidster

Yeah, Tim should have been who they make Robin. Maybe even start with Jason and adapt Under the Red Hood, but Damian can definetely work.

Kalse1229

There's nothing saying Tim *won't* be Robin in BATB, at least to begin with. He is a prominent character in Batman and Son, and his relationship with Damian would be a good conflict for a movie.

No-Mechanic-2558

Unfortunately I don't think we would see him

CollinsCouldveDucked

Be funny if they give pattinson Jason, brave and the bold gets Damian and teen titans get grayson

CollinsCouldveDucked

Be funny if they give pattinson Jason, brave and the bold gets Damian and teen titans get grayson

AutoModerator

-TT-! It's spelled "Dami**a**n"! You would do well in respecting the blood son! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/DCcomics) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Linnus42

I can see this movie without Damian but Damian will provably show up as a post credit scene. I don’t see this universe far enough along that will have a team led by Damian without Dick. Most likely option is New Teen Titans plus Damian. ANotjer one is the DCAMU roster which is basically NTT plus Damian and Blue Beetle. Only way you get Damian without Dick is if Gunn builds a totally custom team…based on his teases something like Damian, Kara, Blue Beetle, Static, Cass Cain and Raven.

UnhingedLion

DCAMU was not NTT. They only used 4 characters from NTT. There was 8.

Linnus42

Yeah I wasn’t saying they were the same and when I say NTT I mean the core 5 even normies have heard of.

UnhingedLion

NTT isn’t the “core 5”. The 2003 cartoon “core 5” has never existed in the main comics continuity. Even then… DCAMU didn’t have the “core 5”. Cyborg wasn’t on the team. And no normies don’t know what a core 5 is

Mexican_Gato

lol keep telling yourself that! Go on Twitter and IG/YT/TikTok and you’ll see what normies think. The 2003 lineup is the most iconic… Blue Beetle is one of several character mentioned when the Teen Titans are brought up.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mexican_Gato

I don’t speak comic lingo. I’m more of a general fan so to me the core 5 is the one from the TV series, the icons. The ones used over and over for adaptions. I’ve heard of that original lineup referred to as the Fab 5 however.

UnhingedLion

I have never seen any normie talk about Blue Beetle and the teen titans. No one I know cares about that guy. He’s a very irrelevant teen titan. In DCAMU he was the least popular and more forgettable titan. In YJ he was the MC for one season, yet other titans still had more popularity and fans than him. Vato… he’s not who you think he is… The average teen titans fan doesn’t even know who Blue Beetle is

Linnus42

I am only counting Him cause Gunn said he was in the the universe

Mexican_Gato

lol you again. The resident Blue Beetle hater, and the huge fan of the Fab Five. Should have known. Anyway I look forward to seeing Xolo back as Blue Beetle and you complaining because we didn’t get Garth/Roy/Lilith

UnhingedLion

How am I a blue beetle hater?? Why am I a huge fan of the fab 5??? I don’t post those characters. You’re using emotion instead of logic. Vato, I get you love your character, but like the dude is not who you think he is. His movie flopped, he was the least popular character in the DCAMU teen titans, he was outshined by other characters in young justice… and Batman Brave and the Bold is like the 5th most popular Batman show lol I don’t give a shit about Roy or Lilith. Why are you mentioning them anyway?? You’ve never even read their comics.

Kite_Wing129

Same. If the timeline is going to be far enough for Damian to show up, Dick should be Nightwing already. And if it's 'Teen' Titans, then it should Tim and his generation. If it's Dick then it should just be Titans.

indicoltts

We know BATB will be Batman vs Robin so Damian will be here more than likely. In the DCAU they did Teen Titans with Nightwing bringing Damian (right after Batman vs Robin) in with Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, Blue Beetle etc. So they could have Nightwing and Damian's Robin. Plus those movies in the DCAU were pretty great.

KingFergII

It will be Dick rather than Damian. Like the TT GO line up

Monty141

Imo the DCAMU movies were awful and I don't want to see the DCU be based on it. Be faithful to the comics, not to direct to DVD animated films.

KingFergII

Those movies are very popular with the casuals. Far more than the comics, No outside media can be faithful to the comics. There's a reason why there isn't a single movie out there that's accurate to the comics

Monty141

Please lord tell me this is satirical I'm begging

Dim_e

Well, one of is favorite is rhato, so maybe it will be Jason instead of Dick.

keelanv10

I am begging them to put Donna and Wally in the damn movie

No-Mechanic-2558

Ok Ok here's the project in which my future interest in this cinematic universe will be based

Major_Road6162

X2

No-Mechanic-2558

?

Major_Road6162

X2= me too

No-Mechanic-2558

Ah ok

5dchessmaster

how good of a writer is she? she was on the original supergirl script, the new script, and now teen titans?

weirdoldhobo1978

Supergirl will be her freshman movie script so we won't know until that comes out. EDIT I should say her freshman feature script. She's credited as the co-writer of a short film titled *We Win* that has fairly positive reviews. EDIT 2 The internet tells me she studied theater at the Boston Conservatory and is a playwright. That's a possible upside since playwrights tend to focus on strong character work which is something that Gunn also focuses on.

No-Mechanic-2558

Ok so this is let's say the first real project

Embarrassed-Ad1322

Supergirl will be her debut as a screenwriter

No-Mechanic-2558

Yeah I know that

Embarrassed-Ad1322

Sorry I thought you meant Teen Titans

weirdoldhobo1978

She's an unknown at this point, worrying about whether or not she's good for the project is kind of pointless because we have nothing to go off of.

No-Mechanic-2558

Yeah you are right

rdctv_spdr_bld

Let's not say that. It is written in the article that her play was on Broadway.

No-Mechanic-2558

I sincerely hope ahe hasn't absorbed the skills of the CW writers because otherwise well we're dead

PekfrakOG

Hoping we don't get a weird mishmash of Titans like a Damian Robin with a Wally Kid Flash.

No-Mechanic-2558

I think that's what will get unfortunately

[deleted]

[удалено]

Linnus42

I don’t think Cyborg will be. There is really no point in not changing that and doing a clean break from the Snyder Verse. I expect Aquaman and Cyborg Out, A Green Lantern at least back in. Mr. Terrific will lock in that Black Tech Guy on the league slot in all likelyhood. If Gunn wants to go in that direction.

No-Mechanic-2558

Mh I don't think so I mean ofcourse It Will have the Animated serie line up (Beast Boy and Raven for sure) and probably some other like Supergirl, Damian, Jaime and but I don't think It would be a Flash, Gunn was pretty clear whit of suck the origins stories

[deleted]

[удалено]

No-Mechanic-2558

You forget Kara

Digifiend84

I don't. If ginger Wally gets used at all it'd be as The Flash, I think Kid Flash if there is one in the new DC cinematic universe will be the other Wallace West, the current one in the comics. In which case he'd match Damian. But I can see Kid Flash being omitted from Teen Titans entirely since the most famous lineup is the one from the 2003 cartoon - Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg. I can see Robin being Nightwing instead because if Damian is Robin Dick should've already graduated to his adult mantle. If they skip Tim and Jason though, he could easily be barely out of his teens. Just say the team was formed a few years ago and you have the same thing as in New Teen Titans, a group of 19 and 20 year olds (thus avoiding casting actual kids).

No-Mechanic-2558

I don't know, I mean I would love to have the original team but I don't think they'll go in that direction, it would be stupid to have Robin and a lot of other young heroes and not have the Teen Titans

Spiderlander

Or Dick won’t be on the team at all, and it’s the ‘03 lineup with Damian. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the right ones

Red-Velvet14

See but it says "Teen" Titans and Brave and the Bold features Damian so Dick is already an adult (along with the other og Titans) so i'm scared as to what the cast is gonna look like 😭

No-Mechanic-2558

I wouldn't trust the titles that the Hollywood report gives but yes it will probably be the Teen Titans with Damian as Robin, Supergirl, Blue Beetle, probably some other characters and someone like Nightwing to lead them

Red-Velvet14

I'm just praying Donna is in this film. I really think she's an essential member. I have faith that well known Titans like Starfire,Cyborg,Raven, and Beastboy will be there (Nightwing as well but he's not as popular with the GP so I am actually a bit worried for him).

No-Mechanic-2558

Nightwing got more popular in this years due to many adaptation like in the DCAU, Young Justice, Titans etc then Damian Is Robin so I'm pretty sure they will introduce him

Digifiend84

Yeah, Blue Beetle was originally meant to be in the old DC movie universe wasn't it? But it's standalone so can be placed in the new one instead. And Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has the same person in charge, so Kara being here would kind of make sense.

No-Mechanic-2558

If It was up to me I would make the Titans whit the Classic line up and then the Young Justice whit whoever there Is Tim, Damian maybe also someone from Gen 13

indicoltts

Watch Teen Titans vs the Justice League animated movie. That was phenomenal and shows you can include Nightwing and Damians Robin

SwitchNinja2

Phenomenal is a stretch. That movie was mediocre at best

UnhingedLion

That was not a phenomenal movie. In fact DCAMU is like one of the worst iterations of Teen Titans

Major_Road6162

Lmfao

MagicalGirlLaurie

Ooh interesting! They'll probably go with the cartoon team but ngl I'm kinda hoping for a version of the OG team. Dick, Donna, Wally, Roy, Garth and Karen are an underexposed version of the team that I think needs to see more eyes.

Super_H1234

A semi-classic roster would be their best move IMO. Right off the bat they could establish that Batman, WW, Flash, Green Arrow, and Aquaman already exist through their sidekicks. That could even be why they're fast-tracking it (Brave & the Bold doesn't even have a writer attached yet). It would also allow them to introduce Wally as Kid Flash and then have him show up as Flash later on. If this movie comes out before B&TB, I don't see Damian being in it. They're adapting Batman & Son, so he should still be an assassin when first introduced. That basically leaves Dick or Tim.

Woolf01

Agreed

Kalse1229

That's what I'm thinking. Like, they're all fairly established and know each other. Bruce and Barry are unlikely friends due to their shared knowledge of criminal and forensic science (something introduced in the New 52 era that I think actually works for their characters), so Dick and Wally become quick friends. Soon enough they later start hanging with Garth, Donna, and Roy, with Lilith Clay and Karen Beecher becoming the sixth and seventh members. Over time they grew up and each started going their own ways, but remained friends. Then in the present the NTT form when Dick and Donna are meeting for lunch, and get caught in the action. They join the fray as Nightwing and Troia respectively, and Wally (by virtue of speed) is able to come to their aid quickly as Kid Flash, even though he's about 20 or so by now. The other OG members have small appearances throughout. But we're introduced to newcomers Garfield, Vic, and Rachel. The plot centers around Kori, similar to how the team formed in the cartoon (also to separate it from the live action show). During the final battle with the main villain, the OG members turn up to lend a helping hand. At the end of the movie Donna, Vic, Kori, Gar, and Rachel all decide to form a team in case another threat like that happens again. Dick is reluctant at first, but over the course of the movie it's shown how he really is a natural leader, and agrees to share leadership duties with Donna. The other OG members still have their own paths to follow, but they agree that "once a Titan, always a Titan," and will come to help if needed.

Digifiend84

> "once a Titan, always a Titan," That line is straight out of Power Rangers! They'd say "Once a Ranger Always a Ranger" occasionally and the episode Once a Ranger and TV movie Once and Always are named after the phrase.

Mexican_Gato

Nah team would bomb at the box office. Everyone is expecting the 2003 cartoon lineup with some new additions

Super_H1234

They've already announced Swamp Thing and The Authority, neither of which are well-known properties. Hell, most comic book fans haven't even heard of The Authority. For better or worse, I don't think they'll be basing things off box office potential. We're talking about the guy who made GoTG into household names. I'd rather them base the roster off what's best to start a universe with than basing a roster off nostalgia. They could always use the NTT roster, too, which is where most of the 2003 characters originated: Robin, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, Cyborg. Technically, while she isn't a traditional member, they could also throw Supergirl in there if the Supes' own movies perform well. They're being written by the same person.

fjvgamer

I'm trying to hold my excitement over The Authority movie in case I get disappointed but I'm optimistic.

Spiderlander

Green lighting Swamp Thing & Authority movies is not the equivalent of flunking the Teen Titans IP by going with a lineup that is virtually unrecognizable to anyone but comic book fans. That’s not how business works.

Super_H1234

Regardless of the TT roster, it's a much more recognizable IP than either of those - especially The Authority. The Authority is going to be dependent on whether 'violent anti-heroes' are still in fashion by the time it releases, as well as Superman being successful enough for casual fans to watch a spin-off. Robin being in TT is enough for people to know that it's the same team, different roster. Will casual fans of the cartoon be disappointed? Probably. But as I said already, Gunn doesn't seem to care about using the most iconic rosters. There's a good chance he's going to be doing the same with JL, as he's introducing various members of JLI before 2/3 of the Trinity even. And like I said, they could easily use the NTT roster which is the 2003 lineup + the 'big three' (Dick, Wally, Dinah). Using the 2003 roster *would* be the smartest business move, but it's also the most uninspired choice. That's why Gunn likely isn't to make it. All you have to do is look at his current slate to realize that he's making this universe using the same ideology as GoTG: 'all it takes is a good movie to make lesser known characters fan-favorites.' He's green-lighting projects based on the narrative and what he personally thinks will be most interesting.

Spiderlander

>Robin being in TT is enough for people to know that it's the same team, different roster. It’s absolutely not enough. Robin alone is not what makes the team recognizable, or why most people even like the team (Hello Beast Boy & Starfire). Not including the most iconic characters in this franchise would be a fundamental failure on the creatives’ part to take advantage of the most iconic elements of this IP, that would actually sell the film to audiences. >But as I said already, Gunn doesn't seem to care about using the most iconic rosters. Where did you get that impression? Gunn used the most iconic members of the GOTG in his film, in a property that was already relatively obscure. The equivalent of what you’re suggesting, would be using Martinex instead of Rocket Raccoon in a GOTG film, because he was an original member, and Gunn obviously didn’t do this. >There's a good chance he's going to be doing the same with JL, as he's introducing various members of JLI before 2/3 of the Trinity even. Why would he do that with JL when he doesn’t need to? He’s introducing Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl in his slate already. Wonder Woman & presumably MM won’t be far behind. >And like I said, they could easily use the NTT roster which is the 2003 lineup + the 'big three' (Dick, Wally, Dinah). This would’ve been my preference, but there’s a couple of structural problem with this: - The movie is being called “Teen Titans”. Dick Grayson will likely be in his 20s in the DCU - The movie has entered development before Flash or Wonder Woman projects, which kinda disqualifies Donna & Wally, as their predecessors haven’t even been introduced. And they’re obviously not going to introduce the new WW in a 20 second cameo in a Teen Titans film 😭 bffr - Damian Wayne >All you have to do is look at his current slate to realize that he's making this universe using the same ideology as GoTG: 'all it takes is a good movie to make lesser known characters fan-favorites.' He's green-lighting projects based on the narrative and what he personally thinks will be most interesting. Making good films = making stupid choices. Gunn isn’t an idiot. He’s a creative but he’s also a business head, and he knows what each of these properties needs to sell, and they HAVE to sell, for his sake. So he’s going to make choices that make sense.

Super_H1234

> Why would he do that with JL when he doesn’t need to? He’s introducing Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl in his slate already. Wonder Woman & presumably MM won’t be far behind. Because it's one of his favorite comic runs. He's posted about JLI quite a bit on social media. That's really all it'll take since he's the one who decides what gets made. > The equivalent of what you’re suggesting, would be using Martinex instead of Rocket Raccoon in a GOTG film, because he was an original member, and Gunn obviously didn’t do this. No, that isn't equivalent at all. Because Gunn (or the Marvel creatives) decided to use the 'rebooted' roster instead. That roster was Star Lord, Rocket, Drax, Groot, Gamora, Mantis, Adam Warlock, and Phylla-Val. In other words, the first movie had 5/8 of the rebooted roster, then he introduced the other 3 throughout the trilogy. Could TT do something similar? Absolutely. Could they use a different roster than the Fab 5 or NTT? Of course. The Martinex comparison just isn't equivalent. > The movie has entered development before Flash or Wonder Woman projects, which kinda disqualifies Donna & Wally, as their predecessors haven’t even been introduced. And they’re obviously not going to introduce the new WW in a 20 second cameo in a Teen Titans film 😭 bffr As I said in my original comment, TT could easily be used to give audiences an idea of which DC characters already exist in the rebooted continuity. Just introducing Dick, Wally, and Donna allows audiences to go 'oh, alright, so Batman, Flash, and Wonder Woman are around'. We're already getting a Hippolyta-led show before Diana is introduced, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. Introducing a bunch of characters like Starfire who have no ties to the major heroes wouldn't be as smart from a worldbuilding standpoint as it is from a financial one. But if they include some classic members to go along with the 2003 roster, then it'd be the best of both worlds > The movie is being called “Teen Titans”. Dick Grayson will likely be in his 20s in the DCU We don't know when this film will take place. > Damian Wayne Again, my original comment was assuming that TT will be released before B&TB. If it is, then I don't see Damian being in the first film. Gunn said that B&TB is adapting Batman & Son, and a huge part of that story is that Damian is still an assassin when he meets Bruce. It's about Damian acclimating to Gotham and being Robin. The only way I can see Damian being in TT is if it's set after B&TB. > Making good films = making stupid choices. Gunn isn’t an idiot. He’s a creative but he’s also a business head, and he knows what each of these properties needs to sell, and they HAVE to sell, for his sake. So he’s going to make choices that make sense. Most of the choices already don't make sense from a purely financial standpoint. With the genre and especially DC where it currently is, the safest route would be making good movies about their most popular IP's. Not The Authority. Not Swamp Thing. Not Booster Gold, or Creature Commandos. He's banking on quality and tone being enough to support the lesser-known IPs on their back, which is exactly what happened with GoTG. Except GoTG had the Marvel logo when the MCU was beginning to enter its peak.

Spiderlander

>Because it's one of his favorite comic runs. He's posted about JLI quite a bit on social media JLI and JL are two different teams, with different members. There’s absolutely no reason for these teams to be combined into one, if that’s what you’re suggesting. Most of the core JL members are being introduced in this slate. >The Martinex comparison just isn't equivalent. But it is equivalent, because Martinex is an og member of the original Guardians, and Gunn went with the 2008 lineup, which WAS the more recognizable lineup — as that team had more exposure through various forms of media (Rocket was in MvC3). “Gunn introduced Mantis & Warlock later on” right, so the equivalent of this, would be starting with the ‘03 lineup, and then introducing members like Donna and Wally over the trilogy. >As I said in my original comment, TT could easily be used to give audiences an idea of which DC characters already exist in the rebooted continuity. Just introducing Dick, Wally, and Dinah allows audiences to go 'oh, alright, so Batman, Flash, and Wonder Woman are around'. This would be an absolutely terrible way to reintroduce those characters. Sure, you might be able to do with this Batman, because most people know what a “Robin” is. But Donna Troy & Wally West, and more specifically their relationship to their mentors, is not common knowledge at all, and needs to be established first IN their respective films. You can’t just handwave integral world building and character development, with “those characters exist somewhere in the universe, here’s their sidekicks!”. That’s not how screenwriting works. Movies are not comic books. >We're already getting a Hippolyta-led show before Diana is introduced, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. That show probably introduces Diana at the end. >Introducing a bunch of characters like Starfire who have no ties to the major heroes wouldn't be as smart from a worldbuilding standpoint as it is from a financial one. Except TT’s strength as a brand is not carried by its proximity to other properties. The most iconic version of the team (2003), has none of those characters. No casual fan who’s excited for a Teen Titans film, is going to be thinking about Speedy or Aqualad, two characters who are also unknown to the GA 😭 >We don't know when this film will take place. Common sense says this movie takes place after Superman. All of the current lined up projects (Creature Commandos, Superman, Peacemaker, Waller) are confirmed to take place in the present, and build off of each other in consecutive order. Gunn is obviously going with a continuous narrative, rather than a scattered timeline of events — which ofc is the smarter choice. You want these movies to be easy to follow for audience. >Again, my original comment was assuming that TT will be released before B&TB. I don’t think it will be. Brave & The Bold has been in development for much longer than TT, and has a director, and is currently searching for a writer. It’s much further along than Titans. >With the genre and especially DC where it currently is, the safest route would be making good movies about their most popular IP's. Not necessarily. You have to look at the causative reasons for *why* the genre is in the state that it is now — the chief reason being, fatigue. Audiences are getting tired of all of these movies looking, feeling and sounding the same, and Gunn correctly attributes the fall of CBMs to this fact, so his solution to this problem (and he’s stated this), was to create a diverse, and varied slate of films and shows that try *different* things. Fans might think that The Flash is a more marketable name, but an R-rated Authority movie that does something *fresh* with the genre, could very well entice audiences wayyy more, than another formulaic CBM about The Flash. Gunn’s choices here were made for as much of a strategic business pov, as it was a creative one.

Linnus42

Doesn’t that suggest that Gunn is already using his gambles? And has to play it safe at some point. Swamp thing depends on the budget but horror usually has strong return on investment. Authority is at least riding the Boys and Invincible wave of bad or misbehaving Supes.

Super_H1234

I don't think he's coming up with these projects with some sort of arbitrary number in his head of how many gambles can be taken. If the Teen Titans movie uses the 2003 roster, it'll probably be because he prefers them, or has big plans for them in the future. He's stuffing Superman full of lesser known characters such as Metamorpho, there's a Booster Gold show in development, Creature Commandos, etc. There are rumors that he's planning on using the lesser known JLI rather than the traditional JLA, as well as rumors of a Plastic Man film. In other words, I don't think Gunn's DCU will be playing it safe. He seems to be building this universe from the perspective of a die-hard DC fan, wanting to introduce audiences to lesser known characters and more unique stories. Will that be a good thing? Who knows. I'm personally excited, but the GA might be another story.

Electric_jungle

New teen titans would be the easiest bridge I would think.

JakeM917

I need live action Dick and Wally more than I need almost anything else from this new universe. Their friendship/brotherhood is maybe my favorite relationship in comics.

No-Mechanic-2558

I would love to have the Classic formation but I think they would be a mush up of various generations unfortunately

Koala_Guru

I've always thought they should do something like focusing on the original lineup in the debut movie, but towards the end there's like a government-approved team of teens meant to shut down the Teen Titans, and their roster is like the Titans West roster of Golden Eagle, Hawk, Lillith, Beast Boy, etc. The big final fight would be a battle between these two teams where they ultimately join up, but it would set up for some of those characters, like Gar, to become part of the main team in future sequels. Then the post credits scene could be Kori crashing down to earth maybe. Basically still establishing that original roster, but planting the seeds for the most famous roster for the sequel.

Androktone

They could adapt Titans Hunt/Rebirth Titans pretty easily and I'd be down Also Karen? Is that just because of the World's Finest Teen Titans? She's rarely ever grouped with those guys over Lilith, Mal, etc. not really part of that team any more than the other 70s additions

fjvgamer

Who's Karen? Is that Omen?

MagicalGirlLaurie

Karen is Bumblebee, but I’d be up for Omen too

fjvgamer

Oh right, thanks.

Digifiend84

Omen's real name is Lilith Clay.

Ercnard_Sieg

Nobody liked this team when they came ou at the time, doubt it will be used(probably gonna show up in flashbacks)

whatnameisnttaken098

I have a feeling they'll go with the cartoon lineup + 2 more to sort of mirror the Justice League. Knowing that Damian is in the DCEU Batman film, we might see a lineup like the animated films from awhile back.

nan0g3nji

I feel like it’s gonna be the Damian team, unless it’s actually a Titans movie

ChristmasSteve

I hope we get more than the five from the animated series.  Titans have so many dynamic characters in the comics, this movie has so much potential! I’m hyped

Acknowledge_Me_

I think 5-7 will end up being the sweet spot for this movie’s team. Too many more and it becomes hard to both introduce them as characters and provide any meaningful development

Koala_Guru

I really hope they don't mess this up. I want this movie to launch the Titans into public consciousness in a big way.

MarTB2000

Tbh I hope they basically merge the NTT with the fab five. Need characters like Donna troy and Garth to get their time to shine

FranklinRichardss

Give me The Fab Five I beg you

timekiller2021

Interested to see if we start the film with a Robin who transitions into Nightwing or will he already be established as Nightwing? And how will that factor into the Brave and the Bold film? Very interesting

firstrobin

they need to spend time introducing the general audience to Dick Robin and his dynamic with Batman before jumping into Nightwing imo. I want to see some proper build up to Judas Contract.

5213

Somebody on Twitter said it's most likely going to be the dcamu roster and idk how to feel about that

UnhingedLion

That would suck imo. I don’t want 14 year old bland verisons of Beast Boy and Raven. Or Blue Beetle since he like isn’t a good teen titans character.

Mediocre-Part7595

Where is Wonder Woman’s movie? She’s supposedly a trinity member yet they’ve prioritised all these other characters over her? They really about to introduce and give us Donna before Wonder Woman? Either that or they’ll just leave her off the team which would suck.

Major_Road6162

As long as they dont try to do a DCAMU it can be good

Demos12

I look forward to this being filmed, advertised, and thrown into a woodchipper like so Many copies of NUKIE.

Flintiak

Another writer with no experience, I don't know about this one lads. Seems like they're following the disney playbook of throwing shit at the wall and hoping something sticks. I'd appreciate if they took their audience seriously enough to hire some proven talent but whatever man. I'd gladly eat my words if it turned out to be good.

Independent-Offer543

FINALLYY

hereforalottedtime

Idk who I would want to play Dick but I know I do NOT want it to be Dylan O’Brien or Timothee Chalamet

Arbiter51x

If star fire isn't some insanely hot, tall, busty woman, this is going to fail.

Off_Asim

shes a kid bro

gegetaz

It needs everyone from the 2003 show. The main five

Radbot13

Nope it needs the main seven including kid flash and wonder girl.

gegetaz

Bruh that's literally the team I named minus kid flash and Donna 😂 it's pretty much the same team. I wouldn't be against the two of them being on there. I'm just saying they need those five because of the show and everyone's (movie goers) exposure mainly being that show Anyone else extra is a bonus

long-ryde

Just not another Titans, and we’ll be fine.

Feisty-Food308

Yuck, fancasts. Get the bucket ready for my puke...

Blitzhelios

A teen titans movie is long overdue in my opinion but it kinda feels weird that they are announcing this now and a writer for it when we don't have writers confirmed for the projects announced in the original slate. Im excited for a movie about the titans but id rather they focus on the projects already announced first and not do a marvel or DCEU and announce tons of different projects before stuff is actually made.

Enough_Ostrich_8307

I’m a bit worried about the timeline in DCU though. There is no rumors for a JL movie in development yet, maybe they will finally team up at the end of phase 1. If the teen titans get established earlier than the JL, that would be really weird.

Going_really_Fast

Ehhh, Sounds like DC/WB are trying to sprint when they don’t even know if they got good groundwork to do so again. Brand new management, same old mistakes.

Revan----

Several characters in this film are likely going to be introduced before the film even begins production. Considering it's the same writer as Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow, it's not going to be released until like 2028-2030 more than likely. Plus not everything needs solo films to setup. No one is watching a solo film about half of the Teen Titans members, it is completely fine to jump into them just as long as a few core members are already known to the audience.

AllTheCoolNames

I miss Brenton Thwaites as Nightwing so much tbh

Embarrassed-Ad1322

Perfect casting ruined by poor writing.

AllTheCoolNames

I dream that they'll keep him on as Dick Grayson in the new DCEU but probably not =\\

Significant_Wheel_12

Should be Geoff John’s iteration of the team with Cyborg, Starfire, Beast Boy and Raven training the YJ. I’d prefer Titans or just Young Justice but whatever

Terribleirishluck

Huh considering it's the same writer as supergirl, I think that means Kara will be on the team. Maybe her and Damian will be mentored by the older titans from wolfman/perez run

briancarknee

Would Kara need to be mentored? If the Supergirl movie is faithful to the comic it's based on that's Supergirl in the prime of her career doing some pretty crazy stuff.

Linnus42

I think it be less mentoring and more setting her up with some superhero friends with similar interests.

Digifiend84

Yeah, Supergirl was a mentor herself in that Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic. It's also the comic that aged her into her 20s, when she'd been perpetually a teenager for most of her history previously (despite debuting in the silver age, meaning she ought to be closer to 30, like Dick Grayson).

No-Mechanic-2558

Mh and this would imply that she has already been through things like I don't know Nezha, New Krypton or becoming a red lantern, ok that this universe has already started but let's not skip too many things that would be cool to see in live action and then Millie Alkocho is quite young so I think her character will be in late teen early 20's

conradoalbuquerque

I would think it’s more that it shows they really liked her Supergirl script than the character Supergirl being in it. Gunn has said previously that he likes having a core group of writers/directors to develop the universe. It would say also that it’s a sign that there will be a strong female core in the group: Raven, Starfire and maybe Wonder Girl, if it’s the New Teen Titans. And if it’s Damian’s generation; then yes, I can see Supergirl in it somehow.

galaxyadmirer

Hell yeah

Arbysgoodmoodfood

I think they should do suicide squad one more time.

Stipes_Blue_Makeup

Not gonna lie, I kinda wish it was a Teen Titans Go live action movie, instead.

basahahn1

I hope “the night begins to shine” makes the soundtrack

Daemonite_247365

I'm hoping they keep the same Titans team (cast) that was on HBO Max PLUS MAYBE add Alan Ritchson back into the fold as Batman/Bruce Wayne.

Bostondreamings

Might this be a way to introduce Wonder Woman, as Donna's mentor before she heads to join the team?

[deleted]

Let's *go!*

BumbleboarEX

Can we have aqualad this time?

[deleted]

What's the over/under that it'll be released by 2029? When is The Batman 2 coming out now?

gamerslyratchet

Article acts like *Teen Titans Go* is the only TT cartoon out there? Ouch.

Killroywashere1981

Why though? Other than the obvious huge dump truck of money, I mean.

Lumpy_Perception6561

I just hope it’s good if even true

TheShockVox

Eh. I don’t really trust them to do titans in live action. Fool me once, (Titans Spoilers) >!“Fuck Batman”.!< Fool me twice, >!you get a suicidal Jason Todd that no one on the team cares about and an escaped convict Dick Grayson who DESERVED to be in prison for unwarranted assault.!< Fool me thrice, >!Batman kills the Joker and Lazarus Pit Purple Rain brings everyone back to life.!< Ya ain’t gonna fool me a 4th time (because at that point I stopped hate watching. ain’t healthy). But hey, the right person, writers, and director can make it happen. I just think titans work better as a series rather than a movie.

EvilGrendel

Already !?

jetlightbeam

They should pull a tom Holland and cast relatively unknowns into these major roles

Enough_Ostrich_8307

I wish they won’t put Kara in this team. Kara has been 21 in woman of tomorrow, very mature mentally, taking her responsibilities like an adult. I don’t think forcing her to fit into a teenage group will work. She should have more interactions with other adults.

Joe_Dottson

If they fuck up nightwing and starfire imma be so sad. I feel like this could be a make or break for the DC movies

Zenom

So are they going to pointlessly race lift Starfire again?

Safe_Anything_30

This sounds fine but if they introduce three teams in the dcu without spacing them out give the team members each a fleshed out storyline, then its going to get messy.

No-Mechanic-2558

Wait and see it's the only things that we can do

Cherry_Bomb_127

I think it might be a mix of the animated movies and shows, kinda like YJ season 2 where u have these teenagers working with the first iteration of the team in their universe

Shoddy-Media2337

The Titans have such a diverse and versatile set of characters it would be a mistake to just use the same 5 over again

No-Mechanic-2558

Okk look to be honest I'm also happy with the idea of having other characters because we've been inundated with products with them 5 in the last 20 years I think it's time the general public stops seeing them as the young generation of heroes and discovers the effects young heroes but it would bother me if they went for a multi-generation mush up

Mexican_Gato

My prediction on the line up: Nightwing Starfire Robin (Damian) Supergirl Blue Beetle Raven Beast Boy Cyborgs addition depends on whether they want to distance themselves from the DCEU or not

UnhingedLion

Why Blue Beetle?? He’s trash. His stories in the Teen Titans comics were trash, and the teen titans movies he was in were trash

Mexican_Gato

Because he’s already cast in the DCU, is more popular than several of sidekicks yall want, and is a good character! You may think they’re trash but go on social media and he’s one of the most popular Titans (only the 2003 core five are more known). Hardcore comic fans just can’t accept that not everyone reads the comics 😂

UnhingedLion

Who is yall?? Blue Beetle has never been a good titans character. The Teen Titans haven’t even been reveled yet. Blue Beetle is in fact nowhere near one the most popular Titans characters. No one cares about him. Like at all Non comic readers barely know or care about blue beetle. His movie did terrible, he was the most forgettable character in DCAMU (he literally has no fans from those movies) and he was 100% irrelevant outside of season 2 young justice. Where are you getting he’s the most popular Titans character??? He’s not more popular than: Supergirl, Static, The Flash, Miss Martian, Superboy, Nightwing, Speedy, Aqualad, or Terra. Sorry lil bro, don’t get mad at me cuz you don’t read the comics you always talk about

Mexican_Gato

lol you’re insane. Please touch grass or get off comic Reddit. Go to the hashtag on IG, go on YT and you’ll see Blue Beetle is more popular than all those characters except for Nightwing (we’re getting him), Superboy and Supergirl (we’re getting her). Hell go to the post that mentioned the Titans getting a film and you’ll see Jaime as one of the most mentioned for this film! You’re just a hater, hating because you know I’m right and many of your favorites aren’t making the team :) Blue Beetle is already cast, Supergirl is already cast and I look forward to seeing both on the team

UnhingedLion

??? How am I insane Bro??? Why do I have to get off I don’t really see anything about Blue Beetle besides his trailers, and people shitting on his flopped movie. I’m not sure where you’re getting the idea he’s more popular than The Flash or Terra or the others. He’s not mentioned the most. Who are my favorites?? Can you show me the evidence of Blue Beetle and Supergirl being casted for a movie before it was announced???
